    Hi guys,

I was wondering whether the ninja 300 instrument panel can be fixed on to the ninja 250r. I asked Prasanna at the bajaj service station in Bangalore & he was quick to say no citing wheel bearing & worm is different. I know it's too early to ask but any opinions?

What he said. I'd also like to add that making the gearing taller is not beneficial if you're a heavy person - the fuel efficiency remains the same and you lose out on throttle response and acceleration. I'm going to switch back to stock gearing, I want a thrill-a-minute Ninja and not something sober any more.

Why don't you choose from the many aftermarket options available? That will be a direct fit (with the splicing of some wires, of course) and a much easier affair than opting for the 300's cluster.

I've been using these grips for close to two years now...no issues. Only thing to be careful about is if you're taking her out after a long break (say more than a week), the grips feel a bit sticky. But they're fine after a quick wipe.

Does the sound come after you ride for sometime?
It is the same for me as well..there is a tick-tick when you start. But it goes away after the engine is warmed up.

It can be the cam chain tensioner or tappets. Better take it to the SVC. I don't have much idea on this.

I was away on vacation. When I started my Ninja now, the head light wont turn on. The high beam light is working fine. Its only the low beam light (which should remain on anyways)
Does anyone know, what is the price of a new bulb (basically what will be the expense)?

Rs 700 per piece for Philip Extreme Vision. Stock bulbs are I guess 2500 apiece.

i donot know whether its a good thing to update my ownership review of my kwakker 250 after the launch of 300 and soo many xp s already in here..
Still lemme share few points i felt during my 8000km period on my 2012 green kawasaki ninja..

points that i felt was amazing :#

                          1. looks - i certainly feel like a celebrity riding the green kwakker in the streets with everyone just staring with there mouths open [they really do,i live in kerala and ninja s are rare here .. ]
                          2. sound - its a screamer ,esp above 6k rpm ..
                          3. power delivery - linear .. very smooth power delivery id say ,no strain at all ,twin cylinder goodness.. you can cruise at 100+ kmph without straining.. and hitting 140speeds are soo easy on this one.. i was a fan of the hondas but cbr in this department was a disappointment. engine is soo strained at higher revs and suspension unstable ,i feel like bouncing in the seat at high speeds on it ,on the ninja its a breeze .
4.brakes - one of the best brakes i feel .. would have been happier if abs was there too
5.built quality :its made really wel ,jap tech and quality shown
                          6. corners were breeze - me being not a great rider still i manage to get my foot peg scraping the tarmac with ease...

there are many more ,ill update the rest later,

now the points i feel could have been improved

                          1. low end torque : seriously i may sound stupid but bike is like almost dead till 4k rpm , i know its because of the twin . and the tuning , but feel kind of wierd when cbrs priced at half price stay with you till 60-70 ..improved a lot after my exhaust and filter mod]
                          2. tires : though quality of rear tires good , 140 section would have been a looker especially me planning to use fender elmination
3.meter dash : no petrol meter, only one low fuel lamp . but i donot mind the analog rpm and speed meter ,but no fuel gauge is certainly a let off
                          4. spare parts cost : the bike comes with a premium so does all the parts [but i donot think parts get busted fast ,still 2500 for a mirror ? ]

thats about all the bad points i felt now let me move on to the mods i have done

                          akrapovic slip on exhaust [cf]
                          carbon fibre rear wheel hugger
                          rim stripes
                          seat cowl
                          k&n stock replacement filter

mods i am planning to do

                          sprocket change
                          fender elimination
tbr full pipe with o2 sensor
                          power commander
                          remap [still thinking ]
please give me your inputs as pro riders here on anything on the post i have made.. i shall put in some pictures of my babe too.. thanks

My Tank got a dent and I gave it to the SVC for repair and repainting. Now the lime green colour is no longer lime green. They are claiming that the original colour is a trade secret of Kawasaki and it's not shared with the Indian market. Is this correct? Has anyone here faced similar issue?! A replacement was attempted via insurance but it failed.

What would be the correct technique to ride off-road on a bike like the Ninja 250R?
I know it's not built to be going off road, but in the occasional jaunts offroad what would be the correct technique to negotiate a downward incline on a slippery surface, considering it's weight.
Would I be better off using the rear brakes on such surfaces?

^^Since most of the weight is concentrated on the front, you will have less traction on the rear wheel over slippery surfaces. I had to weigh down my back and reduce tyre pressure to get some semblance of a grip.

The bike is a bit difficult to ride on the pegs (at least for me), but it was manageable over slightly rough terrain. I would suggest using both brakes - with more rear bias..so that you can recover even if rear slides out.
