seriously?? hope they are joking! if that indeed is the case then its very unprofessional and unfortunate for potential ninja buyers! i personally would love to own a ninja with green tail and black seat (completes the bike's aesthetics)...

sorry but you lost me there!

so the 2010 manufactured ninjas have green tail and black seats? i got mine in august 2010 and it came with a black tail and green seat...i thought our ninja models are the same as that in EU? one other difference between a 2009 and 2010 model is that in 2009 the silencer has a full chrome finish whereas the 2010 has a matte black finish. so according to EU models, mine has to be a 2010 model (or is the bike manufactured date prior to that of the release date?).

            • i guess my confusion has cleared finally! it looks as if the pbk are just selling 2010 ninjas but with a visual upgrade (green tail with black seat) in 2011 rather than releasing the 2011 model in 2011 itself!

so whizzkid_ram maybe right in saying that 2011 models will only be available from 2012! if that is the case...it sucks!

here are the 2011 ninja models...the colour schemes on page 5 sure look amazing

                  • Thanks Aditya for your time and help yesterday night..

I shall be going to PBK tomorrow, for my bike inspection and prasanna will be giving me an estimate for the repair work.

The parts that look a bit damaged or scratched are :
                    1. silencer
                    2. right fairing(i suppose a crack is starting to crack from the top)
                    3. right indicator
4.deep scratch one portion joining the headlamp cluster with the fairing.
                    5. right brake handle bar is also a bit scratched and bit on the accelarator handle bar too.

but in a delimma on what to get fixed or not aur should live up with it?

                    Please help me out.

IS a paint touchup job worthand can help me out... if someone has done it or has it.. can someone help on that front?
                    RIP Marco

it should depend on the amount of insurance claim you are going to receive. up to 70% replacement else repair may be a better option.

The tail & colour & seat part doesn't come into picture here. I am just asking when does 2011 manufactured ninja make a room here. It is the same thing as we get other 2011 made indian motorcycles like Pulsie, Zmas after Jan mid no. I'm meant, when does the MONTH & YEAR of MANUFACTURE in the frame of the bike would change?

As far as i heard , for plastic it is 50% and for metal it is 80-100% recovery ,.. can someone confirm on that?

And what if insurance inspector says that these are jus scratches and can be repaired around and i should not expect any replacement for them...
As i will be claiming insurance for the first time, please let me know if i am wrong and how to tackle it.

Will it be a cashless claim or first i have to pay and then i will be getting the money back.?

Inquire first to the insurance guy, whats the % for fiber & metal parts. & If the inspector says the same, as said above, Break the fairing & claim.

NOTE: Break only if the amount you are going to get is on higher side.

                              Don't.

                              @vkuchhal

The fairing will get replaced. A repair/touch-up job will result in a poor finish. Crashed two months back and suffered similar damage. Bill of approx 38K, paid 13K and insurance covered the rest.

Replaced right fairing, front cowl, silencers chrome ring tip and the chrome bit at the base of the silencer(don't know what its called) and right front indicator. In my case also changed the T-stem and right handlebar ( slightly bent) so your bill should be lower.

I left the scratches on my brake lever, rear brake lever and minor scratch on my mirror as 'dishti' !!
