  • Need inputs - Vibes between 105-110kmph

    Hi,

After doing a off-roading (the roads were that bad ) for almost 40kms in 2 days, when I was back on highway riding at high speeds, whenever I reached the speed between 105-110kmph, I was feeling vibrations. Speed beyond or lower, there were no vibes
    Any to check for?

Where did you get that notion mate ? I aint a seasoned sportbiker by any means. I just own one.

Opinion about rearsets ? Well...they will make you look cooler and you may enjoy the feel of a true sportsbike as the stock Ninja has raised bars.
Combine rearsets with sporty bars and you will be sleeping horizontal on the bike like on the supersports.
I say order them. You can only know by trying them out.

I am hitting the Kari Motor Speedway, Coimbatore on Saturday.

This would be my 1st time hence want your opinions on a few things.

I am around 5000 kms on the odo, the last time engine oil was changed was @ 1st service.

Change of oil is overdue already dood. Dont refer the manual for oil change.

        >> Should I get the oil changed before I hit the track.
        >> If yes, what type.
        yes
Motul 300V 15W40 Factory Line. Racing pedigree oil which can withstand high abuse and temperatures.
Am thinking of getting the bike serviced once I am back from the track.
No, get it serviced before. Check for everything from brake oil to tyre pressures. Remove the Headlight, indicator lamps, tail lamp assembly etc. Dont race on the track with seat cowl if you have one.
How long is the track time gonna last ? 1 day ,2 days ?
After thrashing the bike at the track for 4 days I had to change the tyres at the end of the 4th day. Tyres take more beating than anything else in your bike.

I have all the gear I need except for leathers. Is there anything else I should keep in mind?
Dont drink anything other than Water and Lime Water with loads of sugar and salt in it. Lemonade is natures best way to replenish your body with salts...redbull and all is shit for you. You can hog bananas like a monkey too.
Dont over eat at all when on the track. You will find your concentration levels dropping down like mad if you over eat.
Lastly...its the track...plunder/buy/steal/borrow/rent leathers. Nothing else will protect you better.

Hurray to you ! Good on ya for hitting the tracks..you will come back to be a lot better rider. The track is gonna open those doors for improvement to your riding which you didnt even know existed. Go with an open mind..and learn everything they tell you there.
And if you learn the south indian accent come teach me. I hardly ever understood anyone down south lol

The pads cost 1250/-... lasted about 3800 km...but I primarily drive in traffic so breaking has been heavy...apparently some people have got them replaced at 2600-2700 km too...

I think it is just the carbon fiber body resonating at a particular rpm... Easiest thing to do is tighten all the bolts etc using the allan (allen? ) key in the tool kit... most probably the vibrations will just shift to another rpm range...

But my original question remains... Should I change the Engine Oil.. and to which one if yes??

Chief .....owning one means that you're at least half-way there!! AND I believe that you attended the training sessions at Chennai.....in my extremely limited book that would make you "seasoned".

Anyway, thanks for the feedback - you're absolutely right - I'll have to try them out or I'll never know !

At worst case, I'll find out if my back can take the strain, and if it can't, I can give up drooling over your 'blade!!

OMG !!! An M4 slip on for the Ninja.

Please stop the mystery and let us mere mortals in on the price and where you bought them from. I am toying between the M4 and the Blueflame exhaust. Do let us know how it sounds too at idle and while accelerating thru the RPM range. Bassy? throaty?....

Details please. I hope it makes a similar howling noise as the inline-4s , but I hope for too much

Just finished installation with help of Midnight
I will review in detail as of now in short all i can say is
                                10/10
                                my priority was never performance
it was sound and it gives 100% satisfaction worth every penny
trust me I zeroed down M4 on basis of youtube audio visuals, its much much better than that
on idle it gives a combo of thump and stock
on accleration it doesnt pinch at all
works great when you rev up 40-60 and doesnt want to use horn
detail review this weekend with video
