Did you have to weld a bung in to install the Auto tune on the exhaust or were you able to just remove the stock O2 sensor and use the same bung. If you welded a new bung is it possible for you to put up snaps. I need to install this for my bike and need an idea of how or rather where to do so. Will also be installing the LCD-200.
Thank you in advance for the assistance.
Hey bro, I have PCV and Autotune-200 I haven't really managed to get it set just right though. Still need to block off the kleen air system. and all that jazz... I installed it on an aftermarket exhaust, so I had to weld in a new bung, but you can just put it into the existing bung. I want to get the LCD as well, not sure if it's worth it tho... Just weld it into the "Y" pipe where the two headers meet... just make sure to weld it to the right and not in the center, as the auto tune sensor is longer than the stock one, so it will not clear the engine. I had to do mine twice... lol

Hi Bro, Thanks for the advise. Will try and fit in the same existing bung as i don't really want the headache of trying to get another one welded in though i will have to if necessary. Just using a Simota slip-on exhaust with the original headers... As far as the LCD-200 is concerned and it's worth.... i really don't know.. will have to use it and then i'll know. Price?.... LCD-200= INR 16,000/- , mount for the LCD-200 = Inr 5000/-. Bought everything from ; Performance Racing Store.
Thank you for your reply! If there are issues you are facing.... my suggestion would be connect with Dynojet research on FB (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Dynoj...479506?fref=ts) and they are super quick in replying.
      Cheers!

        • Check a few pages back, something about replacing the rolling sensor was being discussed in great length, most bikes showed shutting down at speeds you mentioned, he should be getting it replaced under warranty.

I think this was for certain Model years only.... haven't yet faced any issues. Mine's a 2010 year model purchased in March 2011. Any idea which model years / batches are defective?
I can't seem to find that here, although i'm sure it was mentioned!

Nothing much to do in second service apart from what the service suggests. Do check and clean the brakes and lube the clutch and throttle cables if needed.

Check all fluid levels and top up if required.

K&N will only improve the low end and mid range grunt marginally. Don't expect a HUGE power bump.

Regarding the 120kmph speed lock issue, does your friend have a slip-on on the bike? Is your bike going over 120kays considering it has a slip-on? Your query is not clear.

                • Happened to drop in this thread from the 2013 Ninja thread. I was a Kawasaki fan long before I learnt to ride. I have never used a bike above my 111cc
My faithful Caliber 115 will complete 10yrs and 125000kms in March. My heart is completely sold on the Green Ninja and I would like to know from all current owners if I can really use this for my daily commute. My daily drive is 50kms/day with about 24kms of highway riding.

Can I expect the same long term reliability and comfort from the Ninja? Also, I am a DIY person and do not like to visit the SC. Can a good knowledgeable mechanic help me maintain this one?

Each and every Ninja sold in India is eligible for getting it replaced. Even if you don't face any issue (like I never did), no harm in getting it replaced during your next service.

Welcome to Power Commander Motorcycle Fuel Injection Tuning Module

A power commander basically comes with custom maps for fuel injection so it can provide more fuel where your after market exhaust may need it.

Ask him to take the bike to the service center and get it checked. Mostly they will do a vacuum synchronization which will ensure both cylinders fire correctly and the fuel pump dishes out optimal amount of fuel into both the cylinders. This might solve the problem.

Also ask him to get the air filter cleaned. If it is blocked then the ECU will retard the timing to correct the AFR (Air Fuel Ratio) as lesser air is supplied which also causes lesser fuel to be pumped into the engine.

On the power commander (PC-3 is more than enough for the 250R) or juicebox, it is required when one adds a high flow air filter (Like K&N) along with a full system exhaust. When these are added, the engine runs lean and the stock ECU can only compensate the difference to a certain limit. Adding a juice box will correct the AFR and ensure optimal performance. You can also add custom maps to improve performance of the bike. There will be a significant power bump if you add such a filter, exhaust system and a juice box but these mods are pretty expensive.

Usability on Mumbai commutes - Yes. I use it daily anyways . It does heat up in heavy traffic - nothing uncomfortable though.
Reliability - The bike has a build quality that is much beyond what the current set of Indian bikes have. But I am not really in favour of taking it to a local mechanic. It is better you take it to the SVC where the personnel are trained to work on this. The ghatkopar SVC guys are good - and you can watch them work as well.

IRCs - from PBK. I think 11k for both.
Pirelli Sport Demons (Soft Compound)- ~4000 a tyre. This seems to be the popular choice here.

                          • I am also facing the same problem I think. I was wondering what is wrong? The bike does not accelerate after 120kmph and feels like it has topped out. I have already replaced my roll-over sensor mount during warranty after I had the shutting down problem. Let me check once again.

                            • Amba Bajaj is opening a new KTM Store at Udupi Garden signal. They already have few Dukes and a N650 on display. Service is also there. Store expected to open on 18th/19th of this month.

Delivery time is 90 days for N650.

                              Hope this helps.

I have had enough of riding this mockery on 2 wheels. From past 5 months i am suffering with this stalling issue.

As per the above quotes, things were resolved and similar problem with different symptoms have arised and despite of reporting it to the Senior Manager-Service of Bajaj things are not getting resolved.

My bike has become a mere guinea pig for Bajaj in trying their diagnosis. First the damper kit was replaced and now despite the sensor replacement the same issue persists and now they are clueless of how to go in from here. To my utter surprise and disgust the Regional manager-Service is asking to try out the spark plugs of some other ninja (owner) in city for diagnostic purpose. I mean WTH, how can i allow a used bikes' spark plug(which is supposedly a vital internal component)to be tried out on my bike. I mean is this the way a premium offering from Bajaj is being serviced by Bajaj's so-called Probiking setups?

My situation is nothing different from a regular Platina owner who takes circles around the outlet just to get his bike rectified. I mean, 3.5 lakhs is no joke and after spending so much of my hard earned money on a bike like this,is this the customer support being offered by Bajaj by its Probiking outlet to its premium customers.

And inspite of riding long emails describing the symptoms and the rusting issue, no one is even bothered to act upon it.

This is simply heights. Definitely not being expected from a Kawasaki Product.
I am kind of late in updating here about my bike.

After my mail to Bajaj, they have sent Service Managers from Kolkata and Hyderabad along with a technician(on 2nd of Jan) to diagnose the issues which my bike was plagued in.

After numerous attempts of checking the voltage level at each and every possible junctions/circuits of the bike, it was found that one of the stick coil was loose which was hampering the spark plug's functioning resulting in stalling issue.

The service managers stayed at Bhubaneshwar for an extra day just to ensure my bike's proper functioning after logging in significant amount of distance. I rode/ripped the bike all the way to 14k rpm and found the problem been resolved and confirmed the service people about the same.

Good thing is Bajaj flew their service managers to Bhubaneshwar which has impressed me most on Bajaj's seriousness in attending to my bike's issue.

                                Great going, Bajaj!!
