Just returned from my first long ride! Travelled Hyderabad-Bangalore-Mysore-Bangalore-Hyderabad in 48 hours with a fellow xbhpian Harsha! Ninja is an amazing touring machine, never fully appreciated how comfortable and able the bike was till now! I worked on my weaknesses and practised whole set of skills throughout the journey (1700kms)...a very very rewarding experience, both the riding and the company
p.s. Hyderabad-Bangalore road is bliss! Bluevolt like always is right in saying that the road after kurnool towards bangalore is amazing and that the ninja felt small/underpowered for the roads on offer!

Today went on the pre-munnar trip.. and enjoyed it a lot... the roads are good.. Except at one place .their was a large pot hole.. was riding at 80+ so dumped into that.. and the rear rim has a bit of bend it. .. not a major one .. i suppose .. abit air leakage is their.. (very slow)
Where can i get it repaired in Bangalore.. and is wheel alignment is necessary ?
Please advice..RIP Marco

Even I have a bent rim, no air leakage though. The bike runs fine. I am going to get it replaced under insurance. I suggest you do the same. Avoid any urge or request to beat it back into shape.Originally posted by vkuchhal View PostToday went on the pre-munnar trip.. and enjoyed it a lot... the roads are good.. My views on the YZF-R15 V2.0: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/news/198...tml#post699240
The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

How much does the new rim costs? and with that 95% recovery (in my case) , surely i have to spend some couple of thousand bucks. and it will take too much time to order and get a new one.Originally posted by Hyperion View PostEven I have a bent rim, no air leakage though. Thanks tibby. will surely check put this one , but removing the tyre and carrying it all the way, is a bit difficult.Originally posted by tibby View PostThis is what I was talking about:

The rear rim costs something like 23K. Its your choice. I dont mind spending a few grand for the peace of mind it offers. Just dont try to beat it back in place, if anything, it will make things worse.Originally posted by vkuchhal View PostHow much does the new rim costs? and with that 95% recovery (in my case) , surely i have to spend some couple of thousand bucks. and it will take too much time to order and get a new one.

Please advice..Even my 220's rim had a bend in it. Got it fixed for 450/- at Sai Iyengar, Lalbagh Road last saturday. I was a bit apprehensive about the whole process as any kind of such treatment is bound to introduce some amount of wobble in the wheel as it wont be perfectly balanced anymore. But no such issues, I did not feel any wobbles yesterday even at 130+ speeds.Originally posted by tibby View PostThis is what I was talking about:
You can try your luck at either place to get it fixed rather than paying 95% of 23K!_________________________
