  • Hi, the mirror of the ODO cracked, I don't know how. The service centre guy says he's seen others with a similar problem, I got it changed, damages, 2,358/--

      • Hi guys. I've booked a ninja 300 and will be getting delivery within the next couple of weeks. What I was wondering was does the chain of a new bike come pre lubed? If not then is it prudent to take a can of motul chain lube and get it sprayed on the bike before driving off? Plus apart from checking for any obvious cracks, all electricals and lighting, and oil level, is there anything specific I need to look out for or check out before taking delivery?

Asking it here as you guys have owned and cared for the kwacker for a pretty long time.

        Thanks in advance.

        • @Arunrk85..Yeah it comes prelubed. The showroom (service center) guys do it for you!
Infact they have a check list to tick off before delivering the bike and usually its done in front of you!
The only things apart from the usual are the chassis number, coolant level, copy of the insurance paper, toolbox and ownership manual

            • guys, I have a problem with my ninja 250r. after the second service, i feel it doesnt revv as freely as it used to and feel the engine has become rough. at higher rpms, seems strained. its been only 400kms since I serviced.
At higher rpms i feel the fairing vibrates, but am not too sure, had asked the pbk guys to check during service.
Also ,theres a squeaking sound from the brakes.

              What do I do?

              • Vinbex, the squeaking sound is mostly due to dust inside the disc pads. Once you clean them it goes away.

Which Oil have you used\Oil Filter changed\Air Filter cleaned?

                Regards,

There might be a significant difference if you order a rear sprocket of a different size. When in doubt, drop teeth off the rear if you want to lengthen gearing, and drop one off the front (and maybe compensate with a drop of one or two at the rear if you only want a small change) if you want shorter gearing. This should ensure you don't need more links than already present in your stock chain. You can always drop links from the chain if it turns out to be too long for you.
Do you know what the stock size is? I think India has a 14/43 gearing, rather than 14/45, can someone confirm this?

                    • Made a trip to Kodaikanal and Munnar during the Ugadi holiday. Thanks to the long weekend owing to Ugadi holiday on Thursday and a leave thrown in on Friday.

I rode from Blore with a buddy of mine who was on a Honda CBR 250R and spent the long weekend with 8 others from Chennai who were on various bikes such as the Duke 200, Pulsars, R15's, Ninja 650 and a Yamaha FZ-1 too.

Here are some pics. Please bear with me for the inferior quality of pics, these were all shot from my 5MP phone camera.

Covered a little over 1200 kms over the 3 days and the baby ninjette, as usual, delivered an average FE that hovered between 25kmpl and 29.5 kmpl.

The clock now reads 27,xxx kms and the stock IRC tire on the front is due for a replacement.

I bought the Pirelli Sport Demon (PSD) a few months back and kept it at home as sourcing these tires is a pain, thanks to the ISI rule that is in force. The rear tire was changed to PSD at 17,xxx kms and it still is going strong with ample grip and tread life. It has squared off a bit on the center, due to the highway rides. A few track days will even it out though

                      • Yes India has 14/43!! For along time i was under the impression that it was a 14/45 till i took it out for replacement. I currently run a 14/47 and its much peppier though the top speed has softened a bit. AM still able to touch 140 with ease and i have hit 160 with some more to go! Will soon move to a 13/47 and then it would be a wheelie machine :-)

                            Hello Vinbex,

You can try Motul 7100 ...I am not a fan of the Bajaj Oil anyways. Regarding the Oil and Air filters, the PBK guys must have changed it - I usually stay there during the service to make sure things are done right.
Checking them yourself now may not be feasible...perhaps you can take your bike for another visit? Or maybe the Gurus here can shed some more light.

Am planning to go in for an aftermarket exhaust, I have decided the type and brand, so thats done. Need suggestion regarding how to get it fixed. Who will do it and how long will it take? Any cons??
