Thanx a lot Sachin! But can you advice me whether I should change both the Bulbs or just the one which is fused?

I haven't ridden on the BIC but i have ridden my ninja at Kari in CBE... and have also witnessed scores of track days which had various classes (cc's) of bikes on the track at MMST when i used to take my car to the MMST track.

On a race track the smaller bikes will be able to take the corners much faster than their bigger siblings so the BIC is no exception. If you do get a chance to ride your bike at the BIC, please don't pass it up. It will be an awesome experience. Yes, the bike might feel underpowered on the straights but on the corners you can go flat out and take them at speeds much much higher than the liter bikes, all due to the nimbleness and lesser weight of the bike.

Go to youtube and see some video's of ninja's on the track. You will see the big bikes slow down at corner entry but the 250R can just go flat out with minimal deceleration.

I bought the ROLON chain and sprocket kit and it cost me 8k. Yet to change it although my odo reads 27k kms.

Check with trustvishwas, he might know where you can source it in mumbai/pune.

Excellent Vishwas. I rode to Agumbe and back over the weekend, a total of 800 odd kms and en-route to Agumbe, the speeds were restricted between 80 and 100 kays, due to single carriageway roads. Only on some stretches i did 140 or so and i got a mileage of 32kmpl.

You can change the filter once every 12k kms. Just ensure you remove it regularly, inspect it and clean it if it is dirty.

The dipper bulb of my N250 has gone kaput. I am looking for a replacement and the OEM Bulb costs 1K. Can anybody suggest some good option? I've searched the thread and found Philips Xtreme Vision to be the popular choice here. Any feedbacks from those who have installed them will be helpful.
Also, I need to know that should I change both the bulbs or just one.
I would suggest the Xtreme Vision bulbs from Philips as well.

The Xtreme vision product code is 12972 and the stock bulbs also have the same code. I did not want to use the new (xtreme vision) bulb in the low beam so i moved the high beam bulb into the low beam socket and installed the new bulb into the high beam socket. (Why did i do this? Call me crazy but since the high beam had been used for sometime and might have lower life compared to the new bulb, i did the swap to "optimize" the usage/cost/life whatever you may want to call it).

The new bulb is significantly brighter than the stock bulb and although philips claims that the xtreme vision has 100% more brightness i feel it's not 100% but at least 60% more brighter than the stock bulb. When i turn ON the high beam now, the low beam looks very dim in comparison. I have cruised at 120kmph at night and very comfortably. Go for the xtreme visions, they are the best option for replacement bulbs for the ninja right now at a cost effective price. Have been using for over a year and had no issues. Just stick to the stock rating of 12v 55W.

Just change the fused bulb like i did. No need to waste the good bulb

Sure, as long as the engine is not knocking you're OK. Don't lug the engine though (dont load the engine by riding in high gear at low rpm). Ride in the city as much as possible so you break in the gearbox and engine well. The city traffic will ensure your engine RPM's are varied constantly.

Thankyou Aditya and Sachin. I bought the Philips Blue Vision bulbs from Babloo Motors, Vashi, Navi Mumbai worth Rs. 500 each. It is having the same product code 12972 with rating of H7 12V 55W. It gives a bluish yellow light and though I didn't ride much on the highway but can say that illumination is better. I changed both the bulbs as I thought that it's better to maintain the same intensity of both the upper & dipper and also the bike won't look good if there are two different colors of light thrown.
So, the update is I changed both the bulbs and pretty happy with the replacement. I have kept the bulb which was unharmed for future. Though I don't think will use it again ever. The Philips Blue Vision is awesome enough.

Please help me & suggest, if any of you are aware of any group in NCR or in north India, who goes out to Buddha Circuit. It would just be great if I happen to get a group of N250s.

If not, anybody else who is a Ninja owner & wants to do track...... we could form a group of 4-5 and go to Buddha.....

If you manage to organise this, please let me know. I'd like to tag along - but not the BIC, it's too large to be of any use to practice riding on the N250.

            • Hi Guys,

i am posting here after a gap of several months. the bike has clocked 28800 Kms and the chain is due for replacement. Checked up today with KTM- Nerul and was verbally quoted approx Rs. 13000/- for the stock chain sprocket combo (i guess it includes labour charges as well). They are happy to fit an aftermarket chain like Rolon one if i bring it to them. Trouble is, don't know where to go in Navi Mumbai to get one.
Can Aditya or Vishwas post some pics of the chain and its packaging to help identify if it is the correct product. Will check up with Babloo motors in Vashi if they have it. A product code would also be helpful.

              Thanks
              Akshay

Please PM vishwas, he might know where you can source it from in Mumbai.

I bought it from a shop in Blore. They have one set in stock. If you want i can courier it to you. It is heavy so the shipping cost might be on the higher side.

