Hard luck, then. The bulbs that you bought look like H4 bulbs, definitely not H7 bulbs, so won't fit on your bike.

But like n_aditya said, you can go for the Philips Extreme Vision bulbs, way better than normal bulbs.

Costs around 500 bucks a piece. Even a friend of mine who has a cbr250 plonked the Xtreme Visions and is fully satisfied.

So for your question, if its a H7, 12V, 55W it will fit into the socket. Regarding brightness and beam throw i cannot comment Suggest you go for the Xtreme vision bulbs. They are advertised as +100 brightness and +35m beam length... i would say its better than stock ninja bulbs (which are also philips) but not as much as double or +100 as advertised

P.S. Code for the Xtreme Vision bulbs is 12972, same as stock bulbs on the ninja but are more powerful.
Thanks man. I'm quite happy with the stock headlamps but it'll actually be better if these are brighter. If something can avoid a possible mishap, I'm game for it. Will visit some motorcycling stores to see if these are in stock.

      • Guys, how can we change tyres without a paddock stand? Is it possible to use carjack instead of paddock stand?

I need to change both front and rear tyres. Finalised in Pirelli SD. Is it good for ninja?

Engine is somewhat rough, not freely revving as before. Clocked 15k kms and running on bajaj dtsi oil . What might be the problem? Planning to visit pbk this weekend. Should I tell them to check valve clearance? or change oil to motul?

Check the list of authorized dealers on the official philips website so you buy only genuine stuff and not fakes. I would suggest Chawla Motors on JC road, 3rd main. He is an authorized philips dealer and gives a discount too (wholesale price unlike others in the same area).

For changing tires, I used to make use of my car jack. See here for a detailed pictorial. But this is good for only cleaning the rear wheel, cleaning and lubing the chain. If you need to change tires you need to take the bike to a shop that has an automatic tire changing equipment (the traditional way of using crowbars WILL damage the rims). Pirelli SD's are way better than the IRCs.

Regarding the oil, ditch the bajaj oil man. Its not suited for the ninja. Go for motul. Since you have clocked 15k kms, go for Motul semi synth 15w50 5100 or fully synth motul 7100 20w50. Change oil every 5000 kms without fail and oil filter once every 10k kms and your bike will run as smooth as new. Valve clearance is checked at the 12k kms mark, so if it wasnt done, it should be done now. Also get the air filter cleaned. Your bike will feel much better

          • Hello Guys,

I will be taking the delivery of my Ninja this weekend. Just wanted to confirm if the odo was on 0 for all of you. Or did the Probiking guys do some testing before giving it to you?

Mine had clocked some 11 kms. But i dont know the true picture since the speedo cable was disconnected. This is true for all the bikes. Speedo cables are connected only at the time of delivery.

Just ensure to check the bike thoroughly for scratches, dents, dings, leaks (from forks, etc.) before it is sent for registration.

              • Mine had around 30 kms but I noticed it was the same on 4 of the other bikes that came out of the box that were lying in the PBK lot.

Thankyou N_Aditya and Battleaxe. I will be checking the bike for scratches, fairing gaps etc. Hope I don't get a lemon that has been given for test drives.

                  • I thought all test Ninja's had big DEMO stickers pasted on it, the bike i td'd before I picked mine had the stickers and so did the one they gave to a would be owner on the 1000 Ninja ride (just for the ride, until he picked his new one at the ceremony.). Is that not the case now?

IMO , one should always go ahead with filter change ,whenever the oil is changed.

Mine had 15kms on it at the time of delivery. May be these days they are ruggedly checking the bike by putting in more kms..

From past one year or more , they have dedicated a ninja 250 as a demo bike, it was the same bike that got crashed in the green day last time and it was send for repairs... i think the repair is still going on and for the time being they are using other ninjas as demo vehicle (usning cut ,paste of demo sticker)..
                      RIP Marco

take the bike to pbk get the wheels removed fit the tyres. murugan will do the wheel removal. i am a loss as to where to put the tyres. yes you can use the car jack to jack up the bike. pirelli sd are good. do not suggest any valve adjustment for ninja. change oil to DTS - SI ( bottle pack). any other oil u may have to change the oil filter.

Same for me (around 12 kms on the odo). The wire was disconnected when I saw the bike. I had also noticed that the bikes on display are usually touched by many people. The Bangalore PBK guys are no longer strict about telling people not to sit on the bikes on display. So when my bike was about to be delivered, I had specifically asked them not to put the bike on display. I had her covered and tucked neatly away in the basement and ensured that the keys were with the manager.

You'll have to be especially vigilant if your bike was put on display. Check carefully for scratches, especially near the tank area. Almost everyone who walks into the showroom touches the bike - and the scratches usually happen with rings etc.

It's been normal fuel by myself since day one. No hazards or availability issues so far during my trips, done 12.5K in odo.

Unless I seriously mistaken, the whole of India is now BS III compliant and BS IV in metros. As per that standard BS III and BS IV spec is RON 91and that is the only grade produced by the refineries for domestic consumption. All the premium fuels use only detergents to help clean the engine and the effect is best felt in FI vehicles. The premium fuels do not have higher octane number - the sole exception being Speed 97, which is RON 97.

So using any fuel on your bike should not cause any problems at all.
