For the rear it might be possible, as both have 220mm.discs, but Ninja is 2 piston caliper, whereas R15 is single piston caliper.

hi,my rear rim got bent so i changed it under insurance. When i had gone to make the payment i noticed that a small bit of the paint and a bit of the metal too was chipped off at 2 or 3 places along the circumference of the rim, When i enquired they told me that it happens to all the rims when the tyres are changed at the workshop and he told me that he'll do some touch up paint to hide it. is this true or are they jus tryin 2 rip me off by selling a used rim?

^^ can't say mate. Why would they sell you a used rim? If the rim was damaged by someone, it would be hard to repair and the flaws would be easily visible.
If the "damage" is not much and the paint chip is minor, dont worry.
OTOH, these rims should be mounted on proper machines for tire fitment... just like car rims get tires fitted automatically, not like how a roadside puncture walla fits tires.
get the wheel balancing and alignment done though.ATGATT - Because hospital ceilings are boring !!!

One side you are looking for better FE other side you are looking for performance or bigger CC. practically is it possible? I dont think so. In my opinion. Buying is a different thing and make a full use of it other. just go step by step. you cant do graduation before doing 10+2 may be you can but I cant . just my opinion no offense.Originally posted by jvh View PostAnd in fact, I'm in the same dilemma as you the only difference being I've already booked the CBR250R. Wife prefers the baby Ninja and I think if one is ready to spend 3.2 on a 250cc why not spend a couple more on a 650cc. But anyway, to each his own. Let us stick to the topic.

Be practical if u are looking for FE go for 100 of 150 cc. or wait for diesel bike. NInja is like other bike in city.Pure pleasure is on highway. Go for r15 and save your money.
+1.Originally posted by n_aditya View PostThe Ninja250R will deliver 30kmpl or more if ridden sedately. But that's no fun. So if you are riding past 120kmph expect around 25-27 kmpl.
The Hyosung 650R being more bang for the buck? I dont know. Seems dicey as they launched the comet here few years back thru kinetic and then disappeared. So finding competent mechanics for repairs and service will be a challenge is history repeats itself.
Worrying about fuel cost is one thing, what you should account for is repairs and periodic maintenance as well.

Bullet - 500 - less than 2 lakhs - Sounds more bang for the buck than the Ninja 250R, 650R, GT650R etc.Originally posted by dharmana View PostI wanted to buy this bike but i heard that the fun on the 250R wears off after a couple of months. So i plan to save 2 more lakhs and wait for the Ninja 650R which will be launched soon and priced at around 5 lakhs instead of shelling out 3 lakhs on a 250cc bike like the Ninja. But i do know that the Ninja 650R would give a mileage between 17-20kmpl. The fuel cost is really skyrocketing. I would also try out the Hyosung GT650R though before buying. I am sure it will be price at 4.5 Lakhs. Sounds more bang for the buck than the Ninja 250R. I would like to know the fuel economy of Ninja 250R from the users here
Is the above quote wishful thinking? If yes, please don't read any of my ranting below. if not, please DO read it.Originally posted by dharmana View PostI have a premonition that petrol is soon gonna cost 100Rs a litre. Why not go for a Splendor is you are so concerned with fuel economy. I have also heard that Hero group will be launching a diesel bike soon. Why not wait for that?
Reg. performance in city traffic, even a busa or blade's performance will not be better than a spendor's. In fact, busa and blade will make rider feel like committing suicide if driven in bumper to bumper traffic. What performance in city are you talking about?
There has been a lot of discussion about comparative performance of CBR & Ninja. Ninja 250 is world's best 250 bike, has 2 cylinders and 33 bhp. CBR is unproven (thought Honda won't launch a dud product), has 1 cylinder and around 26 bhp. A single cylinder bike's performance will be very much different than a 2 cylinder bikes'. Comparing these two is really pointless.
Where did you get info about CBR's mileage? Is it a hunch or a fact?

