I'm really curious as to how that happens - differential pricing in different cities - The box my cover came in was a Bajaj Genuine spares box with hologram and also had the MRP on a sticker pasted to the box. Inside was another plastic pouch holding the cover - also with 'genuine spares' marked on it and I even got a bill!!

It is 4 litres from the time the indicator starts blinking once in few kilometers or from the time it is constantly on?

This is my analysis regarding the fuel sensor.

            1. The sensor is located on tank near the seat.
            2. Hence light comes on while going downhill and and braking.
            3. Due to lack of fuel gauge I use the trip meter to calculate the fuel left while touring.
            4. I press the trip meter when the light becomes constant, (regardless of uphlll/downhill)
            5. Max I have done with the fuel sensor light on is 80 kms.

            Hope it sheds some light.

Hey Bro, you should not ride the bike for long with the fuel indicator on AS U MIGHT RUIN THE FUEL PUMP!!!!

I am serious, please do check up with Bajaj for your satisfaction, refuel immediately after u see the light, driving with low fuel levels will ruin ur fuel pump...

I know that very well buddy ... but when you are in the middle of nowhere you have to know your bikes limits.

So was testing the bike, but was also keeping a visual check on petrol left in the tank.

Basically no fuel in the tank will ruin you fuel pump not less fuel.

I am sure my experiment will help others.

In Delhi, while i was taking delivery of my ride, i was instructed by PBK guys that fuel in the fuel tank should not go below 5 litres, else u might ruin the pump. Upon asking i came to know that the low fuel indicator goes on around 4 litres. So i asked 'em how is it possible for me to see that the fuel does not go below 5 litres. All i got in return was a big SMILE.

So i ain't taking risks with mah ride!

Should not go below 5 litres? Well in that case, I think my bikes fuel pump is already ruined. Strangely, it seems to running just fine.

I got mine for 3.5K and I think it is a basic model. The bike cover was available with Performance Racing when I checked at that time. You might have to order, if you are looking for any particular model. They will courier you the stuff. If you are unable to get more details (model/price) from Performance Racing let me know, I will PM you the direct number.

                              • PBK guys told me that I should try to fill up petrol as early as possible when the fuel indicator lights up constantly. Without adequate fuel, there is a chance of pump running dry and ruining itself but it is really not much of a problem. When the light lits up, you have ample of warning to fill up.
