  • As part of transporting the bike... When i had earlier plan of transporting it from dehradun (as i was thinking of purchasing it from there=45k cheaper than in bangalore)... i checked with the gati people... they were not ready to do it... (saying that the bike is too heavy and scratches on the fairing is not their guarantee+packing of the bike was a big head ache)... so had to drop the plan..

do not know about the agarwal movers and packers...

As far as i know ... riding is a good option if distance is within 1000kms..
    RIP Marco

I would not touch any of the shipper's with a barge pole. I shipped my Bullet from Gurgaon to Bangalore - apart from a dent in the wallet, they put an even bigger dent in my fuel tank and refused to entertain any claim. It was Agrawal movers and packers, by the way.

And shipping something like the Ninja 2fiddy is out of the question, at least for me. Unless it is boxed in a titanium enclosure with 100 tie-downs. I would ride it down even if I am moving from Bangalore to Dharamshala.

yes the bare metal is visible, you can check the pics i posted in one of the posts above to see how much of it is visible. what do you suggest? touch would do in this case?

I guess the risk is there and there is no better way than to drive it down.

I have used Agarwal movers and packers 3 times. First when i moved from blore to chennai, 2nd time when i moved from chennai to pune and the last time from pune to blore. The first 2 times they did a good job but when i moved back to blore from pune, not only did they lose a few items but also damaged my car noticeably... this when the car was transported in a car carrier. So for a bike there is more risk and damage is easier inflicted.

          • better to ride it.

Because if you wanna crate it, you will have to pack it yourself ( which would involve a huge bad ass crate, with lots of packing and thermocol, and the bike somewhere inside, tied down and strapped.

The cost of doing all that would actually be more than riding it till there!

Riding is a way of life. Sometimes, it might also be a way of giving life. So Ride safe. In both contexts.

                1. I have to drain all the fuel from the bike before I board it onto the train. Will this cause any harm to the injectors?

                2. The bike will be parked on the side stand. Will it be stable enough or is a paddock stand absolutely necessary?

                Any other tips?

                .
this packing depends on how comfy you will feel to see the bike damaged at the destination. be prepared for scratches dents.

mirrors, indicators, tail lights and gear lever removed will be a good way to start.

be prepared to take chances. you have about 50% chance of getting your bike intact at destination.

+1 to that. I'm so wanting to lean and knee down.

BTW, this bike is CH regd. Good control and skills but it might be a tad dangerous on public roads... but traffic was light and i'm assuming the rider knew what he was doing.

yes, good control ... I think it must be a bylane as I could see traffic in a distant but not on that particular road.
