Sad thing was that service center was full of crashed Ninja's (even a brand new 650 with fairing scratches....) Lucky that no one except my bank balance was hurt.
Spares are not available easily here in Mumbai..not sure of the situation in Bengaluru. Wish you good luck in getting her on the road asap.Hakuna Matata

Ok guys, my crash update- even though the fairing was broken, today I opened up everything and stuck the broken part with m-seal and in the evening got vinyl stickering done. Now the bike is looking like some kind of limited edition Ninja, couldn't upload the pics today. Tomorrow will do the same.
@ mithungo : I know what you are dealing with right now...
@evershine : thanks for the concern bud, ride safe.Last edited by hellbreaker46; 03-17-2012, 12:17 AM.My Stable.....

Hi guys, I think I can finally write my own report of how it feels to own/ride a ninja... In the past one month that I owned the bike, I have only managed to clock approximately 150kms on it... But that changed today... As I stated in my earlier post, I had my bike transported to Delhi using Gupta transport... The bike left Bombay on the 10th of march and reached Delhi on the 14th... I drove down to delhi yesterday evening with my dad and finally got the bike today morning(it was delivered to my cousin's petrol pump in Delhi). I was pleasantly surprised with the packing done to the bike. It made the trip without a scratch... In fact it took me a good 5 minutes with a blade to get the bike fully unpacked...
From there began my 240 odd kilometer ride back to Rudrapur... And what a ride... I've only begun biking recently, and this was my longest single journey on a bike ever... Through the trip I took the ninja on every type of surface from roads which tempt you to rip like no tomorrow, to roads, which weren't even roads yet... Not once did she let me down in the entire journey... The pick up, as everyone rightfully says, really only shines after crossing the 8-9k rpm mark, which I'm glad to say I did quiet a few times throughout the trip... Even on occasion taking it up to the 13.5k red line... What a rush it is, to kick the bike down two gears from sixth and watch the rev needle shoot up like a rocket... The exhaust note increasing with every second... Orgasmic is the only word I can think of... Touching 140kph on the speedo was also a pretty intense experience... She easily touched 140, with room to go... I'm sure 160 wouldn't have been far away if I didn't sh*t bricks and ease off the throttle...
Yes, my rear ached like sh*t for most part of the journey... My shoulders got a thorough workout... and my right forearm was burning like mad... But this was possibly the best trip Ive had till now, on two wheels or four... Only after spending some quality time with the ninja, can you really appreciate it's true worth...
For now I have a host of DIY's planned for the ninja, including installing an fz higger, fabricating my own exhaust system, fabricating a rear paddock stand, etc... Wish me luck...Now offering Tyga Performance products in India - Brought to you by Midnight Trades

Regarding the shoulder pain, there were some posts earlier on riding positions..
But my opinion - they will go away with time. Better ask someone who has done some serious miles on the Ninja though.
I will be trying the CBR hugger soon..it should be a direct fit (hopefully). Take a look at that as well.

Why dont we have a small ride and add philips to the comparison chart too?
Sure thing mate.
And sure we can have a small ride tomorrow if its ok with the others as well. Prolly to Schoolagiri A2B? What say Vibhor?

Opened up the right fairings today, but it was very late in the evening, so couldn't really do anything... Tomorrow morning I'll start early and try finishing at least a few jobs...
1) Yamaha FZ-16 hugger install.
2) Left side fairing repair.
3) Removing front number plate frame.
Apart from this I'll dismantle the exhaust system to try and fabricate my own from scratch... It'll be a twin muffler setup... If anyone has a full aftermarket exhaust system, can you tell me the diameter of the header tubes? I'll also try fabricating my own "no-cut" fender eliminator...
