    4. Need to develop a whole set of new skills for LONG rides

Sorry to hear about your accident... but good that you are safe..

Those advice are things to be learnt for a lifetime..
I was also in the same condition just two days back when i was returning from Mysore to Bangalore early Monday morning..

I started from mysore at 6am with an empty stomach.. (At bachelor's place we hardly find anything to eat.. ).. Had a redbull and started off.. Even though i was not keeping for the past fortnight due to cough and cold and fever... all these things with an empty stomach started to take a tole on my body after an hour of riding... Finally the brain told to have something so took a U turn at maddur for McD... had a good hot coffee and a burger... came back to proper senses... and rode back safely..

I also took a pledge : never to ride empty stomach and specially with a red-bull on that empty stomach.

PS: One of my friend had an accident while coming back from mysore, as he had a lot of drinks the previous night and did not sleep well too... so while riding his Thunderbird(one month old) , he slept and crashed..

people have done all sorts of things to their bikes but has anyone modified their seat?? imo the ninja seats could've been better so are there any aftermarket alternatives tried by others?

which chain lube spray should i purchase? am slightly confused...
I am also planning for either a seat cover for Rider and get a comfy one for the pillon.. Any pointers???

You can go for the same chain lube that PBK uses during servicing... shall cost you around 300 bucks... Jus ask them .. they will sell it..

dont worry about what happened. take the lessons learnt. ride more .. much more. you get better with each ride.

there will be some butt ache. thats normal. may be a coupe of extra breaks inserted in between will reduce the issue.

corbin seats can put extra cushion on your ride, but at a cost. any chain / lube chain clean safe for "O " ring chains can be used. or traditional way of SAE 90 oil applied with a brush.

Motul Chain lube is available for around 480 bucks. Its an aerosol canister.

Other brands are also available but always go for lubes which are specifically manufactured for O ring chains.

The ninja service center (Bajaj) uses OKS. You can buy this from them for 300 bucks.

                      • disappointment!

spoke to the pbk about the front fender and they placed an order but they were told it would take 10 days minimum for them to get the parts from HQ...meanwhile i saw a black ninja at the workshop in a sorry state with its fairing, tank and headlight completely damaged! apparently its been there for almost 2 weeks and they are still waiting for the parts! wish the spares and other accessories be readily available!

but i did place an order for the green tails should be getting them very soon!

You can go to any shop that stitches seat covers. Remove the seats, ask the shop guy to take the measurement to cut and stitch an appropriate cover, get a thick layer of foam between the seat and the seat cover. They generally have thin sheets of foam so you can choose how much cushion you want.

But this jugaad option is not a long lasting option. The foam will lose it's thickness and will compress over time. It can form lumps over time too. If the seats get wet it can lose its shape too (if the cover does not repel water).

Thats quite surprising, because i remember having a word with the service manager ( Bajaj, and not the dealership manager ), here in Delhi, and he said all parts are ready stock, and if anything, they can be arranged in 3-5 working days at the most.

i did go to the pbk workshop and spoke to the guy who deals with the spares (not sure what his designation is...) and he did seem thorough and professional. hopefully they'll manage to get one in couple of days! I'll call others if i have to in order to find out more information but i don't know whom to call...
