DTSI oil is not good enough. If you feel the gearshifts have become hard or if you have trouble finding neutral while stopped, it is time to change the oil.

The transmission is equipped with a positive neutral finder. When the motorcycle is standing still, the transmission cannot be shifted past neutral from 1st gear. To use the positive neutral finder, shift down to 1st gear, then lift up on the shift pedal while standing still. The transmission will shift only into neutral.Originally posted by maheshkmr View Post

[QUOTE=maheshkmr;817261]
a weird noise (something like worn bearing noise) coming from the front wheel I guess....highly evident in 4 th gear doing 60 kmph.
Same kind of problem I am facing with my bike during 2nd servicing I explained this to servicing guy but he blaimed the noise to Brake pads since its new pads it will worn out in some Kms and noise will get vanished but even after 4k kms after changing the brake pads problem still exists. currently Bikes odometer reads 11,XXX kmsNever bark with horn Roar with exhaust

I hop so. The problem is pbk takes many days to rectify minor problems or an oil change. My last oil change took 6 days and a front tyre and disc pad replacement took 3 days. Looks like they are not interested to service ninjas.Originally posted by harikeshpk View Postdo your 4th service. problem may be sorted out on its own. then take the bike out for an early morning spin. see how things are. my bike is due for the 3rd service. hope to do it next week.
btw wich oil are you using?
Thanks for the information vishwas ji. I knew that ninja is equiped with a positive neutral finder but I didnt know we cannot shift past neutral. Thanks for let us know the proper function of it. It is a good thing.Originally posted by trustvishwas View PostThe transmission is equipped with a positive neutral finder. ya, DTSi is crap. I did 2 oil changes in the last 4 k kms, I think the oil loses its viscosity after 1 k kms.
btw which oil you are using? I would like to use Motul 5100 15w 50 in the next service so i bought it recently. In the past pbk refused to do it and said it will void warranty.
Hmm same happend to me. service guy said it is because of the worn disc pad. So he replaced the pad but problem stille exists. In my case it is more evident in 4 th gear at 60 kmph. It feel like something is scraping somewhere in non linear fashion. I think bearing is the culprint. Mine odo reads 17.3 k. I will let you know when i sort out the issue.Originally posted by Kiran bhor View PostSame kind of problem I am facing with my bike during 2nd servicing I explained this to servicing guy but he blaimed the noise to Brake pads since its new pads it will worn out in some Kms and noise will get vanished but even after 4k kms after changing the brake pads problem still exists. currently Bikes odometer reads 11,XXX kms

[QUOTE=Kiran bhor;817842]Can it be the Speedo Worm gear assembly needing lubrication? I guess this thread had a similar issue discussed long time ago.Originally posted by maheshkmr View Posta weird noise (something like worn bearing noise) coming from the front wheel I guess....highly evident in 4 th gear doing 60 kmph.

If that is the case, Lithium grease has to be put on the assembly.

I hope Speedo worm gear assembly means wire which is connected to front wheel from left side if i am not wrong
but for that we may need to remove front wheel for lubricating or
can I lubricate it from outside(practically not possible)
Never bark with horn Roar with exhaust

[QUOTE=Kiran bhor;818300]Yes.I am afraid you will have to remove the front wheel. Better take it to the SC and ask those guys..they should be familiar with the issue by nowOriginally posted by Mithungo View Post

P.S: You will be able to pop out the assembly easily once the wheel is removed.

I am using 5100 currently. I think that Motul 300v factoryline is the best but most expensive. 5100 is a good compromise. Till now, I have never heard of PBK refusing to change to your preferred oil. Also there is no question of it voiding warranty. Company specifies only the grade of oil to be used and not the brand. As long as you are using similar grade oil, it does not affect warranty.Originally posted by maheshkmr View Postbtw which oil you are using? Those guys are taking you for a ride. Call up Bajaj service In-charge for your region in front of the mechanic and ask him point blank whether replacing oil would void your warranty.Never argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.

I changed my oil to 5100 at 3700 kms and then to 7100 Fully Synthetic (single ester) at 10,000 kms on my ninja. No issue with warranty. This was done at the bajaj (khivraj) service center with the service people themselves changing the oil.
I would strongly suggest you to go with Motul 7100 fully synth oil as it is miles ahead in terms of performance compared to 5100. After i put the 7100 the bike is butter smooth and as good as new. Only difference between the 7100 and 300V is that 7100 is single ester and 300V is double ester. 300v costs 950 bucks a liter while this costs around 700 bucks a liter. I change oil every 5k kms although it will last easily for around 7k kms at least.
If the service folks have an issue, call the customer care number listed in the owners manual.ATGATT - Because hospital ceilings are boring !!!

They said that because company recommended grade is 20W50 while Motul 5100 is 15W50. They said, come with any 20W50 oil....we can change it, non recommended grade oil will void your warranty.Originally posted by trustvishwas View PostI am using 5100 currently. This time I can only change to 5100 because I already bought it by reading your old post about 5100. Next time I will try 7100. Thank you for leting us know the good oil for Ninja. I may call the customer care this time because I am really fed up by the pbk....lot of issues....Originally posted by n_aditya View Post+1 to what Vishwas mentioned.

In my bike, the first oil change was to the bajaj dtsi oil at the first service, and second oil change was to yamalube 15w50 ss at about 4000kms... I believe yamalube uses all motul products in its range, please correct me if I'm wrong...Now offering Tyga Performance products in India - Brought to you by Midnight Trades

Used to is the word, i believe now some other company manufactures the yamalube products. This was discussed in some other threads too. Dont know about the source but many members backed this claim.Originally posted by psych0hans View PostIn my bike, the first oil change was to the bajaj dtsi oil at the first service, and second oil change was to yamalube 15w50 ss at about 4000kms... Can be easily verified by checking the manufacturing address, if its same as motul then its fine i guess.
Cheers mate

Ninja ecu remap
Does any one have any experience with this? ECU remap by Kiirus Autosports for Kawasaki Ninja 250R priced at INR 20,000. ~ BiKoholic I mailed them and they quoted me 24,000/- for the same... A bit steep, don't you think? Especially when the KTM remap costs 10k...Last edited by psych0hans; 05-24-2012, 07:03 AM.Now offering Tyga Performance products in India - Brought to you by Midnight Trades
