I love riding slow, though she moans good in high RPM(Ya I could'nt resist-- But just Once though ). Ya Low RPM ride is good, cos I get a lot of attention when I ride slow. Also one more rookie question about the common servicing(Yup they are in the Manual ). But I'd like to hear it from the Vetrans here. Please ignore my ignorance.... Will post some Pics soon...
congratulations navi's_ninja ! Happy Motoring :-) ... the 38 days must have been tough! It's only 30 days since I booked and it feels like eternity! Congrats again!

              • Rear Brake Failure!

                Hi! Fellow Ninjites,

For the second time in as many months, I experianced failure of my rear brake. Both times, I was doing a healthy speed and the only reason, I did not crash was because I do not rely too much on the rear brake.

The brake pedal simply goes all the way down and there is zero effect of the braking..after a little while, the brake functions normally again.

This is something you do not expect even from a Bajaj or TVS, leave alone a Kawasaki

Did any of you experiance this problem and if yes, what was it diagnosed as?

Hi navi i have just got my ninnja yesterday, and even i was pondering over the gear shifting , even i tend to move up really fast. Experienced riders can advise perhaps what is the correct technique?

I don't think its bad for the engine but your gearbox might undergo a lot of stress if you shift up so early..

I don't own a Ninja but i'm sure you don't need to take it SO easy..

Since the prescribed rev limit for first 800 km is 4,000 rpm, you should shift around 3,500 to 3,750 rpm. It would not harm your engine or gearbox.

I do not have first hand experience but the reports I have heard are good.

Question, did it happen while riding in rains? Happened to me very recently, while it was the first time in 10 months though, it was the 1st ride in heavy rains. Have not got it checked yet but understood from this forum itself that it could be cause of air in the rear break line, and it has been a frequent problem with the Ninja!

congrats on the bike bro. Regarding the throttle, don't think you need to really stick to the book. Breaking the engine is no science and you don't have to really stick to the rpm limits. My advice would be to keep at low rpms within the city as you don't want the engine heating up. 7k on highways is absolutely fine. Listen to your bike, she'll tell you what it likes and what it doesn't. Look at the temp gauge...there was a noticable difference for me in how fast the engine used to heat up after about 150kms or so.

I'm very concerned on hearing about your problem. I've owned a 250R close to 2 years and have ridden over 20k kms on it. I've never experienced it even once. I strongly recommend talking to one of the Service Heads in your location and getting it checked completely. Sometimes we mistake ourselves and it could be a human error too. Think again. If nothing happens on your end, PM me. I'll try talking to the Service Head here. He is a very helpful person.
