was talking strictly about the seat cover.

with a lil looking around... you can find one that's a close match.

the finish depends on the the "seat guy" doing the job.
and yes, you will have a perfect looking seat.

it's definitely worth saving the extra 4300 "for a new seat"

about the green tail panels... there's no way you'd get a colour match.
your best option is to buy new panels.

but... if u're willing... you can also buy two cans of N250R green.

    prime down your black tail-piece...
and paint it green and then add on couple coats of lacquer...
    and you're set.

it definitely won't cost you as much as buying new rear panels.

the seat n re-painting the panels... won't cost you more than 2000/2500 bucks.

I'm in the same boat! I'm buying the green tails but not the black seat! 4300rs for just a seat is ridiculous!

thankyou very much xionite for giving the idea of changing the leather! i'll shop around in hyderabad after my exams, i'm sure there will be plenty of professional fitters around to get the same finish and similiar tough leather (its a very small area so should be alright)

I can get you help with a painter for getting the tail panels painted, with the exact finish for a dirt cheap price.
We can get seat covers around Koti or elsewhere depending on material choice.

matching the paint 'finish' is the easy part.

          it's the colour that's tough.

Ninja Lime green is a very touch colour to mix.

trust me... i've painted my whole bike Lime Green... and it's still only a virtual match

it might look "exact" in sunlight... but in low light you'll spot the difference.

and make sure you mix the paint under (yellow) light... as white light can be very misleading.

one thing tho... Ninja Green looks superb under (white) road lights.

The green tails cost 2.2k per side. Where did you get a quote of 10k from? This 2.2k price was posted by a ninja owner few pages back. Search for it.

INR 4400 for both the panels + INR 4300 for the black rear seat = 8700.

Getting a seat cover in the same texture as original is not tough. For a fraction of the cost of a new seat, one can get a seat cover for the rear seat with some padding if required (so the chicks dont have a sore ass after a ride).

Instead of spending close to 4.5k for the rear seat, it's better to buy the rear cowl for almost the same price.

This is exactly why I'm still in two minds whether to go in for sliders or not.

The Puig version has what looks like a pretty flimsy flange, so the amount of damage that it can prevent is questionable. In fact, I've been told that it can at best do its job if the bike is merely dropped or falls at near stationary speeds.

The Shogun type which bolts onto the chassis ( I thought it was the engine block?? ) ,is supposedly much more sturdy but then again I've read somewhere that in a shunt, the damage could be transmitted to the more valuable heart of the bike, where without the sliders, the much cheaper to repair/replace fairings would have taken the force of the impact.

Now I'm even more split down the middle.

this is exactly why i was not rushing for sliders. the force do get transmitted to the bike frame in an impact on the slider. those who are comfortable on that may definitely go for it. i for one will keep my chances. after fitting the crash guard on my maruthi car, i realised that force of any impact will directly get transmitted to the chasis / frame of the car causing irreparable damage and also spoil the safety system(protection) of the car like crumple zones etc. so i gave the crash guard back to maruthi on exchange of one car perfume bottle a week after fitting the same( read gave free ).

sliders are debatable accessory as far i see for the ninja.

have you installed the k&n yet? i have a k&n in my car and it has made the air induction noise a little louder (manlier i suppose...lol) and there has been a slight increase in performance (albeit only a little). i was wondering if installing k&n in ninja would have the same effect?? the only problem is the maintenance of the filter which clogs up quicker than oem filters and its only advisable to get it cleaned with a k&n filter cleaning solution.

Yes I am using K&N filter. It might have increased the performance, but negligible as I have changed only the filter pad (same size as OEM pads). Only feel I got is that it is breathing better. No change in sound noticed. We have to change the entire intake system to K&N (cone filter) to get a performance change. Yes it clogs up quicker, especially in our dusty conditions.

Yes, K&N Recharger Filter Care Service Kit is recommended to clean their filters.

Apart from lubricating the chain, cleaning/lubricating air filter is another concern. Will they clean the Ninja air filter in every service at bajaj??? It should be mandatory..

yes of course, i forgot to mention that i went with the conical filter rather than replacing the stock oem! i did consider the full ffe but didnt want to fully pimp my car, so only pimped it partly!

i have no idea whether they clean after market filters at pbk and even if they did, they'd clean it with bog standard solutions which in turn may negate the benefits of opting for a k&n oem replacement filter. in any case, i'll ask arif and confirm before i take a plunge!
