Over the forums have heard about lot of ppl cribbing about the price of the bike and being overpriced when comapred to US. This should shut them up once and for all ...l[/URL]
Some explanation there buddy...I see you still away from ur bike...here's to a quick reunion...

    • Awesome deduction there JAKRAP.

Bajaj should give a few free services for this.... if not a 600

Just to kill the "cheaper in US" argument further... thats a carburettor version instead of FI.

Checked everything up. Didnt understand one thing though. How does cheaper gasoline of US cost me $5560 (= INR 250.2k) and the person in India only pays Rs.120k for the more expensive petrol. Please check that statistic and get back to us with the correct figure.
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

Thanks for pointing out. The post has been edited. Two more things to consider here thou.
          1) US version is carburetted.
          2) THe US price taken is MSRP and not out of the door and hence the intial price may be more than this.

Still a Ninja is cheaper in India than in the US considering the assumptions.

Dude, first of all please type a full sentence so we can understand your query.

Now the comparison between the ZMR and the Ninja is like comparing apples and oranges.

The ZMR is a single cylinder machine while the ninja is a twin. Sounds simple but ride one and you'll know the difference. A twin wont feel strained at high revv's. (same applies to the CBR 250 too).

Also look at the cost of spares and service. The ninja will burn a hole in your pocket while the ZMR is down to earth when it comes to maintenance costs.

If you can afford to maintain a high performance bike then go for the ninja.

Suggest you start with a 250 (ninja if you can afford to buy one and maintain it well) and then upgrade to the bigger bikes that are in pipeline next year.

              Hope this helps.

                • Yes....so is my CBR1000RR. They are all single cylinder now

ZMR vs Ninja ? Thats a 1 second decision. Even if you are a tourer the Ninja would be the way to go. The only reason why you shouldnt buy the Ninja is if you dont want to spend a lot of money.
Lord vs God ? If you you are referring to ZMR and Ninja with those words then you should go for GOD.

Btw neither of them is either God nor Lord. They are Prophets if you wanna liken them to biblical proportions :P

Wait out for the CBR though. Although a misnomer its gonna be a crackling machine. Single Cylinder torque will surpass Ninjas for sure.

                        • I've covered 11k+ kms on my ninja and will have to change my rear tire soon (rather asap). Is there a place in Bangalore where we can source the original IRC tire? Or is everyone using with the tire sourced via bajaj/probiking? In Pune I was told that I'll have to order it and wait another 10-15 days for it! I'm planning to order it in Bangalore unless you guys here know of a better option.

@Basu, look back a few posts. A member by the name Hyperion posted details of a shop in Pune/Mumbai (Metro agencies) that has stock of tires for the ninja. Cant recollect if they were the Bridgestone Batallax or the Michelin Pilot Sport tires but they cost much lower than the IRC's and perform better too.

I have heared that in kolkatha and pune IRC rear available at Rs 2100(without warranty and bill) in aftermarket. In bajaj it costs around Rs 8000
