Re: Kawasaki Ninja 250R
Yes, they have zero depreciation. But they are the worst insurance company you'll find in terms of service. The transactions of insurance aren't cashless for starters. That's a major piss off. My bike had a small accident. The insurance claim was for 10k. This happened two weeks ago. I just got my bike back from the workshop. All because the insurance people delayed everything for two whole weeks. I would suggest against iffco.Originally posted by koolscorp View Posthi brother u can go for iffco tokio zero percent dep..will settle something close to 8k..it is worth in my opinion...

I figure, you are holding the grip too tight and when you brake, your body is pressing against your hand and your elbows are being put under pressure. This is theoritically only.
Since i have put this on my bike, the inside city is very comfortable on my wrist, where i used to have pain.
Also, i have an extra piece if you are not able to get it anywhere.

@keyrun
I use my bike as an every day bike with no problems what so ever.Only point u should be concerned about is the parking in public places. But what I've noticed is that,in any given parking lot, your bike is as safe as a R15 or CBR.Fared bikes always draw people
And using it everyday,If you say compare it with CBR which gives about 27kmpl in Bangalore traffic,A Ninja will give about 23-24.
Like me if you travel in semi/urban roads ,I get a constant 26kmpl per litre.
The linear power delivery and the gearing makes it easy to putter around town.A lot of people have talked about the lack of torque ,But I have never felt this even after switching from Fz16 much like yourself(mine was also the 1st gen,but it was joeled and produced massive torque which would put the 220 to shame)
The normal service will set you back by about 3k for normal service. It might be on the expensive side by the interval is 6k kms so its quite reasonable compared to bikes which have lesser interval(R15 3k kms)
Other common maintenance will be break pads which needs to be changed on an interval based on your riding style.(break pad costs 1.1k).
And regarding the accident part,Riding a bike like Ninja, At least for me I am extra cautious and extra careful, always reminding myself that I am riding a mini SBK(atleast on Indian Roads).
If sadly ,any mishap does occur you can always have some back up savings.
IMO i don't think its appropriate to back out of a decision of buying a dream bike solely on the basis of a worry that "what if I get into an accident".
If you are a purist and want unadulterated sheer performance,Ninja is the bike for you!

Ideally, the handlebars should be held really light. If you are putting excessive weight on your arms and wrists ergo the handlebar, the front will always be loaded and will result in less than ideal feel+feedback while cornering.Originally posted by vinbex View Postguys,i have a problem

Ideally any and every bike riding program you attend will explain the basics and relevance of having the right posture on the bike. However, for simplicity let me try and give you a solution in a basic way...
To reduce the stress on your arms and wrist, use your inner thigh muscles to clamp to the fuel tank while braking. Try out braking the way you usually do and then using almost no weight on the handlebar; feel the difference in the feedback and let us know.
You can also strengthen your back and abdominal muscles to maintain posture while braking and accelerating. That way, you wont have to put excessive pressure on a lot of your body parts which you would normally do.
Try and let us know if it worked for you.Never argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.
