Just spoke to the manager at Probiking showroom in Hyderabad. First he gave me a shocker by saying my delivery would be made in May, when I questioned him, he said April and finally when I reminded him that the delivery was promised within 3 months he said it would be done by March !!!
It seems, there are 11 guys (Black and Green combined) ahead of me in the list and the next consignment is expected in second week of Feb. The manager promised to call me after the 7th of Feb and give me an accurate idea about the delivery date.
Man ... I called PBK showroom last Thursday and they told be it will take another 2 months. I was furious and told him that I booked it on 16th Oct and you promised 3 months which are already completed . Then he came back on line and asked me to hold. He later informed that my bike has been alloted and awaiting delivery . So I went to PBK on Sat 23rd Jan, paid the balance amount and now waiting again for delivery The wait is killing me
By popular demand - you should consider starting a DIY thread. I have been a biker for over 17 years now but never had the confidence to tinker around until I saw your postings. So the number plate is going, tail covers will be fitted, 3m paint ptotection will be done etc etc all by myself.
BTW - congrats on breaking in
I hunting the internet to get some info on the 3M paint protection. Could you give me some detail on where I could get it done. Unless you post a DIY with pics so that I could get the confidence to do it myself.
sigpicI feel like Clark Kent on the streets riding the Pulsar, On the track.. with my Ninja.. I feel like Superman.

Lucky you! Did'nt understand why you have to wait even after allotment and full payment?
The company I keep: Yamaha Rx100 Yamaha RD 350 (HT) Bajaj Pulsar 150 Kawasaki Ninja 250r
RIDE SAFE! IF SOMETHING HAPPENS TO YOU, WHO'LL TAKE CARE OF YOUR BIKE?
I doubt the cramster will be a good fit for the Ninja. I am not too big a fan of saddlebags on a sports bike because they tend to slant inwards. My reccomendation is to pick up an expandable tail bag and get one made locally.
BTW - I saw a pair of saddlebags at Mahalakshmi - Carolbagh. Sporty looking chinese make with Alpinestar logo's. Looks good but didnt bother asking the price as I dont intend having saddlebags on my bike.
Ditto for my sentiments around the Cramster bags. I have an expandable tail bag, but I need more space and that's where the saddle bags come in handy. Due to the design of sportsbikes, the bag would turn inwards no matter what you do. But much more stable than a tank or tail bag and spreads the weight evenly. And I HATE tank bags, though they are a practical option for reaching out to things quickly.

DIY thread...hmm. Will maybe create one next week or so if I get my hands on the FZ16 rear hugger. And I'm happy to hear that you will go the DIY way - nothing like to get cosy with your brand new bike!
Wonderful travelogue Bluevolt...I have a question and a suggestion.
First the suggestion - Next time you are in Pondy, stay at the Aurobindo Ashram, which is right next to the 'promennade'. Its the best place to stay at in Pondy..closed parking, excellent view, terrific canteen and very reasonable prices to top it all.
The question is - why 'Shell'? I am sure this has been discussed in the forum earlier, but since I am a late joiner, I am unaware.
Aurobindo Ashram it is the next time, my friend! And I use Shell because Ninja only sips 91 Octane and above, and all Shell petrol variants meet that criteria. And Shell bunks seem to be the most honest of all in terms of quantity, besides great service.
<bluevolt> thnx for the info, have u compared it to a 220's lamp? hw does it hold up agnst that? also i read an article smwhere that the ninja's lamps are pretty weak and thats y i asked.
N i wanted to know if the edges of the paint saver have been catching any dirt. its been a wyl since u put them on rt?
Nope, did not get a chance to do a comparo with the P220. But the high beams are very, very strong, I can assure you that. More than enough, regardless of weaker or stronger than the P220. High beam translates into 55Wx2 lamps on a Ninja.
And no dirt on the edges of the paint saver...yet.
@bluevolt: Enjoyed your running in short trip post. Keep riding mate. The Ninja definitely vindicates every rupee that you spend on it. The realization keeps on growing each day when you discover its capabilities.
Thank you Niranjan - I am still recovering from the high which the bike gave me yesterday! Vindicated, that's the right word for every rupee spent...

I have managed to lay hands on about 12"X12" roll of 3M paint protection film. My cousin is sending it to me from the US. You can source it on ebay as well. This should be more than enough for a couple of bikes.
Planning to do it myself unless find a way to upload the template on to some software and have the sticker guy cut it on their machines. (sorry - not that tech savvy)
BTW - if you are willing to spend big bucks - you can buy precut film. will look something like this
The roll should reach next week....dont know when the bike will :-)))
Will keep you all posted as to how much is required per bike.
I have figured out a way to get it digitised. I will be cutting the templates and then get it cut by the sticker guys.
The sticker guy wants to have a look at the sheet to confirm if this can be done.
Basically scan all the templates on a contrasting background and draw an outline around it using corel draw (ouch - sounds latin to me). Use that to cut the 3m sheet
For all this to happen - I need the bike to come soon
