I do face similar situations but switching to 'high beam' sorts the problem for me.

Like you said, switching the bulb should be making it better. I can't comment on it since I haven't used it.

"All-new from the ground up, the new baby CBR features a 249cc single-cylinder and is fuel injected, something the more dated Kawasaki is not"

From the above message it is clear that the comparison is done with US version Ninja

          • ^^ cant blame them for having lax emission laws for two wheelers that even carb bikes still cut it..

            • Pirelli Sport Demons in Bangalore

I enquired about the tyres near my place, based on n_aditya's request. Here are the prices:
Pirelli Sport Demons - 140/70-17" - INR 3,500 inclusive of fitting
Pirelli Sport Demons - 130/70-17" - INR 3,600 inclusive of fitting

The prices above are just quoted rates, without negotiation & could come down if we purchase tyres in bulk, or maybe even on just showing up with the Ninjas.

              • The price increase is probably genuine. Rubber prices have shot up substantially over the last 9 months worldwide.

Has anyone tried a 140 size tyre? A lot of posts that say upgrades even to 150 have been done but would like to know from a 'local' .

Possible, going by several posts on ninjette.org.

But then expect the rear sprocket to wear out much faster. FE and top end will also drop with a heavier, wider tire.

it better to stick to default tyre. a wider tyre will add some stress on the chain, sproket, top end , and will have a wider contact on the road which will increase the rolling resistance adding to the stress, most of all fuel efficiency ( if you are bothered about the same that is). what u get in return is just better looks, some extra grip compared to stock. up to you finally.

its better to put the stock size tyre, but made for road / touring with appropriate all weather thread pattern.

                      • Hello everyone, I would like to welcome myself to this thread and elite group of Ninja owners and lovers

I have been reading this thread for a while now and the experts here have contributed a great deal to my technical know-how especially jd666.

My Ninja has got a minor scratch on the top of the tank, thats the bit where the tank pad doesnt reach, I dont know how it got that but its a little visible :'(. Can someone please help me out here. Its only about a milimeter thick and nearly 3 cms long.

My bike is mostly wrapped in its cover, dont know how this got onto it.

You dont need to change the shock absorber to get a softer feel. The rear shock is adjustable (5 step IIRC) and can be tuned to a softer setting. Check the owners manual for info on how to do this.

But this will affect handling significantly.

sorry ..... i have played enough with the stock rear shock. makes no difference to the basic behavior. in fact mine is now on the lowest setting. i have drank the owners manual too inside out after buying the bike,

if any suggested after market shocks, please inform. there is an ohlins shocks costing about 35 K, but its for track or road i have to confirm.

I think that if you do find a softer replacement, you will miss the handling and overall feel of the bike afterwards.
