I would suggest this one instead.

Why? Because in addition to providing much needed protection from scratches, the stomp grips also helps in gripping the tank tightly and avoiding any slipping from the seat under hard braking.

Here is a link on how you can install it on the bike.

An update on spare prices as well: The front fairing now costs ~15k , Headlight ~9k and Headlight Bracket ~9k.
thnx for the update on the spares mate. This is a poor man's sbk so can't complain

So regarding your service query, it all depends on your dealer and your rapport with him. Best to ask him and find out. No harm in it.

I did my 3rd service at 14k kms instead of 12k kms since i had switched to fully synth oil at 10k and did not want to waste the oil in just 2k kms. The service personnel were helpful and understanding and had no issues.

Nice pics dude. Looks like you both are inseparable. Safe rides to you mate.

Looks nice and simple too. And comes with any kind of branding required as per the ad.

However there is no history about the seller so if there is any kind of buyer protection, then advisable to go ahead with the purchase.

      • Some advice from owners

        Hey guys,
I am looking to upgrade my bike, recently test drove the Ninja 250r.I am just in love with it.I especially like the Green colour very much.I have some queries ,which I know, only the owners can clarify
The green Ninja attracts a lot of attention.I am fine with the attention it gets as long as i am on the bike or near it,but my fear is the attention it gets when it is parked.
Are you guys facing any issues during parking it in public places?I will use the bike as an everyday bike,so will be parking it a lot in public places.
Are there any security systems available to prevent persons from meddling with the bike?

Recently I went to nainital on my bike and parked it outside CCD, when I was leaving I noticed a small crowd around my bike, I was like WTF!!! Those guys were taking turns on my bike and taking pictures... Really pathetic how some people behave with others belongings... I fired those guys saying "my bikes not a tourist attraction"... *sigh!!!*

Yes, though it is just a 250cc and globally know as a starter's bike, its appearance does attract lot of unwanted attention. Redlights, parking areas, shopping malls, traffic police, almost everyone who notices it wants to explore it. I've been stopped by the cops more than 5 times in 3 months. as a comparison, I've not been stopped 5 times in total in the 8 and a half years since I started riding bikes on the road.

and this really disappoints me. I honestly cannot use this bike like any of the other bikes I had previously.
Just because you haven't seen it doesnt mean its impossible...expect the unexpected.

Have a feeling that things are a lil expensive in singapore and malaysia would be a better choice to source the parts. These are the parts am looking for
              1) Smoked Wind screen
              2) Adjustable rear sets/ Riser plates
              3) Adjustable brake and clutch levers
              4) Some graphics and rim tapes.

Should you know any in malaysia..plz do let know.

              Thx
              Jakrap
I'd check with a dealer in SG during my last visit...got to know that since they (SG) do not retail the Ninja 250R there, no parts readily available in SG...he himself suggested that Thailand is the best bet...

browse the site and take your pick.

                highly reliable and very effective.

i agree the green ninja gets more attention and sometimes it does get irritating.

I politely ask people to admire it from a distance and to not touch the bike. There is a display/demo bike at the showroom to molest. Its natural human tendency to spin out of control when a green ninja is in the parking lot... we've seen that even a ducati that costs 3 times more will be ignored.. even if its in RED.

So thats a ninja for you. Be polite to them and they will oblige. Being rude will label one as arrogant and snobbish. I dont let the bike out of my sight when i ride out. Breakfast is in the parking lot

P.S. Almost no one has respect for others property in this country. Can't change that mate I wonder how they would react if we would climb into their car and fiddle with their gas/clutch/brake pedals.

Agree with Aditya here. Go for the Xena XX6. it is loud
And easy to carry as well. Should cost you ~4k to get one - without import costs.

I totally agree. Some people do the heinous act of scratching etc!.It would really break my heart if something of that sort happens to my bike.

And regarding Xena,Can I install it immediately after buying the bike?.Will it void the warranty?

Regarding the Xena disc alarm lock, there is no modification whatsoever that needs to be done to the bike. Its a lock that fits onto the brake disc rotor and is a standalone device. Comes with shock/motion sensing alarm and depending on the model you get between 110 and 120dB of loudness in the alarm.

All you have to do it place the alarm unit (the lock itself) on the disc rotor and push down the locking pin and voila, the lock arms itself in a few seconds. Go for the XX-6 since you can carry it under the pillion seat. If you want additional security see the bullet alarm locks. these are U locks which will lock the wheels to the fork thru the spokes.

See the link in my earlier post and go thru the site for videos and all your doubts will get clarified.

                        OT but..
When I just travel without boots\jacket they do stop me \ ask to switch off the light. But cops wave me across when they see me coming in full riding gear

Oh,I assumed it needed to be connected to the battery!.Very convenient if it can be stored in the bike itself. Will definitely go through the site. And Thanks

Good luck with your purchase, don't worry the bike is worth every penny, I'm sure you won't be disappointed...

I don't think the Xena lock will void your warranty, as it comes with its own battery backup and does not interfere with the bikes electricals...

                            • Solo trip to Nainital

Made my first Solo trip to Nainital today, lots and lots of twisties... No fast turns though, the average speed was about 40-60km/hr as the roads are very narrow and turns are quiet sharp... Lots of on coming traffic too... Here's a link of my route on google maps... Not my first trip, but my first trip alone...

Overall a great ride, really getting a hang of counter steering now, though I'm not as smooth on the throttle as I would like... Something weird happened today though, that I'm a bit confused about being happy, or bummed about... While taking a particularly sharp down sloping left hander, my left foot scraped the ground... Not sure if it's a good thing... It did boost my confidence a bit though, as I figured I'd really have to be leaning in for it to happen... My temporary boost of confidence came plummeting very soon though, when I almost had a head on with an a$$hole overtaking a truck, at a blind turn completely in my lane... he didn't even have the decency to say sorry... what a prick... Ahh well, that was my day...

Sorry to burst your bubble. . . scraping your foot on the ground while cornering translates to wrong posture and does not relate to good cornering technique. Even when your bike is leaned enough to scrape your knee on ground, your foot should not be touching ground.