Now, i have some questions:
1. Is there any compromises made on the spare made by nissin for yamaha r15 and for Kawasaki ninja?
2. Is it good to use those pads on Ninja?
Ninja brake pads cost 1200 and not 1800-1900 as quoted by you.Never argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.

Most probably, the rim was chipped while fitting tyre on it. Does the service centre has tyre fitting machine? Pune svc does not have it so we Pune guys, take rims and tyres to another tyre shop to get it fitted.Originally posted by swamathia View Posthi,my rear rim got bent so i changed it under insurance. @Vishwas ji - no words, I'm in full Lol after reading on Splendor post
. Actually you should've suggested Discover 100 ES that BAL claims 80 Kmpl in city & 102 on highways lol!!!
Looks like dharmana is either totally confused or obsessed with Kwacker 250. On one post he says he's going to buy Ninja 650R & suddenly he talks about FE. I'm totally confused as what he's trying to say!!!Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

Perhaps you wanted to address him?
As for me, I'll be riding after 3.5 years in India after I buy any one of the bikes in April-May. So, thought of starting with a 250cc. And my initial hesitation was similar to dharmana where he posted that 250cc would get bored after a few months. Nothing related to FE but yes performance, for sure
Opinions are like assholes, everybody's got one. And most of them are full of shit.

Got my ninja back after repairs exactly after a month. But have to compromise. I had to change the left , right and front faring ( cowl ) but the replaced one's come without the NINJA sticker. PBK guys say stickers are not available easilyand will take alot of time. Guys can anyone help me out with stickers.
Bike looks incomplete without them
also would like to know are the same available outside. ( The original one's )

I think that it will depend on where you ride and how often.Originally posted by jvh View PostAnd my initial hesitation was similar to dharmana where he posted that 250cc would get bored after a few months. Nothing related to FE but yes performance, for sure
If like me you use the bike purely for leisure on the weekends and are primarily on highways, let me assure you that you won't get bored too soon!
My 250R is 8 months old and I literally wait for the weekends to get astride and have fun!
Indian highways are simply not built for speeds in excess of 160-180 kmph and open highways are the ONLY place that you will be able to explore the 250R's full potential. Yes, you can squeeze the very last bit of performance out of your bike on an open highway but any more and I think that you might be accused of trying to kill yourself!
Mind you I am not talking about merely top-end speeds but also the torque and rev-happy nature of the bike. I seriously doubt the CBR250 will be even close to bringing the same grin to your face as a baby Kwacker screaming at 13k rpm!
That said, wanting more is only human, and I'm waiting with some impatience to upgrade to a 650! And if the extra 2-3L is going to be bang for the buck is something that I look forward to finding out soon!

My needs are exactly like yours. Use the car or carpool for my daily commute so biking everyday is out of question. The bike will be purely meant as a weekend entertainerOriginally posted by Sunnyside_up! View Post

Well, the paper facts back up what you say but hard to conclude until ridden, no?Originally posted by Sunnyside_up! View Post

Hmmm, so a 650cc kwacker eh? Correct me I'm wrong, but in many of the forums, many say that 650cc kwacker is best used as a tourer and not as much as a sports machine as the baby Ninjette? This is purely on hearsay and I don't have any first hand experience. Most of them, if its a 600/650, opt for Honda/Yamaha/Suzuki....Originally posted by Sunnyside_up! View Post

Don't take just my word for it! This forum is full of guys who will back me up!!Originally posted by jvh View PostWell, the paper facts back up what you say but hard to conclude until ridden, no?
But yeah, I guess I get your point.
You're absolutely right and in a land where the ZX6R was being offered, I would be pining for one.Originally posted by jvh View PostHmmm, so a 650cc kwacker eh? However, I'm a pragmatist first and wish to upgrade to higher power output in a (relatively) refined machine and unless I'm mistaken, currently the 650R is our only option, right?
I'm consoling myself with the fact that most of my riding is on the highways anyway, and the 650R should be upto the job.

u r perfectly rite about the 650 being more of a tourer. it redlines at 7k which compared to the 250 kwacker is quiet low . i mean at around 7k the 250 actually opens up.Originally posted by jvh View Post
