if you dont mind can i know the split bill??

average speed was 72kmph(including all the breaks we took and some time loss because of few niggles we faced),considering the riding time alone it was somewhere around 100kmph!!
The bill did not give much information.

          1. Ninja SBK Service 1050.00
          2. Consumables 100.00

          Service tax @10.5% on 1050.00 108.15

          Total : 1258.20.

I did not change the oil filter this time, since i just changed the oil and filter at 4.3k and the oil grade was same as last time.

          • A Problem...

It has been around 10 months that i changed the rear rim of the bike due to the rim bend.. after the replacement , i saw the the new rim do not have the weights that were present on my old rim.. Inquired Prasanna about the same he told the new wheels come with dynamic balancing and new setup does not need a wheel balancing done.

Couple of days back while riding on an empty stretch (At 100km/hr) left the handle bar and found the front end wobbling. the wobble increased as the speed decreased.

Had a word with Sai Iyenger asking him , whether they do a wheel balancing for a 2 wheeler.. and they said no.

Any inputs on how this problem can be dealt with.
            RIP Marco

If you have a paddock stand, you can do the wheel balancing yourself provided you have the weights. It is very simple, actually. Search youtube on how to.

BV - Where does one get the weights? I've been trying myself for a long time and even found a guy in Chennai whose equipment can balance the wheel - problem is that he doesn't have the weights either!

I rely more on engine braking while riding and hardly use the rear brake except in emergencies. The front brakes pack quite a punch.

The total bill came to INR 1258.

Congratz Dude! thats quite a feat you had done! What was your average speed?

You are not wrong it is indeed Technosynthese oil(Motul's term for Semi Synthetic). The difference between this and 5100 apart from the price and the viscosity is that this does not have any ester and is manufactured in india.
Personally I would recommend this oil over the 5100, Sicne i have used both and found this cheaper one much much smoother.
Thanks a lot brother for the reply.Right now i m using Motul 3000 mineral oil. At 5k planning to go for SS will try out the 3100 gold.

Targetting on finishing the first 1000 Kms by this saturday and give it for servicing. After that i want to switch to synthetic oil. Any thoughts?
Brother u can change the oil. However i did the first oil change at 1k. i have been using motul 3000 mineral oil for first 5k then will switch over to motul SS oil.

Recently after 2nd service, my bike's front braking has lost its "BITE" The brakes feel like Drum Brakes now :O

When I check the wear of disc pads there is some good amount of brake pad left but at the rear of front disc, there is a lot of black Break Dust depositing...

I was wondering what could be the problem here... Should this be a faulty disc pad???

Also, my rear disc pads had to be changed at second service... There was around 2mm left in the pads but my rear disc had scratches along the disc on both the sides

The issue is with the front brake which is still running with the pads that came with the bike during delivery
Went to PBK today for getting the brakes checked
The mechanic says its just because the brake pads have lost 50% of the life and I have to press the brake lever more harder...
He just sprayed disc cleaner on the disc and said to drive for some kms and get back...

But still now I feel the brakes are spongy even when I press the lever a bit harder...
And the brake dust (black powdery layer) is still accumulating on the back side of the front disc...

                        Request your inputs guys!!!
                        Does bleeding help ???

Most US parts websites have weights. For example: BikeMaster Wheel Weight Set | 424-883 | J&P Cycles

Most of these guys should ship international.

And it is even available on the Indian website 20north.com

Friend of mine is 5'5", 45kg and I've seen him ride an R1, MT-01 and M1800R Intruder. A female friend of mine (5'3", and I don't know her weight but can't be more than 50kg) has taken all 100kg of me pillion on my Karizma.

Just practice feet-up figures of eight on any motorcycle you own and you'll find most slow-speed conditions easy to handle.

the problem IS the bent key! You may not have noticed it but the key may have been a little bent and with every time you used it, it got bent a little further until it gets stuck.......speaking from experience - had a similar problem with my 650's ignition!

Jeeva simply tapped it back into shape and voila!
hmm..not entirely.Spoke to narayanan and apparently this is an issue with the US specs 250 ninja's as well. The culprit, corrosion from fumes and water seepage locking up the mechanism.

Told ya not to take the bike into Vala-asa-rava-akkam (phew! that IS a mouthful!) . The lime green paint scheme doesn't mean the bike is amphibious!!
