taken ninja for a spin (55 kms) today after changing the bulk oil put in by PBK chennai for second service with Bajaj DTS-SI bottle pack(oil changed within 48 hours of second service and 150 kms). the ride was much better.
as per manual the following are to be replaced for the second service:
1. OIL and OIL filter
2. Spark plugs
but it seems that all things are left optional and each PBK has different things to replace etc as per their stock and take the 526/bucks as service charge.Mountain biking on impulse with my wife and our bike goes down in water

been just under 10 days n not even 500 kms, i slipped today in sand, lost my balance and fell.ended up with a bend rear brake lever. No damage to fairings. Also right indicator lamp connection is broken.lamp and lamp cover have no damage..After getting up and riding again i find the front brake to be unusually harder to brake unlike before...not that ther is any loss in braking prowess..just that i've to put more effort to brake now...also the rear brake seems not functioning !! i'm going all nuts...

do they keep sufficient spares with them or will i have to wait for it..I'm planning to change the bent rear brake pedal..also thinking of installing frame sliders so that a fall doesn't create issues of this magnitude in future...Originally posted by harikeshpk View Postjust relax it is common. i have dropped my ninja at 500kms and broken the indicator. just get your bike checked at probiking and your ninja will be in good shape.

Are they filling the details of the service done, in the manual??

I will be getting delivery of my bike in couple of days. I'm seeking to know what is the best oil suited for this bike and something new Ninja owners learned about the bike after riding some kms...

Why do they change the spark plugs.. I have read it in other ninja forums , that the sparks fitted in ninja lasts really long and no need to change them unless they go bad..?Originally posted by harikeshpk View Posttaken ninja for a spin (55 kms) today after changing the bulk oil put in by PBK chennai for second service with Bajaj DTS-SI bottle pack(oil changed within 48 hours of second service and 150 kms). the ride was much better.

yes they do have. yes you can install frame sliders.Originally posted by donnie View Postdo they keep sufficient spares with them or will i have to wait for it..I'm planning to change the bent rear brake pedal..also thinking of installing frame sliders so that a fall doesn't create issues of this magnitude in future...
no they are not. just they stamp the manual with the Kms you have done the serviceOriginally posted by sreehari_r1 View PostAre they filling the details of the service done, in the manual??
1. you cannot wait till they go bad especially if you frequently go out on long rides, the logic is if you ride your ninja more in the city and stop and go traffic, even though you odo is not clocking, your plugs are working. so its better to change it at about 3000 kms or so. but if you are willing to take chances ( till it fails) the ninja plug should last you about 10,000 kms or so. you can clean them every 2000 kms in this case.Originally posted by vkuchhal View PostWhy do they change the spark plugs.. 2. thanks, but now i am tempted to go for fully synthetic ( in conflict to my own oil logic ) by the time my ninja clocks about 8000 kms.Mountain biking on impulse with my wife and our bike goes down in water

Afaik, Teflon doesn't protect from scratches...Originally posted by kariznin View PostIs anyone using any protective coating like Teflon for their Ninja's that would really protect from scratches? Any brand you guys would recommend for the same?
And is there anyway to remove scratches from Exhaust black matt finish ?
It just protects from very very minor ones which even a Wax polish does...
Btw, any suggestions for tank pads available in India for the Ninja...
Waiting for some pics

Why they did change the spark plugs? Even in the manual, it states that the changes are at every 12,000 kms! Changing plugs at 3000 is just adding to the landfill. I do a lot of city traffic since I commute to office on my 250, and I changed my spark plugs at 23,000 kms.Originally posted by harikeshpk View Post
