I found the pass light switch missing during the test drive last week. Also the horn is really soft. How do you guys manage to overtake a vehicle on highways during night without these? I understand it is not mandatory to have it but its always good to have it as it wont harm anyone.

Who says that redlining your bike harms its engine? The rev limiter is put in place specifically to prevent excessive revving which may harm engine. How does redlining hamper bike's engine? Can you or anyone ride a ninja 250R in India by constantly redlining? Can you please enlighten us ignorant souls?
Thanks in advance.
Redlining doesnt harm the bike not at all..infact it even says gear changes are perfect....then 8k on the line and a 2010 model....for 2.8 - 2.7, not worth the buy.....You cannot redline the bike constantly....agreed! but we do get clean patches where we love doing it!!!!
And i think Second Hand owners do not share the same rights regarding warranty of the bike!!!!sigpic

true.
but trust me tho... i've been to a few N250R re-sales...
and the warranty thing IS prolly the biggest reason for the re-sale price going down.
(most bikes look virtually brand new / are in brilliant condition.)
the market for the N250R is "small"...
and the second hand market is even smaller.
it's not easy to sell a Ninja250R at the price you (the owner) wants.
it's all good on paper... but the buyer will make-up/find all kinda reasons/excuses to pay you as little as he can.
come 2012... i'm thiking it'll be easy to buy a Ninja 250R at 1.5 lac.
hehehe... seriously.
I would mind very much if my bike is sold for less than the "Throw into the river" amount. So should you.Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

To take a pass , use the high beam as a dipper. Yup , the horn is not that loud. Can't help till the warranty expires.. then might go for a change..RIP Marco

Don't sell your Ninja to anyone who doesn't want to pay up the adequate amount of Vitamin M. This is the time for the market to mature and not feed on the money of those who had the guts to buy a New Ninja.

i have a palio i bought for 90 grand... IDV... 1.9 lac.
i've had "off a cliff thoughts" too..

@ eshan - who told you cant red line ninja 250 R in all the gears?? firstly tell me that, and dude when a person brings ninja out of his hard earned money which is more than 3 lakh rupees and maintains it well, why shouldn't he get the asked cost.
@ snappy - considering the bikes current insurance value i think if the insurance of first year is not expired till the date he sells you than one can cost the value of the bike - fiber parts so approximately 2.7 lakhs but if he has renewed than cut down i think is 20% of original value so again you have to recalculate. Again 8000 kms only wont have any issues with the bike as everyone knows the ninja and r15 are the best engines in the business and if the servicing and all are done properly than it can you smiles for some more x1000 miles.
Regarding service warranty i am not sure with ninja.

I tried once not using the pass light switch and used the high / low beam switch on my bike.....it was really difficult for me to concentrate on everything.

I agree on the 2012 part of it though, with more higher CC options (read Ninja 650R and GT650R) available, i sense a lot of existing 250R owners wanting to upgrade sellling at much cheaper price.

but i guess what's he's saying is...
( ONLY in context to a Ninja 250R thats 8000 clicks old...
an owner who i don't know... no idea how he's ridden the bike... no warranty... etc.)
for example...
if you lend a friend your Ninja... for just a short 4-5 km ride...
you definitely won't want him upshifting at the redline in every gear.
yes... it won't harm the engine i know... but you still won't want it would you?
now... if you say you won't mind him doing so... then i have no commetns..
