However, the break-in restrictions are really painful
almost wondered if the bike was worth it... but then read some of the old posts in this thread and felt relieved with what lies post 1600 kms

also bought the bike cover from Sai Service Pune itself. Paid 380 for it, but dont think its original.... doesnt say Ninja or Kawasaki anywhere... is that so for the cover?

Really felt the need for saddle bags on this trip itself. With the back problem that i anyways have, this will be definitely worthwhile.
PC: did you get a the green 1 ? I think I saw you on palm beach rd.
P.S. saw 3 Ninjas yest 1 black, 2 green, all of them were in the run-in I guess and looks like its a sign I might get my hands on one I guess

The 250R is an import. Trends in indian market cannot bring about any changes on an international bike !

The plastics look dated, the bike is heavy and there are other minor downsides to the ninja 250R ! But thats also because its a budget bike that needs to deliver performance while keeping the costs down. And it does that splendidly !
The 250R is a Japanese and I for one would think twice before spending my money on any Indianised/Italiansed (made wherever/re badged wherever) product.
        And a V can never ever match a I.

            • that's what they say.

based on a screen capture from the teaser video indicating a twin exhaust setup.

This topic is debatable indeed, but we can carry it else where.
A V is all about torque (pork), and I is about flogging till kingdom comes, I prefer the later and stand by it.
Put Ducati's V in a Jap chassis to know the best. (ducks for cover & runs far far away)

The new Mahindra? Perhaps, this is what is being hinted at and hope it is one.
Many are waiting for a V-Twin.

OT--Gosh! I am about to ride a RE for full 350kms, dunno how will I manage it.

Not that Ninja owners will be looking to keep an eye on the mileage, but it would be nice to have an idea of the amount of fuel in the tank, especially on long rides where fuel stations are sparse.
Reason for 250r not having a digital console is because its a entry level motorcycle. In north america ppl buy the 250 r bikes to learn to ride bikes and needles in the speedo are easier to read than digital, initially to begin with.Just one glance at the needle u can guess the speed. Its like those conventional pressure gauges in 2-seater planes as apposed to glass-cockpit in the boeing's and airbus's.

Bikes under 250cc (I think 33BHP counts here, more than CC) are used by people holding restricted license (below 17/18/21 years) in US; understood. Also this might change in future.

But digital speedometer!! Is that your perspective??

@ TH: Maybe you can give me the best input on my above query.

                          • Racefit does not have an exhaust for the Ninja 250R. Just remember that Tenhut's bike is a 1000cc superbike and you will never get that sound on a 250R, no matter which exhaust you buy.

I have heard a lot of aftermarket exhausts for the 250R, and I now realize that the stock pipe sounds the best on this bike.

I did feel the difference in CC cud be a reason for me to not get a racefit for my ninja...

even like i like the stock ninja sound but after going to thru TH's 45pages thread on the CBR plus the growler videos made me ask the above question...

thanks for confirming that i can only dream of the same for my N250R... maybe i can look forward for it when i do an upgrade frm the ninja...

                              • Yup - exhaust upgrades make sense only when you buy an inline four bike or equivalent (Duc/HD). Spending money on an aftermarket exhaust for the 250 is a waste of good money, IMHO.
