Why additives should be avoided? Is that suggested by SVC?

Needless to say I started searching for a fuel station when the low light came on at 380.
What I have observed is that the fuel economy varies as per your riding style. During run-in period, I used to get an average of 35-38 kmph but as I started upshifting at higher and higher rpm, the fuel economy drops. I normally get an average of 22-25 kmph now a days (whether I ride in city or on highway).

However, if you ride between 80 - 110 kmph, you get maximum average.

              Absolutely....

My first full tank (duringf run-in) yielded me 540 kms ..before i hit the pump.. (got an average mileage of 36 and i was wondering whether it was a calculation mistake..)..then it became 34, then 30, then 28, then 25, then 22, then 20...
Imagine once i got 18 (thanks to the traffic in Hinjewadi) and i was wondering why i shouldnt buy a car!

I get around 320-330 on a tankful to first time the low fuel light comes up while going at contant speed on a level road. I guess that the range also depends on what your definition of a full tank is, as nobody would be filling up to the brim.

Even if your pet bottles are air tight, vapours can form inside the bottles which would have a lower ignition temperature than the liquid itself.
Plus, I think it is illegal as well, as most petrol pumps in Navi Mumbai have stopped giving petrol to motorists in soda bottles.

This wouldn't have been an issue if it was diesel we were talking about.
I will take care sir, will not do it unless absolutely necessary

Yeah, last time when I took her to Chail in H.P, I got 28- 29 KM/Litre, it was much better than 3 bullets that accompanied me..

                            • Getting 380 or 400 is not impossible , can be achieved if you are riding it like it was a boxer 100cc or CD 100 and at speeds of less than 70.

I too got 420+ during my running in, averaging out to be 36.. when i filled the bike to the brim line.

Now i generally get 320 -350 from brim to brim and when the light becomes more or less continuous while riding..

Wanted to ask what is the best way to set the trip meter to get the accurate mileage?

The best way is start the trip meter one the fuel lamp becomes solid, that means its solid amber during downhill as well as uphill. Coz initially it will go off and on for some time.

Fill up the tank, note how much petrol you've filled. And once the fuel lamp becomes solid again you have your total reserve to reserve mileage.

To find the "kitna deti hai" just divide with it with the amount of petrol used, but obviously you know that.
