I need to get one of those.
And guys, mileage update. I had to refill after 243 kms on the trip meter (100% city riding). Had refilled with 10 liters of Shell Super when the low fuel warning light last lit up. 24.3 kms/L. With the increasing petrol prices, this is scary.

And anyway, my black beauty is going to be neatly tucked into my super secure parking lot from today (100 kms over the 1600 mark). It's back to the Caliber for city commute for me. Neither do I want to expose her to the rowdy city traffic nor do I want to pay double the amount for fuel. :P

I talked about this in previous posts. Bluevolt suggested that it might be a direct fit, but haven't got around to getting the hugger yet. Blame it on cbr's bad parts availablity. Also I have seen that the cbr guys aren't treated like kings in their service centers like we are..

And how does one do that?

More seriously, get another bike for mileage and general use. For sure you can't park your Ninja in Cottonpet or SP Road (Bangalore) if you ever go there so use the other one.

If you're talking about the event on the 24th weekend, you can ask them to truck the bike for you from Bangalore. Some of us are riding from Chennai to Bangalore to hook up with riders from Bangalore and getting our bikes trucked by Indimotard from there.

Sorry, just updated my profile... I'm based in Bombay... I've decided to skip the event and try making it for the next one due to several reasons...

                    1) I don't have good enough riding gear.
                    2) no frame sliders.
                    3) no money to buy the above... :
                    4) I'm not even in town till the end of march... I'd have to cut my trip short to make it... Lol

What I have decided to do though is get my bike transported to Rudrapur, uttarakhand, where I'm currently placed... Will make best use of the bike while I'm here (read: trips to nainital, Almora, Delhi, etc...)

Any tips on how to package the bike for the journey? Gonna hire a truck for the job...

Update:- getting gupta transport to deliver the bike... 5k and 5days... Wish me luck... Lol

Completing 2 years on March 31st!!
Total Cost of ownership for two years is around 452000!! ( Was abroad for one year otherwise this would have been significantly higher)

                              Approximate break up
Cost of the bike - 296000
                              Cost of Petrol - 91000 (35000kms, 25kmpl, 65Rs/L)
Servicing costs - 20000 (Including spares like brake pads, oil filter, airfilter.
                              Seven Services done)
Cost of Chain and Sprockets - 11200
                              Tyres-14000

And also what is the replacement interval for the following spares and the cost.

-Tyres - Around 12 to 15000 kms depending on how you ride. Am running the third set of tyres but am at 35000kms thou
-Brake Pads(Both) - Front very fast (6K-10K) again depends on the riding style. Just check if you got enough of pad left on the brake.
                              -Chain-Sprocket kit - 25-30000 kms
-Coolant- Whenever the level goes down, top it up.
-Frequently replaced spares, if any?- Dont think there is any other replaceable spare per se.
Lube the chain, Check tyre pressures, check for brake pad wear, Check coolant level.

                              Thanks in Advance!!
