  • it seems our ninja thread is getting lot of inputs for substitute parts as OEM parts are damn expensive.

hope kawasaki / bajaj sees reasoning and price the spares low in the general interest of all ninja owners.

    • hi guys, i have been facing a weird problem with my ninja from few days

the lower part of end-can of my bike is touching the swing-arm(at one point) and a part of disc assembly.however this is happening only when having a pillion and crossing though speed-breakers/potholes(even at crawling speeds)

after inspection i found that nuts and bolts attaching end-can to exhaust are perfectly fine. will be going to pbk this weekend..

what do u guys think problem might be???..i just wish its not something related to suspension

Since the ground clearance of the ninja is only 130mm.. which is quite low considering how speed breakers are made in India.. .

In case you are riding with a pillion.. cross the speed breaker at a very low speed (<10km/hr)... If the swing arm bolt still touches, no need to get worried about .. it is all normal.

This noise is due to dust between the rotor and the brake pad.. not a major issue .. still if you do not like the noise... approach the PBK and ask them to do a pressure cleaning with air..

          • Hi guys, my bike crossed the 4k mark today Bought two bottles of YAMALUBE 15W/50 to mark the occasion. Will do an engine oil change DIY along with the oil filter (k&n performance oil filter) when I go back to Bombay in a couple of days. Also made a road trip to mukteshwar with my dad. Will post a write up with pictures asap.

              .
i dont think this because of the low ground clreance.i am saying this as i have been riding over the same speed breakers(solo and with pillion) for more than 2 years but never faced this.

This started since yesterday morning..hence i am worried.

One more thing i would like to ask you guys,my silencer has got few scratches here and there...any way to cover that...CF stickers???..are they heat-resistant

yes it could be sloppy suspension. you can adjust the shockers tighter and see if it makes a difference. worst case scenario is bike fall on that side and can has gone in just a bit.

                  • Never ending saga of cheap replacement parts

It seems that the side stand spring of first lot of ninja is smaller than the recent lot. I was waiting for the spring for last more than a month.

With the time for leaving on a tour nearing, I was desperate and went to the service centre only to find out that the spring of new lot of ninjas does not fit. However, the side stand spring of Avenger is of exact size and shape and fits perfectly without any mods.

                    Cost Rs.14/-

                    • Hey guys, I went to Khajanchi, in karol bagh today to get new seats made for my dad's classic 500... It seems they will re pad your ninja seats for 300bucks... Seems like a bargain. I'll try taking my Ninja there and see how it goes...

p.s. if you have a RE and find the seats uncomfortable, you must visit Khanjanchi, they have an incredible selection of seats and will customize for you if you like...

whew TV. it seems that the only thing left is the engine, and engine case and frame. may be its just a matter of time before they are substituted too. ( with a bajaj / ktm 350 cc engine ? ). the bike impulse is getting modded with karizma engine. the mod market is on a roll.

avengers front shield screws are also a straight fit on the ninja shield.
