The gear that you need for City Riding is:
      1. Jacket (Cramster and Planet DSG are the best for the money)
      2. Gloves (same as above)

      For Touring:
      3. Knee Guards (Cramster is the cheapest but I didn't find it good enough)
      4. Riding Boots. (Cramster seems ok; though I don't own one yet)

The brake travel was all messed up. Took her for a short spin a while back & she's back to normal . Iuse both brakes simultaneously while braking never skidded even in emergency situations.
Good to know its just a case of brake fade. The rotors do tend to overheat when you use the brakes constantly for that kind of distance. Its perhaps good to use both the engine and brakes to control speed.

Your pads are releasing gases under heavy braking. The gases are creating a repulsive action like that of two like pole magnets.

Brake fade due to overheating of rotors (or brake fluid boiling) happens but its highly improbable as traffic conditions are not enough to tax the rotors to such an extent. The 250R is a quality bike *thumbs up* !

Heavy braking when the brakes arent bed in yet is not good for your pistons
Since he has already completed close to a 1000kms I think the brakes would've bed-in properly, they usually do by 200-300 km.

They do fade from overheating if you use them constantly for a long distance.
Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle.

Go to probiker shop located just off MG road near ABN Amro bank. Buy tank pad worth Rs.100. It looks like carbon fibre and cheap enough that if you don't like it, can replace it. Please do not buy anything else from this shop. All items look good but the armour quality is pathetic and you are buying gear for safety and not for looks.

I would suggest that you should not make the same mistake I did. I tried to save money and buy cheap material. Within a month of so, I found out that the material is useless in case of crash so am now doing a step by step shopping.

Motorcycle boots are extremely cheap in US/UK. If you have someone coming down, please buy them there. Astar SMX5 water proof shoes cost Rs.25k+ here in Pune but cost 10k in US. I bought AXO Primato II shoes @ 144 USD.

                          Thanks bro.

That's my Ninja and we were at Devanahalli on Sat evening for the shoot. See my post on the previous page for the same pic.

Some more pics will be shot but at the moment we are thinking of some really good locations. Will put 'em up once we are done.

Edit - Thanks Asim. Your post was a full minute faster than mine. I'm still stuck at 4k RPM.

^^brake fade can happen in traffic as unknowingly you might be riding the brakes(rear in most cases) in heavy traffic, not a worry
