Because of that, you were running on single cylinder. The cylinder which was working got overloaded, and resulted in red hot header.

The functional cylinder as propelling you and driving dead cylinder also.
    Symptoms of this problem:
    1. inconsistant power output.
    2. overall Power output lesser than half.
    3. over heating in overloaded cylinder

As you said there was water seeping in, i would advice you to get the compression pressure checked for both the cylinders. Ideally, the differance between them should not be more than 5psi
Thanks for the info. I will get the compression checked. The part of the exhaust where the exhausts from the two cylinders come together that was the one that was hot.

Yes, AFAIK, that is the water evaporating.

          Hallo Guys

I am facing wired problem with my green machine when i Ride at low RPM (In Traffic) suddenly bike RPM Gose from 3K to 5 Or 6 k continuously (But only at low rpm this happens) i check with with Service Center guys as well as bike check by Bajaj Sr engineer Mr. Ayachit also when he was in Mumbai he told me this is low RPM issue and i need to adjust RPM everytime but its not solving my problem.

Is it Fuel Injection System problem ? (Because when RPM suddenly gose up to 5 or 6k from 3k i can feel the same thing when i turn the ignition on and its continuous)

i dropped my ninja in my parking and after that the RPM on idle rose to 3 k when starting and settles back to 1.5 / 2k. which was earlier 2 k and 1.5 k. your case high rpm means more fuel is going in to the engine, possibly requiring a recalibration and idle adjustment of you fuel injectors sort of minor work at PBK. as electronics controls the fuel flow, they have provided the engine kill switch in case bike tries to shoot on its own.

I faced a similar problem, albiet at high RPM. I did not notice the RPM meter, as I was busy checking out the speedo, so I can relate the problem only in terms of speed.

On one of my highway rides, as soon as I went above 100, I noticed a sudden loss of power in the bike and between 100 and 120 there were these sudden fall in RPM and equally sudden a surges in power.

Before I could research it properly, I ran out of road. Never noticed this issue at lower speeds / rpm.

The FI system at fault again?

                      • Hi Guys:

Writing after a while...hope all of you are doing well.. i'm here with a problem...my ninja knocks ..may be once a day since the past 3 days...have done 8k on the odo. there was less fuel once so i topped the tank like i usually do...after topping it knocked once in 15 kms of riding. I'm wondering what that could be? any advice!!

Also noticed when i opened the tank lid..there was some water deposited inside the tank lid...i thought that was strange... i soaked all the water inside the tank lid with my handkerchief..few drops of water did fall inside the tank & now i'm wondering what the problem is?? i would be thankful for any advice.

                        • water depositied inside the tank lid is normal and not a problem. The key doesnt go through and through so any amount of water inside the lid is no problem at all.

I dont know the cause of your problem but all I can tell is you can look elsewhere than water inside the lid.

                          Good luck !

@ten & all: thanks ...i'm going to the bajaj workshop tomorrow, the ninja mechanic says he will put air pressure on the tank lid to get the dirt off the lid & tank then water will not deposit further inside the lid??.

I have been riding in a lot of rain & dirt... i am a non technical bike guy... but as a car owner .. i think some filter or some part is marginally not doing to good..may be chocked due to bad fuel (i fill speed or power in mumbai) ..water entering...etc,, can i ask them to inspect these parts...but frankly dont know what they should inspect.. could you guys help troubleshooting... so i could tell them""WHAT" to check...thanks...

                              • Hi guys, finally managed to pickup an FZ hugger today. I know blue volt has posted the step by step guidelines to install the hugger on the ninja. However i am not very good with tools. Can someone do it & fit it for me??? Would really appreciate it. Anyone else waiting to fit the hugger, we can jam up & execute.
