After a lot of research i found that it makes sense for me to continue with Oriental for the 2nd year insurance.
The premium will cost me Rs. 4200/- (including the 20% NCB from the first year of insurance) and for just 500 bucks more i will get the zero depreciation option. In this case if i claim insurance, the plastic parts etc. will not be calculated at 50% depreciation. I will get the full amount in case of a claim. Only Rs. 2500 will be deducted from the total claim as a voluntary excess.
Just thought i would share this with others so it will benefit them.
The IDV for 2nd year will be Rs. 2,49,000/-Last edited by n_aditya; 05-02-2011, 08:16 PM.ATGATT - Because hospital ceilings are boring !!!

I remember reading somewhere that the chemicals in most paints can damage the helmet's shell polymers by reacting with them over a period of time and I do know that most polyurethane paints will degrade your styrofoam/EPS liner, compromising the integrity of the helmet and therefore your safety.Originally posted by sachinzeus View PostI am looking at having my LS2 helmet get a coat of custom paint......a green theme to match my bike.
Anyone know where one can get this done in Bangalore?
Thanks.
Please do check before you proceed.

Not advisable. +1 to what Sunny has mentioned. Buy a new helmet with the choicest graphics or proceed at your own risk.Originally posted by sachinzeus View PostI am looking at having my LS2 helmet get a coat of custom paint......a green theme to match my bike.

Finally Got My First Sportsbike 'The Ninja'
Hi All
I have been a silent reader of this thread from the beginning and keep collecting all the valuable info you guys shared so that could help me one I get my Kwacker. Thanks everyone who has given their valuable inputs to this thread.
It was dream come true when I got my First Sportsbike a month back. I was feeling like 'A Superstar' when everyone in my locality appreciated me that I got such a beauty on my own. Thought of telling you guys earlier but due to hectic schedule at my office from past one month was unable to do so. In fact, I was unable to enjoy my ride and click some cool pics. So, I thought to get my complete riding gear first and post some pics with the same.
Last week My Ninja completed its First runnin, so I took her for service at Bajaj Probiking in Kirti Nagar, Delhi. I felt a little disappointed with the service guys.
1. they did not have the spares available. Need the oil filter to be changed at first service, they just cleaned the old one and installed the same
2. for air filter cleaning the service guy, twisted and bent the filter and dipped in diesel first and then some oil. I don't think that is the right way to clean the air filter
3. this is the baddest part, during cleaning the washing guy made scratch on my tank. I made a complaint immediately to the manager, they did everything to nullify the scratch so now it is not visible. One need to search around for that.
Now, after a week my Ninja lost its charm. It feels like all the action is gone. It feels a little heavy, takes time to blast off till 6K rpm. I am really feeling sad, just a month old and this service guys made a mess with my bike.
Don't know what is wrong with her. I think it is the unchanged oil filter or that bajaj DTSi high performance engine oil is causing the problem.
Please, guys help me out on this, give your inputs.

^^
how many kms have you ridden the bike?
the SC guys need to CHANGE your oil NOT clean it.
and none of that Bajaj DTSi high performance crap.
about the air filter... that is how an air-filter is cleaned (more or less)
also... is the Ninja air-filter supposed to be changed during the first service?
make sure they work on your bike again... till you're satisfied.Last edited by xionite; 05-03-2011, 10:22 PM..

@Kariznin - refer to your owners manual. There is a customer service number available. Call that number and register a complaint. Damaging your tank and not performing a proper service is sheer arrogance.
My answers to your query are inline below...

2. for air filter cleaning the service guy, twisted and bent the filter and dipped in diesel first and then some oil. I don't think that is the right way to clean the air filter. Air filter must be soaked in diesel to remove the carbon, dirt, slime, etc. Then it should be dried within numerous sheets of newspaper or highly absorbent cloth or by blowing compressed air. Then SAE30 oil must be sprayed on the air filter and excess oil should be removed by patting a cloth or a newspaper on it.
3. this is the baddest part, during cleaning the washing guy made scratch on my tank. I made a complaint immediately to the manager, they did everything to nullify the scratch so now it is not visible. One need to search around for that. - highly unacceptable. If i were you i would have asked for a replacement.
Don't know what is wrong with her. I think it is the unchanged oil filter or that bajaj DTSi high performance engine oil is causing the problem. - the problem seems to be clogged air filter and oil filter. Get this attended to at the earliest and your bike will be fine. I would recommend using Motul Mineral oil, yes, mineral oil. After 5k kms you can switch to semi synth from motul. Dont use the bajaj oil.He mentioned first service, so it should be around the 1000 kms mark.Originally posted by xionite View Posthow many kms have you ridden the bike?
He was referring to the oil filter only.Originally posted by xionite View Postthe SC guys need to CHANGE your oil NOT clean it. and none of that Bajaj DTSi high performance crap.
Yes. AFAIK, the manual also suggests the same.Originally posted by xionite View Postalso... is the Ninja air-filter supposed to be changed during the first service?ATGATT - Because hospital ceilings are boring !!!

Thanks for the guidance adityaOriginally posted by n_aditya View Post@Kariznin - refer to your owners manual. There is a customer service number available. Call that number and register a complaint. Damaging your tank and not performing a proper service is sheer arrogance.

I took the Motul semi-synth oil with me at the time of service but the SVC guys told me that your warranty may be void using this oil.
And, now as the oil is changed should I change to the Motul mineral one or can you the Motul semi-synth when I take it to the service centre?
I enquired for the OIL Filter and the AIR Filter, it is still not available with them
Regarding the tank scratch, shall go forward and log a complaint? That scratch is really irritating me but is not visible unless you searched around throughly. what you suggest?
