  • GoPro Motorsports camera on a Ninja 250R

This isn't more about the Ninja. Its about a GoPro mounted on the bike. Observe how steady it is and the clarity it provides. I love it!

That makes two of us - I just bought the True HD Go pro recently, haven't tried out yet! After watching your video, I can't wait to try it out!

Which model did you buy? I bought the HD motorsports hero...Did you also buy the handlebar accessory? I bought it for $30 as an extra.

I didn't buy the HD version. The suction cup and few other 3M adhesive based mounts came along with the package. Didn't spend more on it.

You can buy them from Planet DSG (planetdsg.com) or from abroad.

Google for more choices and websites. eBay also is an option.

I don't see a discount there. The actual HD product is 300 bucks. See here: GoPro Official Store: Wearable Digital Cameras for Sports

                • Third Service update

Pardon me! for my absence...leaving the reasons behind, lets get to the point. I completed 12k last week, accrued by
daily commute and couple of 1k+ rides.

I had been facing some power problem with the battery prior to this service. At a point, the battery had become weak to an extent that I was not able to start the bike. A couple of visits to the service station for refresh charging lasting 10 hrs didn't help much either. Finally, I had to submit the battery for further analysis while I was riding on a standby battery. The result of the analysis pointed out a battery fault. The replacement battery arrived a week later and got it fitted during this service. The probiking guys did manage the whole thing well. Now thinking back, not sure if the frequent signal halts (Save fuel habit :-|) during commute had taken a toll on it. Anyways, I have begun to refrain from halting unless it is a long wait. I hate the traffic signals in B'lore as they don't display the wait time at most of the junctions.

The clutch cable had to be replaced for obvious reasons. I chose to change the oil to Motul 300V 4T 15W50. The green oil has rendered the engine smooth, the revs are quicker and the gear changes are less audible. Has anyone tried Bizol here?

Ok...the main advantage would be that site gives a flat $25 shipping so I may save some cash there.. Thanks for the link though

                    • rains and ninja ...

Its raining like hell in NCR and my ninja is generally parked in the open in my office. Just wanted to ask if the rains would be causing a problem to the bike. How is everyone else managing the rain?

That should not cause any problem untill your fuel tank cap is closed & the water is not entering the silencer. But i would recommend you to wipe off the excess water after the raining stops & use a bike cover. Thats enough.

the newer models, both HD and non HD, come with all the possible mountings included in the box. For the older ones one had to buy extra mountings.
The newer ones also support 32 GB memory card ( old = 2GB untill u do a firmware upgrade)

Xiinfi..careful with the suction mount...it can come off after an hour or so..
its best to stick the suction cap on the surface all through the night and then check it out the next day if it is still holding ...if yes that surface is safe...
I have had my cam dropping off twice while in motion as the thing sticks to some surfaces only for an hour or so.
                          The cam never broke though

Thanks for the tips - did your cam come with a handlebar mount? I had a lot of attachments in the package - suction cup, pivot x-y-z and the zing bang, but not the handlebar attachment, which I had to buy as an extra. And mine say it can support upto 32GB SD cards... I bought a 8 gig class 4 SD card to go with it.

This is the one I have...I have not put the cam into action, but it seems like a great setup. And rider's discount is a great place to buy, I bought an Arai Corsair V from them recently, and their service is quick and prompt. But I had my helmet ship to a US location though instead of India.
