Always go in for sprokets replacements when you get the chain replaced, otherwise the new chain wear out faster.
Although you check the international pricing for both, i think importing will be cheaper.

For chains Rolon company has developed x-ring chain for a price of 2900 and they are doing R&D on developing the sprokets as well. IF you want more detail , you can PM me or Vishwas.

How often did you use to lube the stock chain ?

I have done 16k , but the chain still does not look bad.
Thanks guys...the most probable reason of the chain getting screwed is due to my riding the bike on the outer ring road in the stop go traffic and all the dust I guess

Went through the link TV posted, Just wondering, has any one checked out D2Moto ?

This comes to about 2K without shipping as well...

So i think to increase the life of the chain, you should have cleaned it regularly with diesel and then lubed it.

D2moto has some good options.. pricing is also good too. especially the brakepads are cheap.

How much do they charge for shipping to India? 2k sounds very reasonable.

The site estimate is about $45 for shipping...so total will be about $80 so about 4K I guess..still a decent saving, wonder why there is such a big gap! looks like Bajaj is making more than 200% margin at our expense

It's mineral oil, 20w50, 2 litres for 600 along with that you get a discount coupon of rs50 for each litre (bottle) so rs250 for each can.

Yup! My bike does not fall under 'sparingly' used, it falls under 'hardly' used! Its like, I ran it in and maintained it only for the lucky would be buyer.

                              • Finally!!!!

                                Hello all,

I have been visiting this forum for a few months now and deliberately did not register cuz, i wanted to do so only when I have a ninja. I have registered now and guess what, i got my 250R (Black) on 23rd Nov'11.
I have been planning to buy the ninja for almost 1.5 yrs now. But always something like buying a house or a car or something else came in the way. Fortunately, i could save up the about 60% of money. Monday 21 Nov'11, went to the probiking showroom in indira nagar (Blr) to book the bike. I was of the impression it will take another 6 weeks atleast. I entered the showroom and the sales guy who knew me cuz of my numerous visits and enquiries, told me that there is a used ninja (2010, green for 2.4 L) which is available. I called the owner and he (with the bike) was in his office in indiranagar. Went to see the bike, since i ulled for the past few years, I asked my friend who accompanied me to have a ride and did a bunch of other things which ppl who buy used bikes do. In the end, the decision was made to close the deal the next day(22nd). Came home in the evening, had some office stuff to do and post that i could not sleep thinking about the fact that in a few hours, i will own a ninja. Called him in the morining at abt 9.30 and there was no answere. Waited for 30 mins and sent a SMS and dozed off only to wake up in 2 hrs to see a reply to my SMS saying he does not want to sell the bike. So, back to Probiking around 2 and came to know thru the sales guys that there are 2 black ninjas available and if i pay immediately, i can take delivery in a day. But i did not have the full amount. So had to put some on my credit card and borrowed some from my friend, made the full payment. On 23rd went to Orion, picked up a CS3 helmet, an Alpinestar riding jacket and got the delivery of the bike on 23rd evening at around 6.15pm. For the first couple of meters i struggled a bit but after that, it is great. Because of the run-in period i could not go any faster than 60kmph. Came home straight. Next morning (Today) to a ride till hosur. I am 32, i have beed riding since 13 I currently own 2 cars, I have owned abotu 5 or 6 bikes in the past, have ridden many of my friends bikes. After all this, if a bike can make a person almost behave like a kid who found his candy upon owning a bike, it speaks volumes about the machine. As i said itsjust the second day, i have done only about 150kms and will not go beyond 60kmph. Will share my experience periodically. Any advice/tips about riding during the run-in or in general are welcome
