If you're a tall person you'll find the Ninja much more comfortable simply because it doesn't fold your leg at the knees as much. Plus the distance from the handlebar to the hip point is greater, so you won't get that 'cramped' feeling of the R15. The Ninja's seat is quite a bit harder than the R15 V1.0's - that is something that you might want to take into account.
It's a bigger, heavier motorcycle so it isn't as flickable as the R15 but yes, it's a natural progression from the small one to the other.

I find the Ninja more comfortable simply because when I move around on the bike my wrist doesn't touch my knee like it does with the R15 :P

I personally Ride a R15 and thinking of getting a N250R(or something equivalent) after 3-4yrs. with a low income-high inflation, I need to plan accordingly from now
My concern is because I feel tired due to the cramped posture of R15 during long rides(>200kms) so I want a Bike with a more relaxed position.

strongly considering the N250R as my next Bike. but before investing that much amount, I want to make sure I don't get tired or fatigued after long Rides as I do now. The Bike being the best 250 can take any beating that I know but I can't
long Rides happens once in a few months but still.....

Ninja/CBR's riding postures are more touring oriented than R15. They will certainly be much more comfortable as they are bigger, more powerful and heavier too. Though R15 has a softer seat than both of them, in touring the other two will win due to virtues mentioned above.
They are different bikes, with R15 (V1) having aggressive race oriented dynamics&chassis setup. It is lighter&more flickable too.
Most of it has been explained by others. What I can say is: R15 is like a 100metres dash race champion, while CBR/Ninja are 400metres relay race winners!
Since you are not planning immediately, you will have enough of affordable choices at price point between Ninja&CBR by that time.

      • I Did my 2nd Service yesterday, and found nothing needs to be replaced except oil. The rear brake are as good as stock and the front one can go for another 6k.. ofcourse it depends on usage.
I rely more on engine braking while riding and hardly use the rear brake except in emergencies. The front brakes pack quite a punch.

The total bill came to INR 1258.

You are not wrong it is indeed Technosynthese oil(Motul's term for Semi Synthetic). The difference between this and 5100 apart from the price and the viscosity is that this does not have any ester and is manufactured in india.
Personally I would recommend this oil over the 5100, Sicne i have used both and found this cheaper one much much smoother.

Looks Like Vibhor has finally stepped out of the dark ages of mineral oils

Even when one upgrades to an aftermarket pipe there is reduction in back pressure but this is not much. Riding like this can cause extensive damage and you will be presented with a huge repair bill.

See my post above. In the quest for eyeballs and attention from girls you will end up paying a bomb for repair bills.

Recently after 2nd service, my bike's front braking has lost its "BITE" The brakes feel like Drum Brakes now :O

Also, my rear disc pads had to be changed at second service... There was around 2mm left in the pads but my rear disc had scratches along the disc on both the sides
If the wear on the pads are fine, Check if the disk on the rear side has uneven grooves, If so they could actually result in digging into the diskpads resulting in the residual powder.

        • Stuck gas cap

The gas cap on my Kawasaki ninja 250r is stuck and refuses to open. They key will not turn fully and iv'e bent the spare key trying to open it. I noticed the last few times I have opened the gas cap it was increasingly harder to open each time, and this time it wont even budge! Tried Google and the Kawasaki forums,no luck.Iv'e tried tapping it with a rubber mallet. Iv'e tried WD-40. Iv'e tried pushing on the cap! It seems like the problem is the key wont turn to pull back the latch on the inside of the cap.Pls share and throw some insight if you have a similar problem.

I too felt the riding posture to be similar to the ZMA when I sat on the 250r.
Totally relaxed and there's no forced crouching at all like we'd have to do on the R15.
            Yeah R15's is forced crouching

I am 5.6feet and 52kg in weight. Hope I can handle all the 170Kgs in traffic and slow riding conditions

you are Right. I am not Planning immediately but gotta start Planning now itself due to financial reasons(inflation, price rise and low salary).
By the Time I actually buy one, there will be plenty of choices. But with a reliable and proven History of more than two decades, N250R cannot be beaten that easily by any other in that cc-power-price-reliability-ridability range.
Waiting for the next N250R update to come whose time is almost due(with digi console, etc., Engine and Chassis are best as of now but will like it if something in the lines of Deltabox comes out)

just my opinion with my limited knowledge.

try pushing the cap firmly along the edges.. apply as much energy as you can with only your fingers.. keep one hand firmly pressed down on the cap and try turning the key now.

I hope the key isnt stuck with the cap.

Follow the manual for initial period however can open her a bit not for very long streches though. Plz ride with proper gears all the time. Ride sfe and take good care of her and she will also do the same for u.
Thanks. I went for an oil change. I know its fine till 600 kms for the first oil change but read in many places that the metal shavings may come of in the first 100Kms. Targetting on finishing the first 1000 Kms by this saturday and give it for servicing. After that i want to switch to synthetic oil. Any thoughts?

                      Rajiv,

the problem IS the bent key! You may not have noticed it but the key may have been a little bent and with every time you used it, it got bent a little further until it gets stuck.......speaking from experience - had a similar problem with my 650's ignition!

Jeeva simply tapped it back into shape and voila!

Congrats on those mile munched.. The second service actually do not require much of labor work or any kinds of replacements... wait for the 3rd one for a major bill ..

It is after-all not that bad to use mineral for a long time.. Since the engine was sounding a bit more rough planned to switch to semi synth...

Instead of going for fully synthetic .. try Motul 3100 gold 20W50 or Motul 5100. (which are both semi synthetic)

                        • Need advice on paint.

I had left my bike in a building parking and when I returned, to my horror, I saw water dripping on it from a drain. This wasn't plain water, it was draining from a washing machine and so the paint on the tank got damaged, perhaps due to the detergent. Since there is slight fading at places the droplets splashed, will rubbing - polishing help in getting the gloss back, or do I have to try something else? Please advise.
                          The company I keep:
                          Yamaha Rx100
                          Yamaha RD 350 (HT)
                          Bajaj Pulsar 150
                          Kawasaki Ninja 250r

Wash the bike with a mild shampoo and wax the bike. I dont think any rubbing compound would help since that would damage the paint further. Wax polish should lighten the damage to some extent. Take it to a painting expert and get his advice too.

Bring it to me, I have some soft 3M rubbing compound&polish. We removed many black scratch marks on my friend's white Figo with it. As good as new.