The OE kit which PBK has quoted 13k is insanely overpriced. You'd rather buy this which will cost you USD 219.00 inclusive of shipping to India and will cost under INR 12k. This kit is the best you can get since DID is well known in the racing circuit for their high quality chains and JT is a leading OE supplier of sprockets to almost all the SBK's in USA.

I almost bought this but since the exchange value is crazy now i stayed put and ordered the ROLON's.

Do check on eBay. You might be able to get a good deal if it is available, although it is unlikely since I had to place an order for the kit and wait for a month to get it from the factory.

You can send a mail to the company but don't expect a response. I did not get one despite several mails and calls, so i had to place an order with my sources.

                          1. The engine is a high revving machine so as long as your engine oil is of good quality and the engine does not get overheated (lack of coolant in the reservoir) you can redline the bike all day long in every gear.

                          2. Any aftermarket filter is OK. K&N is the most popular choice, don't ask me why. But expect only a noticeable difference in low and mid range power... not a significant bump in power if you're expecting it.

                          3. No difference in intake noise with addition of an aftermarket air filter... thank goodness. I would hate it if the bike sounded like a dio or activa, croaking like a frog everytime the throttle was opened

                          4. Depends on whether you're riding on power mode or econo mode

                          5. If you want to go with Mineral - Motul 3100 Gold ; Semi synth - 5100 Motul 15W50 ; Motul Fully synthetic - 7100 20W50 Single Ester or 300V Racing Line Double Ester.

                          6. Slip-on is for sound only.. power bump is negligible. Full system is the best option as you get a significant power increase but best to go with full system, aftermarket air filter and a standalone ECU like PC III. With the power commander you will be able to tune the power curve for optimum performance.

It usually takes max. 2 phone calls to the local office of ROLON. Why 2? If the concerned person is out of office, you would be given his mobile number and then you would need to call him as well :-)

                              • Hey Guys,

Its been quite a while now since I posed anything here, more or less due to the fact that my work life takes a huge bite out of my daytime or due to the lack of any valuable pointers that I have to contribute to my fellow riders. However, an incident that occurred to me today morning have certainly given me something to yap about, so I thought I'd share it with you guys as well lol.

Today, I managed to save some time in the morning as it was rather unusual for me to be waking up anywhere near 8 am since I usually stay up till 3 or 4. I had half an hour to spare which btw was also unusual. So for the obvious reasons, obvious to obvious bikers, I made the obvious decision to take a long way to the office and spend some time with my baby.... So obvious!

As I was on my way more or less enjoying the morning polluted air, I came up behind a police car which while pulling up to an intersection came to a sudden halt. I followed suit and stopped right behind it easily since I was only doing about 40-50 kmph. Suddenly I felt a sudden push from behind and heard warping plastic parts. I switched to neutral and turned around to find this a****** (sorry) who had been on my tail trying to race me ever since I got my bike the first time. He'd never let me be, its almost as if i was put on this earth to race and lose to him or something. I had ( a long time back ) beaten this dude on my bike as he was trying to race me just because i overtook him unknowingly one night. He's had this grudge ever since. So ever since then, when ever this dude came to race me I'd just give way and let him overtake me since its obvious he was gonna crash into something eventually, little did I know it was going to be me who he crashed into...

                                And it gets better...

In response to my inquiry as to why he rammed into me in a slow moving traffic he asks me why I'm riding without paying attention to my rear view mirrors?. That really infuriated me,... I just wanted to stick a knife through this ******'s head. Not only did he ram into a stationary vehicle but is asking me why I'm not paying attention to his stupidity behind me. The conversations heightens and he starts insulting my mother and he started yelling out profanities to which i replied promptly while the traffic behind us was stuck. So I moved my bike to the side to check for damages and this guy just rode off. Luckily for me nothing happened to my bike except for a couple of scratches on the exhaust, which is due for an upgrade anyway so I just left it and rode to the next intersection. This dude comes up to the far side of the intersection avoiding the traffic cams as he was not wearing a helmet ( he never does ) and calls me out to the side in a threatening way. I respond and directs him to the traffic cop and I pull over near the cop who just walks away to the other side (-_-). He comes over after seeing the cop go away and pulls up away from the intersection. So after getting near him and he starts asking money for his damaged scooter. I told him get lost, if he was expecting me to give him a single penny for an accident that HE caused then he was demented and if he was so concerned about his vehicle, he should have been more responsible on the road. He started arguing how his scooter doesn't have good brakes like my bike and I shouldn't expect him to stop on time. I told him to to get a better bike and avoid riding like a maniac if his brakes are not so good. His arguments were very annoying to say the least and the entire drama went on for some time and eventually I asked him what his deal was?. Why every time he saw me, he always felt the need to race me, to which he responds, "You don't have riding skills but I do so I race... " I was literally mind******. His level of idiocy was so stupefying that I decided that it was not worth wasting my time on him anymore, hence I told him to get a life and I got on my bike and rode away.

Food for thought : He could have avoided all this drama by just saying sorry and we could have probably parted ways without any incidents.
