5.5 is prolly the upper limit for how much a 2003 954RR should cost.

    MHO1 registration???

if papers are clean. ish. and it's in really good shape then yea. it's worth it.

    954RR. Best Blade ever!!!

    • count me in

      Hi people

Count me in in the green brigade. Actually i got my ride on 24th sep but wanted to go through all the posts on this thread(which took me several days) before posting a message.

I wanted to share with you all my first service experience at ghatkopar shreeram bajaj. I went for the service this Tuesday. Mr. P informed me that it would be done in 3 hrs time. I was told that they used valvoline oil. I told them that i wanted to see the oil before before being put in the bike.
when the SC guy showed me the oil, it was in an open plastic jar. I then insisted on seeing the bottle and he said it was loose oil.
I told Mr P that there was no way i would be filling this up in my bike. Then he showed me an open can of Castrol GTX and told me that they were having shortage of oil so were using this one. I told him that I was ready to wait but pls bring me proper bike engine oil. And so i waited. by that time another green owner had come for his first service. I told him the situation and he concurred. After waiting for some half an hour when there was no response from SC, we told Mr P that we would go and bring the oil ourselves, and so we went...what we could get was Bajaj DTSi 10000 20W50 MA2 standard.
That oil was filled up and off we went.

Anybody else who has used this oil...would appreciate some feedback since i am a little skeptical about its performance in the Ninja...

Buddy, just a thought - ANYTHING truly waterproof will necessarily have to seal/close/zip up really good and therefore be quite warm to wear in our climate. Do you really see yourself riding in those conditions all the time?

That said, I have been caught out on the bike a couple of times in heavy rains with my regular street boots and even though they do have very good air vents, my feet remained dry. So I would say that unless you do plan to ride in wet weather regularly, standard street boots or even what TV suggested would serve well.

At the risk of being even more OT, I just wanted to share a little more -

I have several friends who are seasoned bikers and have noticed that most of them have two kinds of riding gear, one for hot weather/regular use and one for wet/touring use. So they dress for the ride/destination/weather conditions. Obviously we all can't afford to go out and get two sets of dedicated gear immediately, so in that scenario I would choose to go for the gear that would serve MOST of my regular riding and in India, that would be lightweight/street/breathable/vented gear in my case. So that's what I did.

Now that I DO have a good set of regular use gear, I'm looking at building my less used - touring/wet riding gear wardrobe. In fact, after reading your post, I'm planning to pick up a pair of JR Sonic's too!! Please do post a review if you pick up a pair! Er...but I think perhaps it would be better in the riding gears thread!!

well the ideal gear is one which feels like there is no gear. in south on plains waterproofing ( 100% ) means discomfort. that's for the boots too. getting your boots wet is okay as long as the quality is maintained. just dry it up after the ride. long rides take a couple of dry socks. take it easy with the boots. it helps.

              • Bike Update

                Hello fellas
                Done 6750kms on my bike.

                Problems faced
clutch cable gave up, had to get a new one. cost incurred 950 including Labour
                cable costs Rs 801

also changed the headlamp. ninja original replacement head lamp costs Rs 901 labor charges excluded.and wasn't really happy with its pricing so, went for pulsar 220 headlamp. its a straight and correct fit but a different brand thats it and saved a straight Rs 600 savings.

                About riding
Felt a lot of difference(riding safe) with the headlamp On and without.

I vote my bike with headlamp On (felt safe with headlamp On day/night).
                Now Riding

                      • Motorcycle Ownership Experiences

                        hi all,

Today morning a sad incident happened..

when i was about to start for my office on my bike... it no longer looked the same bike that i had left it yesterday night...

some one had removed the Keiti tank pad protector from my bike. Though my bike was parked in my society, where many gaurds are present, but still have no idea, who must have done it.
It had been removed very professionally, as thr were no scratches of blade or otherwise.
For the thief , i really do not think that the tank pad can now be of any use, as it might have lost adhesive factor, but i think the soul purpose was to harm the bike(the looks ) and something serious might occur in future..

Please i need ur comments on it, so that i can protect my bike from future mischievious acts .

PS: can some central locking be installed, i am already using the cover purchased from bajaj, but have my doubts as it does not have a locking mechanism.
                        RIP Marco

This is definitely to harm the asthetics of bike... raise your voice in building and keep it a front parking closer to guards and yourself.... central locking messes wiring in a few years so i am not sure on that front.....

This is simply some very sub standard thinking and action from some person with no ethics. Shame on people who do such things.

Me thinks the intention was to remove the tankpad and stick it on his bike. If he wanted to damage something he wouldnt have been so slick.

Get a bike cover that has holes to accommodate chain locks for the front and rear wheels and in the center. This way no one can lift up the cover and vandalize your bike. Bluevolt has a similar cover from Oxford (RainX model).
