  • got my 1st servicing done a couple of days back... was already delayed with 1300kms covered

Not a very good experience at the service centre in terms of customer management. There's only 1 service centre for Mumbai & Thane, Vashi combined & its in an obscure (almost run down industrial estate) location.

No separate facilities for the Ninja. While a bay is supposedly reserved for the Ninja, saw all Bajaj bikes being serviced on same inspite of a few Ninjas waiting around.

Had to almost scream & dance to get somebody's attention ... the customer waiting area is non-existent

The best part - If you pay by credit card, an additional 2% is levied .. I mean really ! This wasnt a roadside joint that cannot cover costs of a credit card swipe... all other vehicles that i own, none of the service centres lvey this charge ....

As a Ninja customer with a premium bike & all-services paid, the least i expected was some good customer management.

No call to update you that the bike servicing has been completed & you can come & collect the bike - minor point, but an update would have been good

On the technical bit - not much to be done in terms of the 1st servicing, not faced any issue there. However, was asked to sign a document that says test ride post service was good & no issues seen. This without any test ride being offered

BTW - they charge Rs. 1000 for a Teflon coating, once. Other bikes are charged Rs. 650 for thrice a year, so they are making good money on the Ninja. Better service levels can definitely be put in place...
If you are not afraid, you have probably chosen too easy a mountain to climb!!

I have had a similar experiance in Hyderabad and even brought this up with the Bajaj guys from Pune during the Ninja customers meet. They promised to look into it but nothing seems to have changed.

Friend I'll try and make the choice simple for you, if you have'nt already decided. If what you are looking for is an experiance like you never had...something close to superbike performance, Ninja is what you should look at...the CBR 250 is going to be like a Karizma, with a little more power that's it...the twin cylinder is what makes the difference.

I have to say my experience with Bajaj Servicing for the Ninja has been exemplary. But yes, if guys in your cities are slacking off then you should write off a strong worded email to the authorities.

I daresay that the cat is already out of the bag when you posted in this forum. I know it will sooner or later be read by someone relevant.

On a lighter note, maybe you guys should consider riding down to Pune for every service. Another reason to have an all-Ninja g2g

            • Service in Pune is simply awesome. I have had the opportunity to get my bike serviced in Chennai once and it was awesome there too. Much of the credit for good service in Pune can be given to Mr Kiran Divekar.

I guess you just have the ill luck of havig to work with the wrong ppl at PBK in MUmbai

Let the authorities know of it.

                • @pranav: Did you get it serviced at ghatkopar or Turbhe??? I had done my servicing from turbhe and was very happy with the way they treat the Ninja costumers...
and i guess the 1000 rs for teflon coating is for thrice a year as far as i can remember...

Plan to raise it with Bajaj soon.. the damn work load these days .. (dont let my posting on Xbhp make you feel the contrary )

There is a gentleman - Parab at bbay who's hands-on & takes care from a technical perspective....

Its just that the overall feel of riding to a slum area (almost), getting pushed around for lack of standing space, no separate facilities for the Ninja, reluctant acceptance of the credit card.. leaves a very bad taste.
Like the pro-biking concept at the front end, they should look at something similar at the back end too.

Now imagine the situation once the bigger Ninja comes in. Would a Rs. 5-6L paying customer find such facilities up the mark?

anybody got any email id of Bajaj that i can write in to? I know of quite a few Mumbai Ninja owners not happy with the situation.

We have around 10-11 Ninjas going for a ride to Daman this weekend. Should be fun.. The last trip to Pune with 7 of us was great added to the fact that we got to meet u guys too

I've had very good experience in dealing with Chennai Pro-biking. I'm surprised & sad to hear about your experience.

The Chennai Pro-biking guys didn't charge me 1 paisa more than the bill amount (no extra C.Card charges).

                      • I would vouch that Khivraj motors in blore has been upto my expectations on the ninja service front. Prasanna, the manager there has been very customer centric. Only grouse is that they dont accept payments by card... only cash.

P.S. I was in chennai on saturday and happened to be lunching at a hotel next to the PBK center. I was shocked to see a ninja lying around (waiting for service i guess) without the handle locked. The bike had clocked some 2.5k kms and it was just parked next to other bikes just near the entrance gate... anyone could push it out and steal it as there was no security at the gate as well.

                        • I have been told by some of the service managers in delhi, that they do follow this ninja ownership thread closely. So im not sure if they still do it, but till about 6 months back they were.

On the warranty - I believe so too. But trust me, you won't need the warranty unless you have exceptionally bad luck! These things are built to last if given the care and attention it deserves

unfortunately yes. warranty is valid only for the first owner of the bike. this is stated in owners manual as one of the warranty conditions.

so there is a catch here. generally ninjas are spot on without any troubles whatsoever necessitating the warrenty.

so that is what it is.
