The volume of the smoke is like somebody has lighted up a few incense sticks. It seems to be around the radiator area. It happens, when the bike has come to a halt at a traffic signal or similar. After a few seconds of stoppage, the smoke starts. The Thane PBK guys have checked the electricals "thoroughly" and said there is no problem. Have any of you faced this problem. I am very worried.

Note: I recently had an accident, the front tyre gave way on a hairpin bend in the ghats and resulted in a tank slapper on the left side. Damage to side fairing(replaced), indicator gone(replaced) and gear lever was also replaced.

    Thanks

Just back from a very heavy rain ride...
It's just due to the water droplets evaporating on the radiator...
You will see this only when you stop mid-way on a rain ride else its not visible at all

Some more eye candy from my end to all the Ninja lovers

      1. Particulate matter due to pollution floating about in the city's air high above in the stratosphere gets dissolved in the rain droplets as they are first formed.
      2. Now these rain droplets when falling towards earth get heated up due to the friction with other particulate matter floating around. This results in the droplet heating up which gives the dissolved particulate matter IN the droplet enough kinectic energy to kick start a toxic but otherwise harmless chemical reaction between the petrol and the diesel particles. The droplet will soon explode if the heating continues but unfortunately the rain droplet achieves its terminal velocity and ceases to heat up anymore. The result is that the drop of water is now highly unstable and can be exploding any given moment. Its a ticking time bomb waiting to fall on the most expensive bikes down on earth.
      3. When you are standing at the signal there usually is a car somewhere around you thats running a radio. These radio waves are from the same stratosphere where our rain droplet became toxic and bio-hazardous. So the radio waves now penetrate through this water droplet while in the air and infuse more potential energy into it. This results in the rain droplets gaining in size.It is also here that the radio waves, through their sun rays like heating effect, make the inside of the water droplet conducive for life and micro-organisms start breeding on the petrol-diesel molecules.
      4. When this dear rain droplet nears the earths surface the micro-organisms in it see a green or a black ninja and say..'aahhh a 3 lac bike..that bike heats up for sure' and steer the droplet for YOUR bike straight away. On collision of this droplet with the heated radiator of the bike, this droplet then explodes.BOOM
      5. Thankfully the explosion isnt as bad as we first set out thinking it would be and our whole theory is rendered obsolete. Its merely evaporation

        • thanks a lot guys. After all your replies, and the science fiction writing provided by tenhut, I am more confident to go out on a ride. And for the sake of science, this particular phenomenon would be vaporization as in boiling, not evaporation.

              • By the way, i would just like to caution some of the newer rider's of the ninja about the behaviour of the bike in sharp turns (something I learnt from my recent accident). All those who have graduated from the lighter Indian bikes (150's ..180's etc) please note-

Please note what i mention below is relative to my experience on my Pulsar 180-

The front end of the bike offers somewhat less feedback to the rider as to how much weight there is on the front wheel. This becomes especially important when you riding enthusiastically on a ghat section of the road (climbing) and if the road changes camber angle in a U turn. In my case all the above mentioned conditions were satisfied and the front end just gave way and obviously rest is history.

This is just my opinion and open to debate.

                • I read a couple of pages back with people having issues with the rear brake. The brake pedal does not respond when you press it, and then you gotta release, and pump again to get some braking going.

According to a friend, its possibly due to keeping your foot resting on the brake lever. Not sure if this is the issue observed, but do ride consciously and do report back!

Its due to water being splashed around on the header pipes. Nothing to worry.

Use a soft bristled toothbrush to clean the radiator. Dip the brush in a can of water (you can use a drop or two of shampoo if needed) and use the vertical motion to clean the muck off the radiator. No horizontal movements as it can damage the fins and block air flow.

Hi toolkit ! I would just like to add in my 2 cents as quickly and as shortly as possible.
The Ninja250R actually has more front feedback than any other bikes in India right now(except for the R15)
But suddenly loading the front is something that happens sooner on the Ninja than on any other indian bikes due to various reasons (its weight is front biased, it being a sportbike, and its got waaayyy more engine braking than any of the pulsars etc)
If you make mistakes with your throttle in a corner(going off throttle in a corner for example) you are gonna load the front of a Ninja250R in no time and thats probably what happened to you. Just sayin

@throttle_Grz : the rising sun concept is nice. Gotta see it in person. Me likes !

Excellent observation mate, I have seen many bikers who rest their right foot on the brake lever, as a result the brake light glows. I am very particular in this regard and my right foot is normally below the brake lever. Its an effort to bring it up and press the lever, but then i do not use the rear brake that much and because I have always been doing this it has become a habbit and comes naturally to me.
