I have two updates from my end:
    1. I got my DSG Triton (Red) jacket, and I'm loving it. I wore it wrongly the first time (the part near the waist needs to be slightly tighter so that the jacket doesn't go all the way down. The Triton sizes are slightly longer than the usual)
    2. I finally quit living at the independent house near Indiranagar and shifted to Purva Riviera, Marathalli. The place has really tight security and CCTV's even in the basement parking. I feel 500 times more secure and now I don't ride my baby to work everyday. My trusty old Caliber does the commute part pretty well.
    3. I think I'm turning into a compulsive bike buyer. We rode into a group of bikers at Kolar this Sunday and we spotted a Honda CB400. The sound and the retro-ish looks of the bike swept me off my feet and I've been thinking of her ever since. Once I have an array of two mainstream superbikes, I'm pretty much going to start collecting these beauties. The CB400 is a small inline 4, but it puts some of it's larger cousins to shame when it comes to sound.

Also, I spotted a green Ninja250R in the parking bay yesterday. Any fellow owners here? Would like to meet up! (I'm guessing the bike is from the RG-A block)

Are you the same guy who was waiting with some other ninja owners 250 and 650 after the KR puram bridge.. ?.. Even we were on our way to kolar last sunday.. Spotted lot of superbikes...

Hope you are alright bud. I lightly crashed into a truck last night as well. front fairing and headlight needs to be replaced. Got an estimate of ~32k. Insurance guys will bear half later..

Sad thing was that service center was full of crashed Ninja's (even a brand new 650 with fairing scratches....) Lucky that no one except my bank balance was hurt.

Spares are not available easily here in Mumbai..not sure of the situation in Bengaluru. Wish you good luck in getting her on the road asap.

That sucks, guys. I always feel a little sad when I see damaged bikes at the service centre. BTW, hellbreaker46, serious damage after getting away nearly four times? Sounds like you have a guardian angel looking out for you somewhere... though maybe he was on a pee break this time. Tough luck.

                • Ok guys, my crash update- even though the fairing was broken, today I opened up everything and stuck the broken part with m-seal and in the evening got vinyl stickering done. Now the bike is looking like some kind of limited edition Ninja, couldn't upload the pics today. Tomorrow will do the same.
@ mithungo : I know what you are dealing with right now...
@evershine : thanks for the concern bud, ride safe.

                  • Hi guys, I think I can finally write my own report of how it feels to own/ride a ninja... In the past one month that I owned the bike, I have only managed to clock approximately 150kms on it... But that changed today... As I stated in my earlier post, I had my bike transported to Delhi using Gupta transport... The bike left Bombay on the 10th of march and reached Delhi on the 14th... I drove down to delhi yesterday evening with my dad and finally got the bike today morning(it was delivered to my cousin's petrol pump in Delhi). I was pleasantly surprised with the packing done to the bike. It made the trip without a scratch... In fact it took me a good 5 minutes with a blade to get the bike fully unpacked...

From there began my 240 odd kilometer ride back to Rudrapur... And what a ride... I've only begun biking recently, and this was my longest single journey on a bike ever... Through the trip I took the ninja on every type of surface from roads which tempt you to rip like no tomorrow, to roads, which weren't even roads yet... Not once did she let me down in the entire journey... The pick up, as everyone rightfully says, really only shines after crossing the 8-9k rpm mark, which I'm glad to say I did quiet a few times throughout the trip... Even on occasion taking it up to the 13.5k red line... What a rush it is, to kick the bike down two gears from sixth and watch the rev needle shoot up like a rocket... The exhaust note increasing with every second... Orgasmic is the only word I can think of... Touching 140kph on the speedo was also a pretty intense experience... She easily touched 140, with room to go... I'm sure 160 wouldn't have been far away if I didn't sh*t bricks and ease off the throttle...

Yes, my rear ached like sh*t for most part of the journey... My shoulders got a thorough workout... and my right forearm was burning like mad... But this was possibly the best trip Ive had till now, on two wheels or four... Only after spending some quality time with the ninja, can you really appreciate it's true worth...

For now I have a host of DIY's planned for the ninja, including installing an fz higger, fabricating my own exhaust system, fabricating a rear paddock stand, etc... Wish me luck...

Lucky you! I am still under run in and doing 55 kmph.
Regarding the shoulder pain, there were some posts earlier on riding positions..
But my opinion - they will go away with time. Better ask someone who has done some serious miles on the Ninja though.
I will be trying the CBR hugger soon..it should be a direct fit (hopefully). Take a look at that as well.
                            Happy Riding

Why dont we have a small ride and add philips to the comparison chart too?

                              Sure thing mate.
Adi, I had used the philips one perviously, but it looks like the bulbs are having an average lifespan of 5k km in my case. hence decided to go for the cheaper alternative. Since Wuerth have moved the office to somewhere beyond Sarjapur wipro, went to autoservice and got the p220s bulb.

And sure we can have a small ride tomorrow if its ok with the others as well. Prolly to Schoolagiri A2B? What say Vibhor?

                              • Opened up the right fairings today, but it was very late in the evening, so couldn't really do anything... Tomorrow morning I'll start early and try finishing at least a few jobs...

                                1) Yamaha FZ-16 hugger install.
                                2) Left side fairing repair.
                                3) Removing front number plate frame.

Apart from this I'll dismantle the exhaust system to try and fabricate my own from scratch... It'll be a twin muffler setup... If anyone has a full aftermarket exhaust system, can you tell me the diameter of the header tubes? I'll also try fabricating my own "no-cut" fender eliminator... Wish me luck!!!
