you could try it, but without a paddock stand, how would you take the load off the axle? Also you would have to keep it in a secure place because if someone decided to play with the rear brake lever while the wheel was removed, you could be in more trouble.Originally posted by harikeshpk View Post

So please stop acting like you are on a hayabusa. Maybe in India its a big thing, but this is the entry level sports bike for beginners and many people buy it for its fuel efficiency as a second or 3rd bike for commuting daily. I don't need a bike with 80 km per litre fuel efficiency(we Indians have lots of choice in that department) but i am not dumb to shell out 3 lakhs for a 250cc girly moped(even if its ninja) if it doesn't give me decent fuel efficiency. If i wanna buy an Yamaha R6 or 650cc bike then it doesn't make sense to talk about mileage, but with the 250r, it is a perfectly valid argument to talk about fuel efficiency.
But i will accept that it is a performance bike in the sense that it is more fun to ride than our 125cc bikes having 7.1234bhp power.
i love the girl bike tag on the ninja. in the same line 33% harley users are also ladies you may call them bigger girls. i dont know how we can place the harleys then?
i still i dont know how to look down on any thing used by girls ? Hence i have purchased the ninja Knowing fully well that 33% girls use the bike and it gives a mileage of about 22 kpl at blast speeds and wanted to be part of the 60% of the males who buy the bike.
i dont know how 22 kpl translates to fuel efficiency ?
its always better to know about the things that you are using. that applies to your bike also.Mountain biking on impulse with my wife and our bike goes down in water

A bike Being ridden by women, does that make that bike inferior in any sense?

@gurpreet: that question wasnt anything unusual,he wanted to know, there is nothing wrong in it.

Is that a Cramster Tankbag? I dont recommend using it as it is likely to damage the paint.Originally posted by toolkit View PostI went for a (1100 * 2) Km two way trip and came back yesterday evening. Posting some pics from the ride.
If you must use it, put a soft cloth under it. But this will make the tankbag flip-flop around too much.

LOL, a 5 year old Pulsar tank will already have its share of scratches.Originally posted by toolkit View Post^^^It already has a little bit. The paint on the tank is rather prone to scratches. In comparison my 5 year old pulsar 180's tank looks as good as new.
The paint on tank isn't prone to scratches, if you are using a tank-bag on any Motorcycle, it will have scratches.
You guys have got a paddock for yourselves? What about the front wheel then?
I think it would be safe to get your tire to PBK & request them to change it.

looking forward to the writeup as I myself am planning a ride with my better half. I am only worried about the sudden pot holes which my just give a jolt in the back of the pillionOriginally posted by harikeshpk View Postdid you balance the wheel after you changed the tyre ?
PS. did a initiation ride (rather a tour )for my wife on the ninja to check how ninja is for ladies on long rides. we did 300 kms on the vellore krishnagiri highway. after our return at 8-00 pm she is given the thumbs up. will do a write up and post pictures on the touring thread in a day.
It will be there in the blink of an eye ...Originally posted by sammyboy76 View PostThanks bro

My regular city driving is 40 - 80 kmph and it gives me around 25 kmplOriginally posted by dharmana View PostCan anyone tell me how much mileage the Ninja 250R gives for regular city driving with traffic(at 40-60kmph speed)?
I dont think that should be a problem. I have ridden mine in few start stop traffic situation and it does takes the temperature needle near the danger mark but i never found it even touching the mark. My trick is to keep the revs minimal when the traffic is too much and I am not able to get the airflow going and the rip it at the slightest opportunity to give it some air. If the temp needle goes high and have open road ahead it is good to ride fast to bring the needle down.Originally posted by basu_RR View PostI typically get ~25 kmpl on the highway... During running in at speeds of ~60 kmph I used to get 30 - 35 kmph... However I would not recommend anyone to use it regularly in traffic. The bike depends on constant airflow to stay cool. Our typical stop and start traffic causes it to heat up very quickly... I invariably get the fans running within 30 mins of city riding. Gives me a feeling that I'm just torturing the oil unnecessarily... Which is why I rarely use it within the city.

I believe all Ninja 250 come with LC radiator. The water to coolant ratio should be only 75% distilled water to 25% coolant. If the coolant ratio is raised beyond this, the bike will heat up quickly and cooling will seem to be low. The coolant does the job of lubrication,is an antifreeze, anti corrosive, and distributes the heat slower than normal water. This last property allows the radiator and the engine to warm up faster, but in temperate climate like ours, more than 25% coolant in radiator mix actually raises the temperature beyond normal. Just what I had learnt.Originally posted by TorqueMaster View PostI dont think that should be a problem. your A.S.S will be able to tell you the ratios....
