Theoretically it's a straight swap: both are 17-inch rims. However, practically, the front disc size, mounting points for the disc and caliper, the rear drum-brake-equipped wheel etc will make it impossible to swap without a lot of time, pain and money involved.

      Paint your current rims.

The Ninja has Enkei rims. The Fz'S rims are supposedly prone to bending and considering the weight of Ninja it's not a good option to swap, and like isodope mentioned the facts, it's better to stick to the stock ones or get the stock ones painted.

Yes The Fz / fazer Rims are Prone to bending ! but may be coz of The Radial tyres which Comes OE with FZ ( which most of them considers as failure ) ,

but the Best is to Get your Wheels Painted

          • Thanks for he advise guys, will probably go for wheel painting over the swap... Spent a lot of time on the ninja doing
            1) Yamaha FZ-16 hugger install.
            2) Left side fairing repair.
            3) Removing front number plate frame.
managed to do all of the above... Will post pics ASAP... Now what's pending is the fender eliminator and exhaust fabrication... Will start work on that tomorrow...

            • A few Pics of my vinyled Ninja. It's very neatly done. All the scratches and broken part is covered up, spent one whole day on it. Totally worth it.

Wow! If anything I think the bike looks even better now .
I liked the way Vinyls follow upper parts of the cowl. Anyways, how much did it cost you?
also wouldnt cracked fairing tend to rattle at higher engine RPM's, even though you have added the vinyls ?

                  • Did a trip to Mangalore over the weekend. Here's a short ride report with road conditions etc-
                    - 375km/6h from Varthur, Blr to MG Road, Mlr; 375km/7:20h from MG Road, Mlr to BSK, Blr. All times inclusive of breaks, phone calls and getting lost.
                    - Mileage through the trip 30kmpl+ (not calculated precisely)
                    - First 100km of NH4/NH75 out of Bangalore are flawless four lane roads, perfect for relaxed 120kmph cruising.
                    - After that and before the ghats there are still good roads, mostly two lane, good for 100kmph cruising.
                    - Shiradi ghats are in quite decent condition. There's patchwork and one or two bald spots, but no potholes so still quite enjoyable.

The other report from the trip is the efficacy of Tribocor chain spray. Now I don't have results from a scientifically conducted study so take the following statements as an informed opinion. I don't think it's as good as Motul. Motul dries up and forms a sticky coating on the chain whereas there is still some semi-liquid Tribocor left over even after nearly 24 hours of sitting. It flings off the chain and onto the tyres, the rim etc. This is probably made worse by the fact that my chain is *extremely* loose at the moment. The chain is bad, but I think Motul could keep is smooth and quiet longer than Tribocor did. I guess Tribocor is ok for the price though. I'll try it again with a new chain and let you know if it still sprays off the chain.

                    • Cracked Fairing

Repair using standard soldering iron... Later reenforced with feviquick and m-seal for good measure... lol

Removed "Ninja" sticker using WD-40, old credit card and some elbow grease...

Aluminum tube and perforated ss tubes waiting to be fabricated into slip-on/full exhaust...

Just my 2 cents.. Are you sure you want to mess with an expensive engine like the ninja, by attaching your home made slipons?

Leo-Vince, Akrapovic usually take months of research and trials to engineer a full system/slipon for these bikes!

My dads company manufactures exhaust systems for cars in India... So I do have a rough idea of what goes into a muffler... Agreed it'll never be as perfect as Leo-vince or the rest of the bunch, but trust me, it'll be plenty close... Thanks for your concern though... Cheers!!!

In that case, I would be very much interested in knowing, how much power bump you getting on the dyno. Respectable power bumps, might get you some customers from xbhp itself, knowing how much imported maal costs in India

Unfortunately there is no dyno facility available in Bombay... at least not for bikes... There is one, but only for 4 wheelers... I am also contemplating bringing into production a lot cost performance exhaust for the ninja, but that'll be after I make my own... Cheers!!!
