Yup ive got a 150 on mine IRC. It grips very well initially but there is definitely a drag and heaviness one can feel as you ride longer. The nimbleness is lost to an extent in my opinion. It may be best to stick to stock.

          • Issues after service

Last weekend made a trip to mysore after getting my bike repaired from the crash and also got it serviced at 5400kms.

The engine oil changed to motul 15W50 mineral. But at higher rpm, while changing in the gear, their is a huge thud sound everytime.. do not know whether it is because of oil change or did PBK missed on some lubrications.

I am also feeling some vibrations below the Rider's seat at RPM 8k to 10.5k .

Does any one of also face similiar issues?
            RIP Marco

                      • I met with my first accident on the ninja

I didnt sleep at all last night due to stress and insomnia! So I thought of going on a long bike ride to de-stress myself and so i started at 6am today to kurnool (220km one way from my doorstep) with the help of a red bull! I reached kurnool at 8am and the ride was great (except for finding an appropriate petrol bunk)...absolutely enjoyed the ride, it was cold and foggy!

i decided to head back immediately after filling my baby (which was probably not advisable as i didnt eat anything). to be honest i was blitzing it back to hyderabad because at one point i've covered 160km in 70mins...all the while i had to work extra hard to keep my concentration levels and i knew i was losing it (making small errors like not giving indicators whilst overtaking and sometimes braking too late) but i didnt stop to eat and take a break! and the dreaded error happened
there was a gap in the median and i noticed a bus was taking a U turn from the oncoming lane and there was a vista in front of me who broke very hard and due to my not maintaining sufficient distance, i broke hard aswell and crashed into the vista's rear bumper! my ninja's front fender (the plastic surrounding the front wheel) broke and i fell!

I reduced my speed from 140kmph to 30kmph but unfortunately i gave up towards the end and let the bike crash into the rear bumper...somehow it was instinctive as i thought i'd be better off by allowing it to crash! did any of you go through a similiar experience? after i fell very lightly (literally sitting down and standing up again) i checked the bike for damage and apologised to the car driver! i checked the bike thoroughly and tested out the front brake aswell as for any wobble and i didnt notice anything out of the ordinary...i stopped at the next dhabha and filled my stomach with as much food and drink as possible, finally made my way back without trying to think too much about the incident.

                        the things i learned,
                        1. Never ride too long without any food/drink
                        2. Sleep well the night before
                        3. Stop at the first sign of fatigue
                        4. Need to develop a whole set of new skills for LONG rides

i travelled 503km, which is my longest ride and this little accident wont deter me one bit, infact it has further emphasised the need to be alert no matter what! this may seem a very lengthy post for a small accident but i'm sharing my experience so that others wont make the mistakes i made and in return pass on any advice!

p.s. to the ninja riders who've done LONG rides...do your buttocks hurt? (say after 300km on the trot)
I am a very safe rider who follows the rules, wears helmet and gear and stops at a red light! lol...i still don't know how i've managed to screw up...

Well it could have been worse, one of my friend collided with a light post and suffered a broken collar bone, and was in hospital for 2 weeks. If this happens on highway, then i guess the person will be run over by lorries, trailers plying on the road.
Never ride with an empty or "filled to the brim" stomach

What is most important is that one should never push themselves to "test" their limits or ride even close to the limits of their skill.

Luckily you are unhurt. If you had crashed at 140kmph as said in your post, you probably wouldn't be alive. Ride safe here onwards mate.

And yes, the butt and the arms and back and shoulders hurt after a long ride. Fatigue leads to loss of concentration so its important to take breaks as often as you can. Always carry chocolates and energy bars with you. Avoid redbull as it is not very healthy... occasional use is OK.

While riding in a group you might want to stop but the others might be energetic to ride on. Stop for a few mins for the blood to flow in your muscles. A few mins of rest will definitely help. Drink plenty of water too. Dehydration also causes loss of concentration.

+1. A full stomach or an empty one is equally dangerous and can make the rider drowsy or tired. A light meal such as sandwiches is ideal.

Cheer up dude, shit happens. You should thank your stars that nothing happened to you in the first place and nothing happened to the bike as well.

Riding without sleeping is committing suicide. YOu would get zombied on the bike and you wouldnt even know that your senses aint working. Simple riding on indian roads require top notch skills and if you are regularly doing 120+, you need even better skills. For those skills to work properly, your body needs to be in tip-top condition. Lack of sleep, lack of food, lack of breaks in between are all detrimental. Most of the time you think your body can take all these and then one incident like this happens (fortunately small your case) which makes u sit and take notice! It was for your own good

people have done all sorts of things to their bikes but has anyone modified their seat?? imo the ninja seats could've been better so are there any aftermarket alternatives tried by others?
