Was unfortunately stuck in a bumper to bumper traffic today... Darn it man, heat from the engine pretty much fried my family jewels
How do you guys deal with it..? run to the fridge for some ice??
If it get's this hot for a quarter liter.. wonder how hot it is for a liter class bike!!Speed - (spēd) n.

Now you know why the litre-class riders all ride like their bum is on fire.Originally posted by ronthedon View PostWas unfortunately stuck in a bumper to bumper traffic today... Darn it man, heat from the engine pretty much fried my family jewels

That is true , the air from the radiator fan does come out real hot , but it is just a matter of time that you will become use to it.Originally posted by ronthedon View PostWas unfortunately stuck in a bumper to bumper traffic today... Just an important observation and a workaround... Yesterday after returning from service , felt the the front brake pads lost its grip. it was more of a spongy feeling.. (i.e. An air bubble in the brake fluid line)..
So before retiring to bed for a good night sleep.. parked my bike and using rubber band just pulled up the brake level and the throttle.. kept it so the complete night and voila .. the next morning an air bubble visible in the brake fluid chamber and the brakes are now fine..

I was alarmed when it first happened. I was still alarmed when it happened for the first 5-6 times. Now it's a given. If I happen to travel within the city, 60-70% of the times my radiator fan fires up. I also scared a bikewalla near Bannerghatta once. He was right next to me at a signal when the fan came on and he thought something was wrong with my bike. I saw him retreating as if my bike was about to explode.

And that, sir, is brilliant!Hahaha, quite true. Every single R1/Busa I've spotted on the roads is in a hurry. I used to think this was to show off, but now I realize. Even I'm on the constant lookout for traffic nooks and gaps and rush through when I find it safe enough.Originally posted by isodope View PostNow you know why the litre-class riders all ride like their bum is on fire.

And by the way, I saw something disturbing today -
Saw an uncleji ride by on a Green N250R. The guy had an aunty in salwaar kameez as pillion and he had a tattered helmet on. Even the visor was broken. As the bike passed me by and I looked back in shock, I saw that the bike had either been hit from behind or something had gone wrong - the tail-lamp was broken.
I don't want to sound judgemental but it wasn't a pretty sight.sigpic

LOL.. you made my day. Next time I see a litre class bike (or even 600cc or quarter lire class for that matter), I will give them the right of wayOriginally posted by ronthedon View PostWas unfortunately stuck in a bumper to bumper traffic today... I noticed the same during the test ride of Duke, Ninja and CBR. My present Avenger also heats up quite a bit during traffic. But these bikes are in a league of its own, as far as heating thighs and legs are concerned.
Though I never noticed heat reaching up-to the family jewels...

It might feel fine now but better safe than sorry Vibhor. Dont take brakes for granted.Originally posted by vkuchhal View PostSo before retiring to bed for a good night sleep.. parked my bike and using rubber band just pulled up the brake level and the throttle.. kept it so the complete night and voila .. the next morning an air bubble visible in the brake fluid chamber and the brakes are now fine..
There is a bleeder valve which you can open and squeeze the lever to rid the brake lines of any air trapped in it. Or take it to the service center and have it bled. 20 min job and peace of mind till the next few thousand kms.

Having a Black Ninja got it's pros and cons man.. It gets heated up quickly in this weather, and on the other hand cools down easily. Physics 101Originally posted by asheshambasta View PostEven I'm on the constant lookout for traffic nooks and gaps and rush through when I find it safe enough.
Anyways, try looking for shades, when the lights are red. I usually get next to the buses. Yes.. those four wheeled pachyderms actually serve some purpose on the road
!
Sit on them long enough in this heat and traffic... your comfort levels are guaranteed to be questioned!Originally posted by allajunaki View PostThough I never noticed heat reaching up-to the family jewels...

Disturbingly, it wasn't. It was an actual Ninja250R, battered and bruised. Felt really sorry for the bike.Originally posted by ronthedon View PostYou sure it wasn't that pulsar made out to be Ninja.. you told me about last time?

Had a nearmiss yesterday while coming back from office. There is a one way inner road where I have to take a turn near my house. The road is pretty narrow. Some dingbat in his scooty decided to fart his way on the wrong side of that road.
I saw him just before taking the turn, and managed to stop my ninja. The awesome brakes, and low seat height saved my bike from getting banged. Also gotta count my lucky stars that the guy behind me in the car was also able to stop his car in time. Else my baby would have been banged from behind.. ok that didn't sound right!!
but you get the point
.
Man hate these idiots who make a mockery of the traffic rules. These rules are made for a reason. Half of these idiots wouldnt even care if anything happened to their vehicle, unlike us.Speed - (spēd) n.
