Will call up Mr.Ashok, i called up their Coimbatore counter part (LGB Office) - Did not get any favorable reply.

And the sprockets cost 12000? Can you confirm? The Chennai PBK did not give me any estimate yet. They asked me to check when i do the next service, I thought of ordering them well before Servicing the motorcycle.

    Thanks in Advance

I am gonna experiment with the cbr250r hugger, as suggested by bluevolt. Will let you guys know how it goes. I personally prefer a direct fit, without any modifications..

I may sound archaic, but I vehemently believe that female drivers are a threat on roads. The distance I maintain from a vehicle also depends on the kind of person inside the vehicle - and I rate females much above autowallas and cabwallas in terms of danger. Anyway, that apart, I'm sure she's going to have trouble digesting how expensive Ninja's spares are. Please show her the bills in case she doesn't believe you and tell her that it's an imported bike.

And yes, I'm sorry about what happened man. I know how much these bikes can mean to their owners. Sadly, though, such are the driving conditions in our country (or anywhere for that matter with female drivers)

The indicator would be around 1K, you can try out the TVS Jive indicators ( abt 200/-) if you are looking at saving some amt on the bill... there was a DIY mentioned in some earlier pages regarding that... otherwise 3.7K seems right...

Hey if she is ready to cough up the bill, then why go for less.

And well dude count yourself lucky, she was ready to pay for the damage. If you got hit by a cab-walla, or someone from the same genre.. he would have ran away without any hesitation.

I checked again with Prasanna and this time he said the chain *and* sprockets together will come to ~12K. He told me 16K+ last time I met him. Never mind. For now, I'd go with JAKRAP's 3.4K figure for the sprockets.

You're lucky nothing much happened to you, your bike, or the lady and you had an accident with a decent person why agreed up-front to pay (though she might have underestimated the bill a bit ). Could have been much much worse. The Bangalore service station is a horror museum for repair estimates. I've seen estimates of 75K, 1.6K, 2.8L, 3.6L (yes, 3.6L!).

I had a recent near miss with a Sumo guy just stopped in the fast lane in the ring road. The car in front of me saw him late for some reason and hit the brakes so I'm in complete agreement with you on the efficacy of the brakes on the Ninja.

I don't mind the cows on the road. And most dogs actually look both ways before they cross the road. It's the people I have a problem with :-/

Ninja....thats also blue??? And it cant be a paint job because no one here will do a costly paintjob on his new Ninja (no painter here is capable of that also). For info only 4 Ninjas are here at Agartala, 2 green, 1 black and now 1 blue.
well two green and one blue (earlier its was black Reg no. of WB) if the guy can afford the ninja then he can also afford the mettalic paint and check out infront of the loot showroom in conel chowmani and if you really want to see ninja and other sport bike the go to north tripura near mizoram border i seen near about 10 ninja 250R i know many people who want to buy such bike but due to no service station, only few petrol pump having High octan petrol plus no availability of synthetic oil they did'nt purchase.

                        • Fall ride!

Had a fall on my ninja today. Went to Vedanthangal near Chennai (about 80+km away). Still running in so well within the 4k limit. While on my way back in one of villages just before the NH45, an old man on a cycle suddenly veered left into my path. I slammed on the front brakes and next thing I know I am down and I slid for about 10 feet. I had my jacket, helmet and gloves on so no worries on that front. Not a scratch or bruise. I was, however, not wearing riding pants (rjays all seasons - being shipped) so scratched my knee. Slight mobility issues with the leg. Should know more tomorrow.

Frame slider and gear lever took the brunt. The Frame Slider is bent. Initially, the gear lever was completely bent inside. But pulled it out a bit and I could ride back without issues. Not a scratch anywhere else. Everything is as shiny as before.

For anyone who still doubts the value of ATGATT, my personal take is it is a must. With a riding pant, I would have just gotten dusty instead of limping about.

Now a question - Does a fall like that hurt the bike in any internal way. On the way back there was no wobbling. Initially, I thought the FI light was on for a second longer than usual but I realized it was normal. Otherwise, no issues with the gear shifting (if anything it is now smoother ). I am at 650k on the odo. Should I wait for the first service? or Should I get it looked at? It is starting ok, no lights going off anywhere, no unusual sounds and no wobbling or any imbalance.

                          What do you guys think?

i dropped my ninja at vedathangal to speak of coincidence. i have posted it some where back in this thread. but it was a drop while turning and helpful locals helped me lift the bike up. for you the frame sliders has saved your turn indicators. get a check up at pbk just to confirm all is okay.

these things happen. nothing much to worry. just keep on riding and that will help us tackle situations better with each ride.

It depends on how old the bike is ? For Plastic or fiber is it 50% and for metal it ranges from 50 -90 %.

The insurance company generally does not pay for estimation charges which is 1000 bucks and labor charges are also not paid in full.
