I actually use both beginning with the Kill since it is easily reachable and the Ignition for the headlight of course. I use my bike almost everyday...not sure if anyone out here does the same...but this issue looks more like a battery fault else a recharge would have done the job.

Has anyone here bought the Rear Hugger (A-tech look alike) from Shinto Racing, Thailand? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9HVLHV8tQPk

this one doesn't go well with the rest of the bike tho.

i think it was bluevolt... who put the FZ16 hugger on his ninja.

visually... that seemed a better fit.

      • Hey people!

Got my ninja last week in Aurangabad and rode it down this weekend to Mumbai. 551Kms of absolutely bliss! The bike is absolutely enjoyable even at 55kmph (run in) period!.

Getting it to office for the last two days now (Goregaon to Bandra). The traffic is bit of a dampner but the amount of heads it turns is just not funny!

The bike is due for its first servicing now, so will have to be without her for a day but i guess thats a small price to pay!

Can someone tell me where can i get frame sliders for this one? Also any suggestions on a teflon v/s paint protection film?

Proud owner of a Yamaha RX135 5-speed and Kawasaki Ninja 250R!

        • @Yamaha, you can get the frame sliders from Bachho Motors. I got mine from there. Perhaps you may very well get it in Mumbai

          • Hi Guys,
I need advice on Synthetic Engine oil for my Ninja. I've done 1350 Kms so far & also completed my first service.

Bajaj people are using some Castrol mineral oil. I'm thinking of switching to 100% synthetic oil.

Please share your experiences with Motul/Shell synthetic oils.

Is it absolutely necessary to stick to the 20W50 grade?

            bye...

Actually looking for some gear to start off with. Since i would be getting the bike from Pune, have been told that DSG there would be ideal to go to. Any such places in Mumbai too?

              • Interesting find which can be pretty handy for 250R owners...

YouTube - Kawasaki Ninja 250r, Do it yourself track stand, DIY Paddock stand, swingarm Stand

I want to get this fabricated and the fabricator might need more information.

Can mechanical engineers / experts confirm if the measurements specified herein are enough?

Best I could find off the net was costing 5k without shipping to India (seller does not ship to India) and performance racing store quotes 8.5k for the paddock without the bobbins.

                • nicely done! that handle could injure someone tho.

doesn't the R15 paddock stand work too? with a minor mods.

For the measurements you can check with Prasanna at PBK b'lore he was saying someone has already fabricated the stand...

Regarding sourcing the stand, I think Bachoo motors Mumbai charges around 5K + shipping from Mumbai... that would still be 3K cheaper than performance racing...

Hi.. I use Motul 300V FL 15w50 (Fully synthetic) on my Ninja.
The reason I changed was I was taking the bike to the track.
Frankly the bike behaves a bit sluggish when its cold... Once its really hot it makes very smooth.

If you are not planning to take the bike to track soon.. you may stick to semi synthetic which should be good enough... However if you do change to FS.. ensure that you warm up the engine for minute or 2 before you start ripping to avoid wear and tear.

I've been wanting to get one of these made for ages.. but the measuments were always the issue. If we got hold of an original, this could be easily be made by the metal works ppl near Lalbagh... and it would cost a fraction of what the others are charging.

                        • Hello fellas,

need a little guys. my bike's low beam headlamp gave up for 6000kms
so i have been to service center for change of headlamp. the service people were quoting 600 for the change of bulb.

felt like why don't i change it my self and save some penny's
any guess how much the lamp costs and it would be helpful

                          Thanks

600 bucks for a single bulb is pretty steep. It should cost much lesser if you can source it locally.

Check with the service center on the make of the bulb and other specs and try sourcing it at local shops. Be cautious of fakes that are sold at these shops though.

I used to have Philips Rallye 130/100w bulbs in my esteem but it used to give up in around 6-8 months. Couldnt find a genuine one so went back to OEM bulbs.

If you are not sure if the bulbs are genuine, dont take a risk and void the warranty. It can prove costlier if some electrical damage occurs due to some malfunction.

I won't be riding in any racetrack.... I use it daily for my office commute & for nice long weekend rides .

I was thinking of buying Motul 7100 4T 20W50. Any idea where i can get the real stuff in India ?

I would suggest you to go for Motul Semi Synth 5100 15w50 instead. It will be slightly thinner compared to the 20W50 oil and hence will lubricate better in cold conditions.

But since you are in Chennai, 20w50 should work fine.

I checked motul.com but couldnt find any distributor in chennai. Try sourcing it from GP road (General Patters road).
