  • ^^ do remember that there is a 500rs charge for taking insurance cover. So you wouldve paid more than the indicator wouldve cost.

        This baby needs care.
Lube the chain every 600 kms or when the chain seems dry.
I clean the air filter whenever I see a slight drop in power... Once cleaned the Ninja starts roaring again.

Whats the suggested interval for cleaning the air filters? I got it cleaned last during the 1st servicing and im at 3.7k Kms now...

you will have to check with the insurance people. I remember there is always a charge for any insurance claim, big or small. Like a processing charge.

Generally best to get it cleaned every 3000 kms/3 months, and replaced once a year, or earlier depending on driving conditions. You can refer to the owner's manual as well for this information.

This is the best video I could find on air filter cleaning. I use Diesel to clean the filter and chain.

                    YouTube - Ninja 250R Air Filter ??????

For the chain you can use Motul chain cleaner and lube. I normally use diesel to clean the chain and PBK provided Lube for the chain.

YouTube - 08 Ninja 250 Chain Adjust Clean Lube

Just like me, you may not have a paddock stand, so I lube the chain and move the bike a bit so basically its
Move>Lube>Move>Lube... till the complete chain is lubed.

Yep every insurance charges you a certain amount for all the claims. So its pointless to claim for small damages. And also rember that you will lose your NCB!so basically you end up paying a lot more!

OK ...let me rephrase the question , what happens if you have breached the 1600 k's mark but continue to ride at 6000 rpm @ top gear ....does it make any difference to the engine ? or do u need to take it as high as possible ? Merci
"It's impossible." said pride. "It's risky." said experience. "It's
pointless." said reason. "Give it a try." whispered the heart ....

                        • ^^ the later you start ripping your bike, the better and longer life it'll have, have seen many splendors giving 30kmpl because they were ripped during their run-in and many 200-220cc bikes giving ~40-45kmpl because of their sane usage, but the main question is you have bought the BEAST, don't you want to rip it ?
I'd advice you to go till 8K rpm till 2K kms and then go higher with the range after every 400-500kms
The only thing standing in your way, the ONLY thing you can count on, at any given time.. Is YOU

the lesser stress you put on the engine, the longer the engine live. However, if you don't stress your engine during running in, you will have an underpowered machine. Post 1600 kms most of the running in has already happened so the engine has already achieved most of its character so there is not much point to stress the engine to increase its power output.

You can rip for your own pleasure though.

                            • Ninja 250R

After having Spend months dreaming about the ninja . Staring a few on the road

It was an auspicious day of Gudi padwa when I took dad to the Probiking show room in Mumbai 2 have a closer look of ninja 250r and to take the final call And as expected he was impressed . next day made the payment and got a the delivery date confirmed for diwali day 4th Nov

I had already started with my research for the stuffs to buy. Oct 31st bought new helmet a good cover for my baby and then in evening got a call from Pbk “ Sorry sir , there's a little problem. your green ninja is not in stock and will take minimum of 45 days for the next lot to arrive. Do you want to go ahead with black or wait “ It was heart breaking. it was like that “ y me “ feeling. I had 2 wait, told him will wait. Though every morning I used to feel lets go with black after all its the same Ninja lol .. Trust me, I can say if its not the price it’s the waiting period which is unbearable .

Finally after diwali on 8th nov got a cal from Probiking . that the bike has arrived and has being sent for registration .. and exactly after a month 19th Nov I got my bike ..
Sabar ka faal metha hota hai .. there was this surprise .. Got a new Ninja with a few changes .. the rear seat being black and the body green .. Wow it looks amazing .. here are the pics ..

One recommendation, avoid SMS lingo. This is required at xbhp and also not fun to read. Hope you could edit it.
