You are right - I stand corrected.Originally posted by vkuchhal View PostPardon me Rahul, Correct me if i am wrong...
The air filter is their to prevent the dust from going into the combustion chamber and where the AIR/Fuel is mixed in a ratio to be burnt and not on the Engine oil side... Right?

Hi, I'm not sure about this but I heard that like R15, Ninja 250R also comes with synthetic oil from factory. So I think you'll not face any problem with your engine.Originally posted by Yasser View PostGuys---been reading a lot about how fully synth should not be used till the bike has done about 10k or so. Now...immediately after my first service, Arif at PBK Hyderabad suggested I go with fully synth (my bike had done 1200 then) and I went along with him
.
I have already done about 2000kms more on the bike, after that...do you'll suggest I drain the oil and go back to semi-synth or has the damage already been done?

Dude, what engine oil does ninja comes with from the factory? Fully synthetic or Semi synthetic? I think Castrol activ Xtra 20W-50 is a fully synth one. If it had came with mineral or semi synth oil, we should only change it with same thing no? Doesn't it make any harm if we change it to fully synth suddenly in first service itself?Originally posted by bluevolt View PostPersonally, I don't think the Bajaj oil does any harm to the bike, but if you want to put a different oil, you can try Castrol Activ Xtra 20W-50 (not 20W-40).B o D a C i O u S

Sorry on those a bit confusing lines...
That is one complete sentence to be read and should not be broken down into 2.
All i mean is that the Piston separates the complete engine into 2 regions- The combustion chamber(Where both air and fuel enters in a ratio and gets burnt ) and the other side is where the crankshaft and the other engine moving parts are their. So the place where the crank is their.. this thing i mentioned as the engine oil side
.
May be this could help...RIP Marco

the bike comes with the semi synth oil from bajaj. please remember that no company will put any oil which is bad for your engine.Originally posted by whizzkid_ram View PostDude, what engine oil does ninja comes with from the factory? what is important is that one should complete the running in period as explained in the manual.
it is better to continue with semi synth/ ordinary mineral oil at least till about 7000 kms or so.
i have given a detailed write up on this in the engine oil thread.(http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/universa...tml#post466124 ) in Indian climate esp in south India where there is no extreme cold, your ordinary mineral oil will do its work very efficiently. Extreme cold may cause it to loose efficiency during starting conditions.
i will not personally use fully synth till atleast 10,000/- kms or more.
what is important is to change the oil and filter at the recommended time / kms run whichever comes first.Mountain biking on impulse with my wife and our bike goes down in water

Came back after a blast of a ride =) day trip to Hyderabad and back, to meet an old school friend who I had not met for 8 years. Caught up over lunch
Left at 5am today, reached Hyderabad at 10.30am, left Hyderabad at 2pm and was back home 7:45pm! Trip meter: 1,138 kms.
And thanks Yasser for the tip - I rode the 'banned for motorcycles' outer ring road expressway on both way in and way out!
By the way - I tested out my Osram 4300K mega white bulbs. What an improvement over stock illumination - same difference as between a 40W yellow bulb and a 40W energy saving florescent bulbs!Last edited by bluevolt; 02-06-2011, 10:31 PM.

I'm lovin' this... that's so damn true!Ten Hut (In Facebook) At the track...this Jan...the R15 gang from Pune rode the Ninja. Now they had ridden it at lavasa and on the highways before too. But once ridden there a good rider came back saying "I am sorry I ever doubted you" ! He was addressing that ...to the machine.
The Kawasaki Ninja 250R is just a fantastic machine and thats why I wanna punch every sucker who says 'its a good machine but not worth 3 lacs' ! Wanna tour = ninja, wanna track = lol ninja, wanna screw some bad roads= ninja ! Wanna look like a poser = ninja ! Want to have your headlight on all day long = ninja !
