^^ not used, but i would like too. I think they will surely give a sportier stance to the rider, making him lean forward. Im guessing its gonna be good for street racing fun and fooling around, but not really if you planning to go long distance on the bike.

Ownership Experiences
hi all,
i am too facing an issue with the brake pad in the front wheel, after riding the bike , say for 7-8 kms and without using the front brake at all, i find the it got a bit hot and on cleaning it with cloth, i find too much of blackishness on the cloth accumulated.
Can their be a possibility the the pads are touching the cast iron disc,if yes how to resolve the issue?
I can also feel the sqeaky sound coming from the front, sometime it is their and some time not...
ThanksRIP Marco

Check the speedo cable lub once. Maybe thats what is causing the sound. Cause if the discs are the culprit your sound wont disappear intermittently.Originally posted by vkuchhal View Posthi all,

Also, brakes will get hot everytime you use them to stop the bike..
I dont know why you got black thing settling on ur discs though. Maybe someone else here will know that.Last edited by TenHut; 05-25-2010, 02:37 AM.sigpic

Get it checked by the service center. Normally you would find black residue which is brake dust left behind by the pad's. But if this is occurring without the use of the brakes it might need some inspection and adjustment.Originally posted by vkuchhal View Posti am too facing an issue with the brake pad in the front wheel, after riding the bike , say for 7-8 kms and without using the front brake at all, i find the it got a bit hot and on cleaning it with cloth, i find too much of blackishness on the cloth accumulated.

Get it checked soon. Issues with brakes must never be neglected.
@Gourav - get the brakes checked. Maybe the pad's have worn off and thats why the grinding sound. Ride like this for some more time and it'll cost you a bit to get the disc changed.ATGATT - Because hospital ceilings are boring !!!

My Ninja got its first service today.
Have a small doubt. When i used to shift into first from neutral at standstill without revving the throttle, i used to get a thunk sound and a slight jerk.
Now after the service this happens once in a way only. Sometimes it does and other times it is a soft shift. No sound, no slight jerk, nothing. Is something wrong that I dont get the thunk?
Also shifting from 2nd to third gives me a false neutral sometimes and is very embarassing.

with regards to the brake pad noise/griding etc, get the bike on the paddock stand so the rear wheel is free to rotate, and check the free rotation of the wheel. That will point you in the direction needed.
Possibly a grabby brake piston that does not return properly, or a incorrectly fitted brake shoe will cause the brake pads to grind against the disc.

.........and I was worried of the exact opposite!!! - by the way, I got my problem of heavy "thunking" at least partially sorted by having the PBK guys adjust my chain and clutch........perhaps that might help in your case too??

@ JD - thanks for the input.
@ Everyone else - Errr..... guys!! would really appreciate some more input on the above.
I have a friend coming in from Bangkok in a week, and was thinking of asking him to pick these up, but wanted some feedback from somebody who has them or has ridden some other bikes with these.
@ Tenhut - as a seasoned sportbiker, what's your opinion on rearsets?

Ninja already has a ergonomic sitting position and unless you did face a situation where you scrapped the pegs on the road, i really dont see any utility (Look wise might look cool thou)Originally posted by Sunnyside_up! @ cool_dude_sunn_y - Looks good but what is the "6 - position" lever setting for? I'm a noob at this so I assume it's for 'fine setting on-the-go". If so, then it must be for racing purposes, right??
Regarding the rearsets, will any of these after-market mods affect the warranty?

Yeah kinda, instead of tightening/loosening the screw to adjust the clutch cable you can use the knob. It's very comfortable and the lever is pretty compact and strong.Originally posted by Sunnyside_up! View Post@ cool_dude_sunn_y - Looks good but what is the "6 - position" lever setting for? Whats with the warranty, in case u end up messing some part of the bike, you can always put the original back and then claim insurance or whatever

Preping the bike for the Track
Guys...
I am hitting the Kari Motor Speedway, Coimbatore on Saturday.
This would be my 1st time hence want your opinions on a few things.
I am around 5000 kms on the odo, the last time engine oil was changed was @ 1st service.
>> Should I get the oil changed before I hit the track.
>> If yes, what type.
Am thinking of getting the bike serviced once I am back from the track.
I have all the gear I need except for leathers. Is there anything else I should keep in mind?

Query
Hi guys...finally got a chance to access XBHP...took the ninja from Pune to Wai to Pune to Mumbai on saturday...super duper killer machine...the pick is phenomenal...and the eyeball grabbing instances...man...sure take your eyes off the roads which is a cause for concern
...waiting for some more highway rides in the coming week...Mumbai Ninja guys...pls PM me your contact details...wud luv to catch up sometime...few observations or areas of concern...as usual...loud clunk while shifting to and from 1st gear...2 occasions of false neutrals and the rear shocks seem a lill hard...and way out for the last 2 issues...been a lill caught up so haven't got a chance to take the mean green for another ride...BTW...non-highway rides or during traffic jams...the engine heats up real bad...anyone with the same experience...which is wot scares me in Mbai coz all we boast on the highways is traffic
Otherwise cheers ppl...
