Cool. Will be nice to see you after a long time Asim.

I also got the call from the PBK yesterday, seems they are not to much decided of what we all be doing their... but he told me that press will be their... and then a lunch at a good hotel... did not tell me the name...

I told him that my bike is under repair at khivraj due to an accident .. to which he told me that i can come along and they will provide me with a bike....

I will give him a call to confirm on that... otherwise was also planning to pickup the bike from prasanna on sat evening and give it back to repairs work on Monday... but i really do not think that might be a good idea.. as the bike has a broken indicator and scratches ... and might not look too good in the snaps...

Do not know how things turn up as i am very much interested in coming and being a part of the 1000th celebration..
    RIP Marco

    • Even I got the call and the same info about meeting at probiking showroom, they will do the video shooting of the whole event and give all the riders a copy of it later. And we all will ride to a hotel for lunch!

      I will be there!!!

Go to the international ninja forums such as ninjette.org, newninja.com etc.

But remember, installing HID's and/or any mod's on the ninja WILL void your warranty.

        • Third service questions!

Guys ..my bike is touching 12K and would like to know if any one has done a third service so far (i presume bluevolt should have ).
          1) Cost of service
          2) No of days required
          3) Any difference between mineral oil and semi/synthetic usage. Intend to ride it down from Pune to kerala and then kerala to Chennai for the California superbike school. So it involves roads and tracks.
          4) Do they change brake pads as part of the service or should it be requested separately?
          5) ANy other things to keep in mind.

          THanks

Bluevolt got his bike serviced (3rd service) sometime back. In Blore they did not have a vacuum synchronizer (it sync's both the cylinders perfectly for firing) at that time but they managed to source it in a few days/weeks. Check if the service center for your city has the unit.

Regarding the oil, there is not much difference between mineral oil and semisynth as ss oil is 70% mineral in composition. I changed to SS oil at 3700 kms and i found the bike revving a bit more smoothly and the wee bit of roughness disappeared. Change to SS without any hesitation. The manual recommends 20W50 but i put 15W50 since its slightly thinner and will circulate better in cold weather.

Brake pads will be changed only if necessary (costs 1250 plus labour charges for either front or back wheel).

Generous? My generosity levels are at a zero (maybe even negative) when it comes to my bike as i had to upgrade my 'arms length distance' concept to a 'barge pole distance' concept due to fear of damage to my baby!!

                  Good luck with your search...

                      Thanks Aditya..That was quite helpful.

Even though I plan to service it in Pune, would require to change the tyres in Blore. If i remember correctly the IRC tyres cost a bomb 11K if you get it changed from the probiking showroom. Wonder if i can source the Pirelli sport demon (assuming it is a good replacement and it costs less) from somewhere in Blore.

                        Yup.. I have

Its gonna cost you around 6k... one full day of service.
Since you are planning to take it to CSS.. I would recommend fully synthetic. I use Motul 300V.. coz u would be redlining your lady all the time at the track.. and you should give her all the protection she needs.

Brake pads are changed only when required. Before I completed 12k on my bike.. I had already replaced the front twice and the rear once. So if there is not much left on the pads get it replaced.. coz u would be doing a lot of braking on the track.

                        See you at CSS.

                          1) Cost of service (bluevolt: around Rs.5500 or so)
                          2) No of days required (bluevolt: 4 hours approx)

                          4) Do they change brake pads as part of the service or should it be requested separately? (bluevolt: Replace if necessary - check for pad wear when you get it for service)
                          5) ANy other things to keep in mind. (bluevolt: I think you've covered all!)

By the way - when I was scoping out for motorcycle stuff in Tokyo yesterday, I had to exercise a great deal of restraint on usage of my credit card! I was really tempted to buy the A-Tech front fairing, meter covers and the rear hugger, along with white EL backlit meter gauge panels. But better sense prevailed and I did not buy.

I bought two bottles of a super expensive engine oil additive called superzoil, on malliah's suggestion. (I bought one for him and one for me). It was Rs.3500 for 250ml and it is supposed to drastically reduce friction between moving parts, and hence, the engine heats up less and lasts much longer. I will mix that with the Motul semi-synthetic oil on my fourth service this month. Will let you guys know the feedback.

Asim and I got our Pirellis from Sai Iyengar near Lalbagh area. See previous posts in this thread for specifics.

in all fairness... that's one heck of a pimped out RX.

and the vid doesn't show topend... which i'm sure the RX got owned.
