  • Hey Guys,
Planning on buying the 250r pretty soon. Just got a couple of questions to clear up. Please excuse, if this has already been answered in earlier posts.

    1) First and foremost.. What's the waiting period for 250r black in bangalore?
    2) How bright are the headlights?(silly question), what I mean to say is, will it be good enough for Bangalore roads, knowing how the street lights are totally shut off after 11pm at some parts in Bangalore(got shifts). Why??? I need to see 'em potholes... mind you!
    3) How much does it usually cost for servicing?
    4) Long distance comfort level? Yeh or nay??
    5) Has anyone used the Pirelli SD tires on the 250r? Any good?
    Speed - (spēd) n.
    a.The act of moving rapidly.
b.The state of being in rapid motion; rapidity.
    Slang. A stimulant drug

Check with PBK.. I think black is available easily.
      2) How bright are the headlights?(silly question), what I mean to say is, will it be good enough for Bangalore roads, knowing how the street lights are totally shut off after 11pm at some parts in Bangalore(got shifts). Why??? I need to see 'em potholes... mind you!
The headlight are very good . it has 55W x 2 bulbs and are very powerful.
      3) How much does it usually cost for servicing?
      First service (1000kms) =Rs. 1500
      2nd (6000kms) =Rs. 800
      3rd (12000kms) =Rs. 6500
      4th (18000kms) =Rs. 800
The above data on the pricing is the Bajaj estimate +/- couple of bucks, it might vary according to your riding habits.. (Expenditure on brake pads etcc.. )

      4) Long distance comfort level? Yeh or nay??
Depends on your bum capacity... Though pretty comfortable for long distances. but in early days of riding days(until you get accustomed) might need breaks at 100kms or so..
      5) Has anyone used the Pirelli SD tires on the 250r? Any good?
Pirelli are the best available tires in India for N250.. Easily available.

This info is already on the first page. I had sent a pm to thread starter to edit his thread to include the websites etc. However, he has not responded. Must be busy.

              • Hey guys..

Need suggestions for saddlebags for our Ninja's if anyone has tried any specific models? I inquired about Cramster's saddlebag-Colt and they refused saying it will not fit the Ninja as it has mono shock and with the bag not getting the required support it will touch the wheel.
Can anyone suggest some other good saddlebags for the ninja OR some jugaadh for COLT ?

I think the one being refereed to here is the Rjay's super sports pannier. costing around 8.5k ..

@Swaroop: you might want to go for Tail bag instead of saddle ones.. I use the first gear onyx... which will cost you some 100$

check this : Firstgear Onyx Tail Bag - RidersDiscount.com

Firstly please do not use sms language here.. Otherwise also i was not able to understand what you want to ask... but i was finally able to make some sense out of it after reading it a couple of times.

Ninja 250R uses NGK CR8E plugs and which are good enough for the bike .. do not know why you want to change it, but if you insist still to go ahead with the change , you can use the Gpower or the iridium ones from NGK..

                        • Update about Ninja Headshake :

Some days back, I had mentioned about violent head shake by Ninja. (If you rev bike above 9-10k and leave both hands, the handlebar shakes violently)

Today I tested my own bike with brand new rims and tires. There is absolutely no headshake.

This proves that the problem lies either with rims or with tires.

Now next step would be to check whether rims are slightly bent. If they are straight, will need to try to refit the current tires or install new tires.

In addition to what has been suggested above i would also recommend RJays Platinum Series Elite tailbag.

Here is what it looks like...

And this is what it looks like when expanded:

I could easily fit in stuff that i required for a 3 day stay. And in addition i was carrying a can of chain lube, bike cover which actually is my car cover , spare visor, and lot of other accessories.

Absolutely no issues in handling as weight is evenly distributed. The bag sits securely on the bike and there are multiple options to fasten the bag to the bike like bungee straps, velcro straps etc.

P.S. You can contact Zulfi (link) for RJays stuff. He is the official importer and distributor for RJays products in India. I did not find this bag on his website but you can order it from him. I remember he posted about it on his fb page (a pic of my bike with the bag is on that post).

Thanks for the update Vishwas. Me thinks the problem is with the tires. I experienced this headshake even when the bike was spanking new.... so i doubt if it has to do with the rims.... since new rims wont be bent, it might be due to the tires.

I shall check with Asim (killer instinct) on this as he has changed both the front and rear tires on his bike to Pirelli Sport Demon.
