This is nothing but for a rumour which has been on the net for quite a while!
It was also around when Ninja was to be launched.!

Again, Tenhut is the "go to guy" for this query However, just to paraphrase the discussion that happened earlier, oil change around that mileage (5-6K) would be the safer way to go... and when you change the oil, better to get the filter changed too...

Whoa ! Plz pls plz launch this bike. It could be the long prophecized ninja killer!
As of now Ninja got no competition whatsoever !

EDIT : Lookin' closely at the bike, it looks like it's in a different league than the ninja.

          Inverted forks
          dual calipers up front
          aggressive seating position
          GP style exhaust
          3 color paint job

I mean, it's basically an R6 w/o a ram air scoop. I don't see that thing selling for less than the Ninja. Eh, I could be wrong though...
Hence I conclude its a photoshopped image, whats the point of putting twin discs on a 33bhp single cylinder 250 and that rear tyre is huge for a 250.You start putting extra's on like these and cost of the bike will rocket to more than anyone is prepared to pay.

Rightly said, my compatriot. The 250 from Yamaha is a photoshopped rumor - I first read about that bike in Japan more than a year ago, and it is nothing but a cut and paste mishmash of the YZF 125R and the R6.

Have kept my eyes peeled over the last few weeks in Tokyo for nice 2 wheels, but have not seen any other sub 400cc sportsbikes other than our very own Ninja 250.

All speculation at this point as far as R4 goes.

            • Latest news is that Bajaj is going to launch KTM in 2011 for around 1 lakh....

Not comparing it with Ninja, but for that price/quality/performance I think it could be a success. I think we are going OT

              Bajaj-KTM?s Rs 1 lakh bike

I say chaps! If this bike comes with all those features at a price anywhere near 3.5ish, my Ninja is up for sale.

But yes, bike enthusiasts (me too) are gonno like if something like this comes into production.

                      Seconded.
I have been hearing about this potential launch of 250 cc machine from Yamaha since as long as I can remember. In fact, I was waiting for this hypothetical machine from Yamaha since at least one year before Ninja was launched. Ninja launched, booked, purchased by many but Yamaha still playing with a range from 100-150 cc and another range of 1000 cc plus.
The link below (from the same bikebhp site) could be closer to reality than the news of Yamaha 250 cc :

                          • Ninja sighted!

                            Hey guys,

I saw a green Ninja on the ghat section between Agumbe and Shimoga (thats in Karnataka btw) on saturday around 530.. was it anyone from here?

I was telling my friends how great it would be if i could come here on my Ninja once i get it, sometime next month hopefully and there! There was one in the flesh, right in front of me even though for a few fleeting seconds

aaargh! am sick of waiting... been almost 40 days now.

                              • I am back guys... brought back grazed boots, scrapped footpegs and loads of experience.

I never knew I could do things with the bike that I did.

Had a good bunch of pro lensmen on the track, so will post more when I get the pics.

Was lucky to bring back the Ninja unscathed.. coz bikes ranging from Apaches to 600RRs were scraping dirt all the time.

So if you love your bike don't take it to the track....
But if you LOVE your bike take it to the track.
