Search for Bluevolt's posts on this, you will find something great.

I have some minor scratches that came during transportation. Hope this could get rid of it.
OT: Seems we missed each other by two weeks on Leh . Nice write up and pics.
Thanks Friend. Colinite will still do fine if applied directly, but best application is post waxing only. And after say 3 coats you can be rest assured of a good thin protective layer guarding your paint.

I've used Collinite and it does a splendid job. Best used after a wax job. Bike will gleam and shine like new and this past weekend i was in chikmagalur and riding 2 days in the rain only the rear part of the bike which did not get this treatment is dirty. The tank, fairings and other painted parts were clean except for a few spots of mud.

I use turtle wax super hard shell for the wax job.

I bought a custom made paddock stand for Rs. 1100/- in blore. My friend got it done from a local fabricator and it does the job well. No fancy name or design though.

My tank area has some imported paint protection film (PPF) that bluevolt got from the USA.

I got the 3M PPF on my rear tail panels and it cost me 1200 bucks. Expensive i would say but does the job well enough and doesn't peel off as well. It is installed just like sun control films but minus the adhesive. Water is sprayed and the film is installed and then bubbles are removed using a small thin needle from a syringe. Surface tension holds the films in place. I have this for over 6 months with no issues.

          • Hello Everyone,
This is my first post on xbhp, and very happy to be a part of it.
I am from chandigarh putting up in Mumbai.
I am all set to buy a Ninja. Just confused between Ninja 250r and 650r.
I had RE Classic 500, sold it for need for speed.Kept a Pulsar 180dtsi for local commuting. Following are my requirements:-

            1. Practical sports tourer, expect to cruise at 120+kmph where ever possible

            2. Adequate ground clearance. Here the problem arises, N 650r is 130 mm and N250r is 140mm, want to know how much difference does it make, we all know the indian roads, and have read, have to be careful with N 650r,most of the super and luxury bikes in India like N650r(Though Sheer respect for its power refinement and class) have a GC of 130mm only,of which have to be careful about in uneven terrains, N250r's 140mm same as RE Classic 500 can still be worked out LITTLE better Any owners please post your experience?

            3. Lower end torque, Is that really a problem with N250r? does it really take a toll on hilly roads?

            4. Do 250r owners actually get bored of it riding, and ask for power so soon? Owners please comment.

5.Regarding the new launches, the launch of 2012 N300r or N250r is still in doldrums(Or if sure, please put me wrong )?

            6. After sale service issues if any?

            Thanks

Have owned the 250r and now the 650r. If you want a pocket rocket you cannot get better than the 250r as of now. Still the best designed and made motorcycle sold in India hands down in my opinion. Sold mine after a year to upgrade to the 650 as I wanted a proper tourer but I still miss my 250 at times.

If long distance riding is your cup of tea, the 650r has no equal at that price point. The low GC is not an issue. I have taken my bike over 21000 Kms of some of the worst roads and terrain in the country with no problems.

Bro, Go ahead and buy Ninja 250R, I have only managed to do 7800 odd Kms since I got mine in April 2010. But almost 80% of it has been on highways. I did 1 trip to nimrana, sariska and then back to delhi. Another one took me to Chail. Did the spiti circuit (Shimla- Nako- Kaza- Manali- Delhi) last year. And this year I did the leh circuit (Delhi- Srinagar- Leh- Manali- Delhi). What more can I say about her performace on bad roads, ground clearance issues, lower end tourque, etc...
The only problem I face on such long tours in the hard saddle, it really takes a toll on my back side. And believe me our highways are not safe for very high speeds. You can easily cruise at 120- 130 on this bike, which is quite acceptable. As far as my experience goes, I really liked the IRC's (stock tyres). They perform well when they are warm enough (cold tyres are more prone to skidding). I am waiting for these set of tyres to go bald so that I can try our P Sports Demon.

I believe N250 will be able to beat N650 on track. Yes, I said I believe, would love to try it out on track.

                  ALL THE BEST!

I have pasted plain black vinyl where my bionic knee guard touches. No scratches even after nearly 3 years. Of course, having a black bike helps here. Finding a match for green, might be bit difficult.

                    Cost ? Rs.25/sq.ft.

                      +1

N250R is quite an optimal machine for indian roads, FLYBOY1... you can take this to moderate offroading also, just ensure not too much of luggage, else the belly might touch ground.

Low end Torque is slightly an issue, but beleive me it just goes away within 3-4 rides, you get accustomed to it. Actually this is not an issue with N250r, we tend to feel so only when we compare it to other machines.

Saddle, as suggested by Gurpreet is certainly going to give you numbness, if you ride it continously for more than 200 Kms. Yet, the same can be very easliy modified through a local seatwala/khajanchi. I did same to padd up my saddle for my Leh journey and it had better cushioning than REs after the job.

Lastly, Ninja customers are dealt up with nicely at PBK and not so great service issues.

                      Go gor Ninja!!

                      • My chain adjustment has only one more mark to go before it needs replacement.

I will be replacing the chain and both front and rear sprockets and i reckon it costs upwards of 10k at PBK.

Rolon has started making these parts for the ninja and KTM and my buddies have been using them as well. The rolon chains are X ring and much better than the O ring chains sold at PBK and the rolon chain and sprocket set costs 8k.

I was browsing eBay and came across this.

Could anyone let me know if its a good buy and if this is the stock setup/spec? I dont want to change the gearing.

Also any feedback if this brand has been used or any suggestions for better quality parts?

Please let me know. Thanks in advance for the replies.

                              Hey brother...

Both Ninja 250R and 650R are amazing bikes

The Former is for a spirited corner craver rider - Because the max power kicks in at High Revvs
While the latter is for a laid back relaxed tourer/rider

As you are coming from a Bullet 500, you might feel the lack of power in the low end torque for Ninja 250R but I am sure you will get habituated...

You take either of them you will be a happy rider for sure
